HERE'S ONE MORE LITTLE GIFT
from the Methuselah in HOUSTON

the reason is : that this whole thing, the flyer, the DVD, the courses
everything
is based right here in Houston,
and this is the SCHOOL that I am following for my flying with the RAPTOR.
THE first four movements : tail in - right side - left side hovers + from the sides
http://www.chopperview.com/
Maybe I will try to meet this fellow in person ( ? )
RICK

there is always a certain amount of "reason" mixed in with my madness

say g'nite Dink ...... g'nite Dick (pray for the Crash to have a LIGHT DAY tomorrow)
Well....I'm back. No Pulm Hypertension according to them, but they sure wanted to sell me a sleep test....sleepancia they call it.....PASS. I KNOW I still have heart probs, now to find a doctor who will LISTEN to me. So....a light day, NO traffic ticket, some irritation with people who think they're GOD. Hint...NOBODY knows your body like you...push till the right person HEARS what you're saying.....and that person just not telling you what you want to hear...it don't work that way either. MY HELICOPTER IS STILL DOWN...jeebus......[:@]

JPEE,
That's awesome that your getting a Hughes fuse. While I was watching your last video I was thinking that the way you fly a scale fuse would be great. You fly very smooth and your turns a very scale. I think you and a Hughes 500 will be a great fit and I look forward to seeing video[8D]

Vic,
Good to hear nothing serious. Health stuff is no fun at all, that's why I stay away from the doctors and such

Rick,
Your choppers look great. Purple and turquoise... that's new but not bad I tried stripping the anodizing off of a CopterX part once but wasn't happy with the resulting slop in the part. I think it's better off as is, My Opinion
Any news on your big Bipe?

Jim,
I hope your knocking that deck out. Now is a good time to be flying, less bugs[X(]

Blessings,

Jay

Hello Jay,

Thanks for the kind words, all of them

Yes I am kind of a Purist Flyer when it comes to my helis. For me.................rather than seeing a heli go nuts in full on 3D I like flying a heli like it was made for. HOWEVER, with that said, I did master only today! flips inplace and full on large loops. So I am not against 3D as was doing it myself this very morning! Call it scale flying of the heli, well that to me is as relaxing like when I fly the plane. I got my plane to relax between heli packs. I found that flying nice circutes got boaring fast so then I went nuts there too with inside and outside rools, barrels, inverted and such. Dont mistake what I am saying, I am 10% the pilot you guys are but I do go a little crazy when I get it up there.

Smiles JPEE

PS: A chuckle, the Hughes body was a way for me NOT to crash my 500. I fugure with the body on there I'll have to keep it sane LOL

Howdy all, As I am not inspired to try to hover the T-Rex inside. Well this weekend I bought a new drivetrain for the MCX. Damn, that's why I am playing with the T-Rex.

OK, the next video needs to be done out doors. wilco

METHUSELAH here !

two pics : KING 3 plus mCX with Transmitter
I dared (DARED! ) to open the TX with the broken ANTENNA
and exchanged it for the new one.
then re-flipped the switches and got the mCX to fly again,
since the CX-2 has been turned into a ZOMBIE.

The PRECIOUS KING - 3 has been LIT UP. However, the gale
continues and not even the garage is safe; so I plugged it in,
worked on the canopy to make it fit. With a 2200mah battery
(heavy) the heli BALANCES but perfect.
Cycled the GYRO, beeped happily and gave a soft twirl of the
blades, inside. That's IT......it seems to be VERY READY. So first
change I get it will be tried.
have HUNDREDS of hours on both SIMS (FSONE & 4.5) done in the
past month. I think I should be good to go
A GLIMPSE of the INNOVATOR just behind.......

Chopper Here,

Just checkin' in too. Lots of ya have some STUFF going on, and that's a good thing. For me, it's going slow right now, but I do get in some flights with the B400, HBK 3 and HBK 2. Had to order some main gears and pinions for the HBK's. Normal wear and tear.

Still playing with the DX6i on the HBK 3, I want to get it as close to a stock TX as possible, that's what I'm use to. It's a challange for sure and part of the fun. (Scratching head) Getting close though.[8D]

OFF TOPIC:

Here in Indianapolis, the High School kids have to go to a metal detector to see if they are caring guns, knives etc. NOT a GOOD representation of values. Back in the good old days, I belonged to a Rifle Club in High School, and carried my rifle to school. We had a rifle range in the basement of the high school. What's wrong with this picture.[X(]

Here's a picture, I'm the dude second row, far right...[8D] Things have sure changed for sure. Picture was about 1963.

Bless ya all,

Dave / Choppersrule

Changed indeed. It seems that it only gets worse. My wife and I were watching "Bugs Bunny" on Sunday with the classic drunk stork delivering the new baby Gorilla. He was stuttering and hick-upping. Cracked me up but I said," You couldn't make that cartoon now and days because every parent group would be all over you for doing it."[:@][:'(]

I'm going to go chew on some lead paint chips now[sm=bananahead.gif]

God Bless!

