Just an update.
Went flying sunday and today and did great. Sunday i only got a 10 minute flight in due to diffaculties... And then today i got plenty in. I deadsticked today abotu 15 feet off the ground and about 200 feet away. It layed it down in the grass, but it bent the nose gear, no problem just bent it back. Other than that i did awsome. And landed 2 times after that perfect with a messed up nosewheel riding like a flat tire...

Last night i epoxied the Vertical Stablizer and today i hinged the rudder...
I also got my landing gear block redone today. Here are some pics..

Re: aileron torque rods on 4* 40 If you are at this point try to make them with about an 85 deg included angle so that they lean back a little when assembled. This helps the ailerons to have a little more up than down travel ( good). u may have to cut the rear of the opening in the fuse a little to clear them.

Exeter,
The trainer and my foot had a disagreement, so i am going to be purchasing an uglystick to replace it. It should be a good way to step into the four star.

Here are some more pictures. I put in some cockpit detail. The cockpit took me about 45 minutes with legomen
I also installed the engine temporarily and there are a few new stickers. I had to cut part of the cheeks off to accomadate the G-51

In that pic is the engine supposed to be off-centered like that? It also looks liket the whols plane isn't straight? Maybe it's the camera angle but you should check on the engine mount.

Hmmm.....forgive me Chad...but the trainer has been in the ground several times, correct? Seems to me that more trainer/instructor stick time may be the way to go......
and brandon, the engine is just setting in the mount...not bolted down yet....

The engine is horribly off center and is clamped down. I was going to ask what the effects may be. I can change it if needed, but i was going to see if i needed to because i have seen diagonally mounted engines...

ok heres and update guys
Today i went out and began working on the wing I RUSHED through.
After doing some research, I learned that this plane is an extreme floater, and i think it would be good for me to learn to fly something that doesn't float that much in case i go into warbirds or other planes that don't float. So, after seeing what people did, i decided to chop a wing bay off of each side. Then, i used those ribs to replace the 2 i broke.
Now, I need to just go to the hobby shop and get some pices of balsa to replace the spars i broke (I broke another tonight) And also go ahead and sheet it. I also need to get tourque (sp?) rods.
By the way, I am so glad i have joined this club. My attitude towards flying is now so relaxed and i am relaxed and happy as ever.
