I bought a new AR6200 and cannot seem to bind it, I plug the bind plug into the bind and charge port and the battery to the aux port on the 6th channel which is being used for nothing only one light stays on solid without blinking on the main receiver, the guy at my LH binded it for me with no problems I get it home and it didn't seem to take, what am I doing wrong ? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

plug the little male bind plug directly into the bind port on the receiver, and power up the receiver on any channel .....for binding purposes turn on receiver before you tune of transmitter and you'll be ok

You plug the bind plug into the bind port on the receiver. If you are binding through the third wire on the switch harniss the power has to be pluged into the bind port on the reciver not the 6th channel port.

the transmitter I am using is a new DX7 I have plugged the bind plg into the blind and charge terminal on the RX and the battery on channel 6 and others as well.... it won't bind, what step am I missing ? can someone explain in detail how you are suppose to bind this receiver ? the guy at my local hobby shop did it in 5 secs because I thought I had a defective RX, but when I got it home only one light stays on and I can't seem to duplicate what he did, I must be missing a very easy simple step somewhere in the process

Plug the bind plug in, power up the RX, lights blink, Hold the bind switch in on the TX and turn on the TX. Lights blink and then go solid, BOUND, release the bind switch, turn everything off and remove the bind plug. Re do after setup and after Final trim flight to set failsafe. Same way to bind all Spectrum receivers, some of the 9channel are different.
Its all explaned in the manual that came with the radio, If not it starts on page 18 [link=http://www.modelflight.com.au/manuals/pdf/spektrum_dsm/spektrum_dx7_z.pdf]HERE[/link]

Exactly as The Ghost explained it. I also have a 6200 that won't bind. No problems with any of my other receivers, just that one. My plan is to give Horizon a call when I can remember to do it and send it in if necessary.

I did it exactly as you and the manual explained, the lights don't blink when you first power up the RX only one light on the main RX stays a lite solid

You either have the bind plug in the wrong position
or a bad bind plug.
Something else I just remembered, keep the TX at least 4ft from the RX when binding, have had all sorts of problems with the new 5200 receivers untill you keep that seperation when binding.

2 things:
1. As mentioned above, move the TX further away from RX! Needs to be at least 4 feet for binding.
2. I had an issue with an AR6200 binding where the remote antenna wire to the satellite rx actually had a bad connection in one end. It would not bind for the life of me, even though it would blink. The plane also kept losing its bind. Try replacing the wire.

Except for the terminology in step 5 (below). You remove the bind plug from the receiver. NOT the bind button.
This had me totally freaked out when I first started with my DX7.
5. Remove the bind button and store it in a convenient place.
Not to mention, the manual does not specify turning anything off, let alone in what order.

Make sure once you DO successfully bind, to bind a second time with the throttle all the way down and other controls at neutral to lock in the fail safe positions. Here's what the last step in the owner manual for the AR500 Spektrum reciever states for example:
"After you’ve set up your model, it’s important to rebind the system so the true low throttle and
neutral control surface positions are set."