Save some of those paint chips for me.....I'll bring the powered lye and mercury for de-leading gun barrels for us to play with (LMAO). Maybe wash those paint chips down with a little diesel fuel/rusty water mix from the top of a 55gal drum (I ain't mak'in this crap up either) [X(]

To All you Dudes out there,

Jeff-Michael, listen up here pal....

I've been rebuilding my BEATER HBK-2, all went well. I had to replace the main gear and motor pinion from normal wear and tear.

After a rebuild, I spool it up with no blades on, main or rotor. And check the main shaft to be true and zero vibration. Check...

Then I install the tail rotor blades and spooled it up.. Yikes Almighty I had a bad bobbing vibration.. Took the tail blades off and weighed them.. One blade was 1.8 grams and the other was 1.6 grams.. That's ALOT when talking about something that small... Anyway, I add a couple HUNKS of tape to balance them.. Installed blades, and EUREKA, smooth as can be.

Not a major find, just to let ya know that balancing blades makes all the difference in the helicopter ya got. I've mentioned several times that 1/100 of a gram can make a difference. Take the time to do a GREAT balance of the main blades and tail blades..

Love ya guys, and God Bless,

Dave

There.....that's better on the main gear, looks great. BTW....I put my tape on the back side of the blade (just cosmetics...no big deal, the heli don't care which side).

Dave ~

Lol... Ya know, after I did balance my 450's main blades I never did note any diffs from when I flew it last... Dang it ! I've only flown twice in the last 5 weeks, but the next time out I'll have to check her out... Good info again...

I got around to tinkering with the Logo and installed those Hitec servos finally. With the Yellow Trex 500 canopy it kinda makes the Logo look like the Trex 500 V2...

Cheers,

~ Jeff

Good to see you checking in there Jeff and glad to hear your busy. That Log looks great[8D] Not much work in my neck of the woods lately but that gave my time to cut this out. It's my own designed plane cut from 1/2 rigid Owens pink foam. I got the idea from a friend and had to try it out. 51" wingspan upgrade from this one~

Still no chopper flying here though[:@] Soon!!!!

Blessings,

Jay

That's real cool Jay. Where did you need to add reinforcement? Have you ever built a S.P.A.D? I still have one hanging in my basement. That was a ball to fly too.

Jeff- glad to see you around also. Hope all is well for you.

Pics later of the deck project, it's coming along nicely.

Jay ~

Very cool ! I remember snooping in the plank section last year and coming across a few gents doing what your doing right now and creating your own craft by cutting out your own pieces... Can't wait to see a vid from the master.

Jim ~

Can't wait to see you completed deck project. Did you say it was a composite deck ? I helped my dad in Cali when I was there build a few big composite decks and there pretty cool ! The brand popular down there is the "Trex" brand decking... Trex...? Go figure eh ?! That stuff is heavy stuff ! One long board feels like its made out of concrete... I remember in the early morning winter hours it was a pain to screw those special deck screws into the decking when it was cold, but as soon as the warm afternoon sun came out, the boards were as soft as butter (but strong) and so much easier for cutting and screwing into... Another thing that is crazy that is becoming popular is the end of copper pipes for the plumbing and using this plastic type "Pex" material...

Gotta run,

~ Jeff

Jay,
DANG!that is one great video. Perhaps when you get the plane CG right it will fly straight instead of flipping and twirling all over the place. ..............LOL........

Jay, you know your plane is excellent! just razzing with ya a bit. You fly like no other forsure, you have golden fingers. I was amazed when you shot straight up to what looked like a stall then just beat that puppy with flips and rolls and that the foam is that strong just freaks me. The colors you use make is very easy to see too.
Thanks for sharing the video. WE NEED MORE

Yes cool video ! The plane looks like its "light and fluffy" and you make it look easy... Is this an older video that you used to have on You-Tube ? I think I remember it from the deer at the end...Lol... Me likey......[8D]

Thanks a lot guys!

Jeff, that is an old vid with new music. Someone didn't like me using the previous song so You-tube cut the soound so I changed the music and reposted it on Vimeo. I still will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER chase any animals. Birds don't count

JPEE, that foam isn't very strong at all. That plane is depron and it snaps easily but with a little foam safe CA and kicker your right back in the air.
I knocked the nose off of it when I hit the ground today and I glued it back on with Gorilla glue. It takes longer to set but should be(hopefully) stronger.
I hope the rigid foam holds up to my abuse

Jim, I'm going to put a carbon fiber rod in the wing for a spar and prone weak points will get small rods as well. I can't wait to see your composite deck. Man that stuff aint cheap[X(] I looked at refacing my deck with it last year and passed The great thing about it though.... you only have to do it once and no maintenance. Worth the extra dough!

God Bless Y'all,

Jay
