Jay,
I thought you may get a kick out of it...

Bob's,
Got a tiny problem on the HBK2. I think it's either a tail servo going sour on me. or the telebee gyro.
There is absolutely no binding anywhere. You know me on SET-UP. At take off and in a solid hover, everything is okay. If I make a snap 90 degree turn, left or right. The tail will pulse back and forth for about 2 seconds and then be solid again.. Not a tail wobble all the time. The pulsing of the tail is only 1/2 inch in each direction at most. Happens too, on a piro.. I've adjusted the gyro screw/srew(JAY)
left and right to no avail. Hmmm, what's your best guess, gyro or servo, has to be one of them suckers.
On the Lama V4, I had to order a bottom (A) gear. I heard some weird nose and found that 2 teeth on the gear were worn.. Not bad actually, I have over 100 flights on it.

Jay, that video was so disappointing. Bet the two pilots involved had some words for each other.
Haven't been flying at all the past week. I miss it!
Dave looks like some wicked winds caught up to you. Hope that downed tree limb opened up so flying space for you though
Mike I've been self employed for the last 3.5 years as a Biomedical Technician. Bascially I repair medical electronic equipment in Nursing Homes, Dr's Offices, Physical Therapy Clinics, etc. I got tired of being laid off everywhere I worked so figured the next person to lay me off will be myself!
It pays the bills and I'm happy but it is also stressful when things get "slow".

Dave, did you check the gain adjustment screw?

I'd bet Gyro. I have the telebee and I have the same issue but only when coming out of FFF into a hover the tail wags back and forth like a happy dog. I've tried all adjustments and to no avail. When you find it please let me no, it drives me nuts[&:] I haven't noticed it when doing piros though.
BTW I'm in construction[:@] Interior mostly but some exterior structural steel framing. I do steel stud framing, drywall hanging, drywall finishing, ( which is my forte'), acoustic ceilings, ( or ceiling grid systems and pads), and Stucco.
Pays the Bills
God Bless Y'all!

Jim,
Actually, as mentioned we were pretty lucky on the wind damage, we live in a section of Tornado Alley, we've had winds 100 mph before. I remember several years ago, I was in my car and the winds lifted the back end off the ground. YIKES! More flying space you say, it'll cost me a big buck to have it all removed. Actually the tree is diseased(spelling) and needs to be taken down. It's about 80 foot tall and I don't want it to land on my house the next time.
As you are self employed, and seeing your credentials(spelling), you may concider expanding your business and include computers too. They would be a cake wake for ya. I've built many over the years, and fix 'em when there broke.
Jay, it's pretty easy ya know. I remember you having troubles with your computer and giving it life span of a few months or so.
Jay,
I've adjusted the gyro srew(
) numerous times and had no effect. I'll go with your gut feeling and install a new gyro. Just happen to have one..
Happy finishing![sm=wink_smile.gif]

80 Foot tall? That is one HUGE Heli Eater!. I wouldn't touch that one either. As far as PC repair goes, I have done that in the past. There are 2 issues that prevent me from doing it more: 1 is there are a ton of local people who do it so competition is stiff. 2 is the end user[:@] They may have a perfectly working PC but lack skills to operate it in the proper manner! I like the hardware end of PC's, having built many myself. I just never got into the programming side of it. There are too many different "languages" out there and it's constantly changing
BTW, I'm betting on Gyro too. Let us know how you make out.

Jim and Jay,
You both hit the nail on the head... It was the GYRO. I installed my spare, made a test flight/hover, with snap 90's and piros in the basement and all is well and fine. I can't complain, the gyro is about a year old and has a zillion flights on it, and a lot of crashes too. With that in mind, the telebee is still a great Gryo.. A ten minute job and you have a new heli.

Pictures: 1: old and new gyro 2: gyro off (bad pic) 3: new gyro on 4: My Vapor battery charger and battey. The batt. is tiny little.

Jim,
I was thinking more on a line of the Geek Squad with the computer thing. Basic set-up, program installation, hard drive replacement, etc. No net-working or programming. You can probably get 80 bucks an hour on that.

