UNUSUAL in that I found a way to use a PC in my friend's house.
Impossible to catch up with all the writing, I am about 10 full pages behind.
Glad to be over the holidays at last>! I have tried to keep up the batteries
charged and have made some flights with the mSR and the HB2 and 3. They
all seem to be doing well, the batts. are UP.
Been working steadily. they gave me 5 full days off and I caught up with my
reading.
this posting is for the purpose of telling y'all that I am still OK and kicking.
My PC is "totally" down and out. will not even boot up anymore. The tech.
answered his cellfone from OHIO and said he won't be back until Jan of 2010
Best regards for all and I will be back as soon as possible when the PC works again.

Jeff / 46,
I've got the EXI comb, head and tail that Oracus mentioned. It's on a Legend 450 and didn't require modifications. It may on a Belt CP.. If you can e-bay the tail you have, you'd be ahead of the game.. Being you'd have the head and tail, not just the tail. Until you get to where you can hover in all directions and do some basic flying, I wouldn't go crazy upgrading anything else. The CNC head and tail units, do help somewhat, however, it's you that control the heli, not the parts on the heli. It does take some time and a lot of patience.

I have read it takes most 3 to 5 hours of practice to get where you can hold a hover and that is flying time so it could be days or even weeks. I am not going to do anything else to mine except finish setting up the mechanical part then learn to hover. If I put the alloy head and tail assemble on it I might mess them up learning to hover.[X(] I have plenty of stock main blades since I picked them up REAL cheap. I know they are not the best but for now they are since they where so cheap like $3.50 a set shipped and I have about 8 sets.
I all so have the training gear to put on the skids. Thanks for all the input and please keep it coming.

Rick when you say your PC will not boot can you even get in to safe mod or C moss? Did you try to boot from a CD? What does it do when you try to boot it?

It gives you a good yard stick to progress by without you getting ahead of yourself.
CORRECTION, I FOUND CHOPPERS OLD POST AND HE HAS THE CHARGER LISTED BELOW
Chopper said, I finally figured out the Bantam BC6-10 charger. http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=7801
Here are two good chargers many use and I have used personally. One is a 50 watt for 34.00 and the other is a 150 watt 64.00.= FASTER!

Correct me if I am wrong but all those charges cannot be used with AC current like in your house you have to use a car battery or external power supply? What I like about the ones I listed is they can be used with both AC or DC.

I agree...I like using AC because my flying field is right behind my house. Some guys convert powersupply off junk computers to power their chargers...we got the experts here to do that. I haven't had a need, but I might even look into doing it.

Making a power supply is not problem just one more thing to lug around. When I go to the track or any where I just about fill every square inch of my car and I do not have a little car.
Normally the night before I go to do something with my RC stuff I charge the batteries the night before. Then most not all the places I go have AC available and the other places normally someone has a generator.

46- That Turnigy charger comes with the leads to use it on DC Power with a battery or car cigarette charger. I also converted a PC Power supply to use mine at home on the bench. It's an easy job, I probably have a link to the instructions around here somewhere.

I am going to get one that will work on both AC and DC with out using a external power supply. Making a power supply is not a problem I just do not want something else I have to lug around.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Nope, I must have deleted the link. I bet it's buried in this thread somewhere. The article was posted in one of the RC magazines in an october 08 issue I believe. In a nut shell, you tap into the 12V line on the circuit board, add a 10 ohm 1 watt resistor in series with it, and put some banaba connectors on the chassis to plug the power supply into. I know JPEE did this, maybe you still have the link JPEE?

Jeff / 46,
I kinda like this one: http://www.xheli.com/thac6bachwac.html It has all the leads you need to charge 2,3,4,5, and 6 cell batteries.. You mentioned that you want one that will work with AC/DC without lugging something around... AC you won't, but DC you need something to plug in to the charger, a car battery, a car charger etc..
JPEE was correct I have the Bantam BC6-10 charger. It's a DC only, and I use a car battery charger to power the Bantam.
I can't recommend this to that, because the Bantam charger is the first really good charger I've had.. And I must say it's a marvel, however, it's expensive too.
Whatever you decide on, make sure that the charger comes with the appropriate discharge board, or at least one available.. Usually there about 10 to 12 bucks.
Out for the night,,, stuff to do.

What I like about the other one I posted is it has all the balance ports built in to the side of the unit. Scroll down about half way down the page it has a good picture.

I have the Turnigy 6 charger and a similar AC adapter than this one. It works great I am going to pick up 1 more so I can charge more batts.

Belt Cp mods that need to be done
1.) Use Trex XL mainshaft updide down, or cut down(length) a belt main shaft
2.) Move swash pin guide to the front of Heli
3.) I modded a Belt Cp tail shaft to the Copter X tail box because of gear mesh

Our hearts out to you, we know how much Jessie meant to you and the care you've done to aid.. It's very hard to do, be sometimes the best route..
Liz and I had to do the same years ago, with a cocker spaniel, named "Chrissy Jingles".

Kyle- My heart goes out to you and your family. I had to put a dog down years ago and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Grieve for a short time but remember you are doing it for the right reason.

I just ordered these.

One of the other reasons I am getting this charger is it will all so charge LIFE batteries. I am going to get a LIFE reviver pack for my HPI 5b SS one day. Much lighter then the standard NiMH RX pack. Being my my 5b SS weighs about 24 pounds and that is light for a 1/5 scale as average is around 28 to 30 pounds.