Dave,
I've read you and others mention several times that the initial inspection of the HBKII is very important as there may be things that need adjusted out of the box. Is there a list somewhere or a post or another forum where that 'initial inspection' info could be had? I have no clue what I'm looking for with this being my first belt drive heli; and all I've known since Christmas is the Blade CP+.
Thanks!!
Scott

Scott,
Congrats from me too, as Mr. Wnuk said, "You'll really like it Scott." As you know, there's several of us with the HBK2 with alot of experience, so any questions, fire away.. Take it slow and inspect it throughly, before maiden flight. Pays off. SET-UP!

I just ordered a Blade CP. I have a toddler who loves my little styrofoam heli (which I have broken three but had many hours of fun), so I decided to take the plunge and get a Blade CP.
I am a little worried about wrecking it and having the blades fly off (don't want them to hit or cut him). I know some helis have foam blades... are there foam blades which work with the Blade CP?
If not, then what about the folding blade conversion?
What else do I need beside the kit? Extra blades? Other parts I need immediately or after a few flights?

I've just up graded my CP Pro with E-Flight Heading Lock G90 gyro, brushless motor, and Spektrum receiver. The setting for the gyro was tested low 45 to 75 on the gain with the 3 and 1 set to minimum lowest adjustment. And the gyro set to 100% highest setting. At the low setting as I increased power the tail spins to the left, at the high setting it will not turn right. It doesn't seam to lock on a heading. (or I'm expecting to much) Do I need a smaller tail rotor blade, a larger motor? This is my first heli I've been flying it for 7 months and just started to do 3-D. Add this is the first time I've programed a heli. Lots of question with setting up my JR 9303. It seams that the travel adjustment is set very high or low so I can us the trim setting without running out of adjustment. I was sure that at 50% thro I had the swash- plate leveled. ???
But still required alot of trim. ?? I'm over looking something and need help.

Had the same prob with a telebee ATV gyro....it's in your TX settings, you got to find the happy place by messing with it.....I'm NOT familure with your radio.....you're on your own there.[:@]

Well men........the Corsair does indeed fly. I had some trouble with it at first but after this last flight I have pretty much found the "happy spot" for this one. It wants to fly fast and be gentle on the sticks. Heres the vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsWn30bXHWc
The lil gal at the beginning of the flight is Kennadie, a very interested in learning to fly 9 yr old. I will be purchasing a trainer cord for the Esky TX's and set one up as a buddy box. This should work well for both her and her mom Jacki. And she says hi Dave!

I work construction and landscaping.... I'am currently down here in California helping my Dad wrap up a few houses he's building, as he's been a general contractor down here for over 30 years... Landscaping is my prefered work, and back home in Washington State I work for myself in doing so, as it goes along with my love of being outside and working with my hands and using my imagination... Otherwise I get bored very quickly...
Kyle ~
Great pictures...
Geez, don't let my dad see those or you'll get him going on a rage of excitement...! Just last night, he had me in the house on the computer showing me all his running times with the cars he takes to auto-crossing events... I was starting to get antsy, as Its hard to sit still for very long ! Plus since the RC hit me about a year ago, my pasion for racing with my Acura's and Honda's has declined...[
] He has a love for cars, as I do and sometimes its hard to find a spot to park around here...
He loves his Corvette now, and won't leave it alone and is getting it ready for some racing for next year... His Mach 2 I think its called, is his car he takes currently, and is set up crazy for suspension and that thing grips like ya wouldn't believe... It blew me away, when he took me in it a few times ! It's only got 17,000 miles on it and is a 2001. He trailers it to the events all over California... Pretty cool...
Alright, gotta go eat something.... Hotter than crap today.....

Very nice...! I saved that one.
(Gotta show dad)
Well guys.... I took up the Typhoon up on Sunday morning from fixing it from the first crash. I ran some small CF rods through the front of the fuselage, along with some glue on the fractured foam and it worked great ! Unfortunately, I had another crash ! In the EXACT same spot as the first one...[&:] What the hek.... So weird... I lost signal again. The first time I thought it may have been the streamer getting caught on the rear rudder, but I still had my doubts on the first one as that being the problem...
This time, I definately could tell I had no signal... I even put in the stock E-Flite 25 amp esc on this flight also. I took out the CC 45 amp one as just an experiement. I'am thinking its either my crappy RTF receiver, or crappy RTF TX... Or the long antenea (sp ?) hanging out the back on top of the rudder... Or its from my dads Eclipse 7 interfering with mine somehow, even though they are different frequencies. But I still don't trust running off a MHZ signal, never had, and never will...! I guess the CPP wrecked the trust for me there !
So I'am going to pick up another Ar6100 and bind it to my DX-7. But first, I will run it one more time but not at the same time as my dad. There was a CHP over on the freeway, that had someone pulled over as I noticed looking around for some guy hiding in the tall grass and trying to scramble our frequencies for a good time on a Sunday morning....

Anyway, it took a good fall from the sky and into the dirt. I was very surprised there was no damage ! Not even a bent prop or prop shaft. I think I'am gradually maker it stronger from crashing it now...Lol.. The video is 4 minutes, and the crash is at the end.... I put it in slow motion as you can see it fall like a rock...
How are you guys making your videos 'high quality' for You-Tube anyhow ? Cause this time I used Windows Movie Maker, but didn't see where that option would be.

Jeff Michael,
Great video, everything was wonderful, until the end when you lost signal.... Hmmm. looking back in my brain of data.
It's possible, but rare, that there can be a harmonic in-balance.. What does that mean?
Well, if your running one frequency and your dad is on a different frequency.. It can cause a third frequency, that could interfer with either of you. It's really technical stuff. It would take several pages to describe it. Sooo, I was brief...
Did you get your Chatty Kathy yet? LMAO... Hope it's not on back order, I think Jay is getting one too.[sm=spinnyeyes.gif][sm=spinnyeyes.gif][sm=wink_smile.gif]

Good info... Never came across that yet... Interesting.
I'am not worried about it, I'll try some different variables in troubleshooting and figure it out... That's what makes the hobby fun ! Keeps the mind thinking...
Yeah Chatty Kathy's...Lol.. Sorry... Never heard of em'. I think I wasn't "invented" yet.
I wanted one for a collectable, but Jay took all the rest in stock............[8D]
That's weird about the Vapor's TX being opposite on the rudder......!! Why in the world would they do such a thing ?! That would literally mess me up ! I would have sent it back, and offered a few kind words along the lines we don't want to hear...LMAO...
I remember reading that in the Vapor forum awhile back... Weird...
If any of you guys happen to have the G4 simulator, I have a link I can give you that will provide about to 4,400 downloads of different flying sites for it, along with every model there is out there. I downloaded the Typhoon 2 3-D last night, as you may have seen in the G4 video above, and man it flies EXACTLY like mine in real life ! Its crazy... After I post this, I just downloaded a Stryker F27C...! So I can finally answer my own questions about it, as I still can't fly any of the Jets like the F-16/ F-14 etc. etc. I also just saw a new flying site, that is an aircraft carrier in the water....!!! So sweet ! I need to figure out how to make the You-Tube videos 'high-quality' as you see on Jay's and Jim's You-Tube video's as an option to view them.. The quality you see is about half, of what I see on my laptop, and all my settings for the G4 are set to low, just so I can run it. Most laptops guys have won't even play the G4...
Alright..... Stryker time.....
Take care,
~ Jeff
Good info... Never came across that yet... Interesting.
I'am not worried about it, I'll try some different variables in troubleshooting and figure it out... That's what makes the hobby fun ! Keeps the mind thinking...
Yeah Chatty Kathy's...Lol.. Sorry... Never heard of em'. I think I wasn't "invented" yet.
I wanted one for a collectable, but Jay took all the rest in stock............[8D]That's weird about the Vapor's TX being opposite on the rudder......!! Why in the world would they do such a thing ?! That would literally mess me up ! I would have sent it back, and offered a few kind words along the lines we don't want to hear...LMAO...

I remember reading that in the Vapor forum awhile back... Weird...If any of you guys happen to have the G4 simulator, I have a link I can give you that will provide about to 4,400 downloads of different flying sites for it, along with every model there is out there. I downloaded the Typhoon 2 3-D last night, as you may have seen in the G4 video above, and man it flies EXACTLY like mine in real life ! Its crazy... How are you guys making your videos 'high quality' for You-Tube anyhow ? Cause this time I used Windows Movie Maker, but didn't see where that option would be.

As a side note, it looks like the weather is going to be good here tomorrow. I hope to get to the field in the early AM and attempt my first loop if all is right. With any luck I'll get it on video to share.
