ORIGINAL: Captain Randy

I replaced the wire rear supports that came with the super skids with some Gold-n-Rod tube. I also ran the antenna wire through it--up one and down the other. I could never get the wires straight and they are a bit weighty. Anyway, I have not had any glitches with the antna being there....yet.
Captain Randy,

Nice looking heli....You'll be fine with the antenna routing, it's not wrapped around the boom or parallel(spelling) to the boom so interference would be at a very minimum if at all.

HEY HEY HEYYYYYYYY

LISTEN UP N'Y'ALL WILL HEAR : THE UPGRADE WORKED ! ( I had no fear ! )

in actual FACT .... the CX-2 goes quite a bit BETTER with this new personality. The breeze is up from this morning's stillness, maybe 6 or 7 mph
This "new" CX-2 held its own for a bit, where the RED BODY could (or would) NOT
Brought it INSIDE, rolled up the carpet....and proved to myself that it is a lot better
It also has a set of "new" more powerful 2SLiPo which promised to double the Flying time.

Oh heck, I had promised to not BUG THE WORLD with my stooopid stuff.

I see that you are using the stock brushed motor. John Adams (and I ) are using the BL motor. I haven't compared the diameter of the motors yet. Maybe that allows more room.
yes, bl motor is smaller in diameter.
yep that's the issue.... the S60's don't work with the stock motor, unless you modify either the frame or servo case. I just swapped out my S75's from my BL CP Pro and put the S60's in. Haven't spooled it up, but they fit!

here's the link from the thread about the S60's and John Adams set up

Hey guys..just came inside from burnng thru the second battery......... What a glorious day! Little puffs of wind but mostly dead calm. I never hovered over 10 ft off the ground. Pretty solid and controlled thru the first battery, a little shakey twice on the second! I had a dog almost get the heli when it was about a foot off the ground........she got out past her owner and came up from behind. I think she missed the blades by less that 6 inches. I hit throttle hold and dropped it in the grass....and blocked her from getting close while the auto rotation spooled down. Close call!
Have to say.............. a great experience and I am loving the programmable radio, makes dialing in pitch curves and throttle curves so much easier than having to adjust pitch links to increase headspeed! Still no idle up programmed in, I just don't see a need for it with this heli....... all I want to do is hovering and slow FF so will just keep it the way it is. I will probably put the Futaba RX on the TREX and get better servos, then sell the DX6 and Dx RX on here of ebay. 5 pitch curves and throttle curves is the way to go I am thinking. Time will tell!

LOOKYJ .....

I want TO TELL THE WORLD that you are TRULY an artist.
I watched the DVD of my 3 first flights with the Blades
Complete with TITLES, ending with CREDITS ...... I "particularly liked" the
credit that reads :

PILOT and CAMERAMAN : RICK BARR
EDITOR : LOOKYJ
and to top it off the LOVELY MUSIC !!!!!!! wow ! ( what does "wow" actually mean? ) my dog says that all the time

That has now become my most treasured souvenir to keep forever. When my set up is ready I will cotinue on the DV something like continuing to train after basic....or some such.

Choppersrule Here:

Topic:

HiTec HS-55 Servo Modification, When Using the Blade CP/ CPPro Stock Transmitter
*This modification is not necessary when using a Programmable Transmitter, servo direction can
be reversed in one of the menus items..

The HS-55 servos turns in the opposite direction than the stock S75's that come with the Blade
CP/CPPro. There is a wiring modification that changes this for the Blade Series.

Warning: If you don’t have good soldering skills or are timid working with 28 or 30 gauge wire
in a cramped area, this may not be for you... There is an alternative method, I’ll mention that at
the end of the wiring modification.

The process is straight forward, and only four wires are involved, two for the servo motor and
two for the circuit board servo travel control.

TEST EACH SERVO, BEFORE AND AFTER MODIFICATION:

PROCESS:

1) Take a piece of masking tape and run it from one side of the servo case, around the front of the
servo(where the servo arm attaches) and to the other side of the servo case. This will hold the
front of the servo case on, after you remove the screws of the case..

2) Remove 4 screws that hold the servo case together.

3) Gently remove the back of the servo case.. This will expose the wiring and the small circuit
board.

SEE PICTURE::

4) At the top of the servo (small green dot, that’s the motor), cut the red and black wires at mid
point. Strip the wires and tin them.( You can use shrink tubing or a tiny piece of electrical tape to
insulate the wires) Reverse them, Black to Red, Red to Black. Solder.

5)At the bottom of the servo, you’ll see three leads, a Red, Yellow and Green wire..

DO NOT CUT THE YELLOW WIRE:::It’s a signal lead and does not require modification:

6) Same as step 4 concerning soldering... Cut the Red and Green wires. . Red to Green, Green to
Red.

7) This is the tedious part, put the back of the servo case back on.. Reinstall the four screws, take
the tape off..

That should be it...
Test each servo to make sure that your work has been done correctly.

ALTERNATIVE METHOD: Servo Reversing Cable

Mrsamm, provided this link to the Servo Reversing Cable.
Link :http://helihobby.com/html/helicopter_servo.html

The only factor is the cost, $9.99 each plus shipping,, a little less then the cost of a servo

The Servo Reverser is a quick and easy way to reverse the motion of the servo and it is ideal for flyers
who do not have a computerized transmitter

My verbiage may be lacking, if there is something you don’t understand, PM me.

Happy Soldering,

Dave / Choppersrule

Here is the link to the site that I found not too long ago. It's a wiki, so anyone who wants to can create articles and add them to the site. A guy named Brian owns and operates the site.

I went ahead and just copied and pasted your post over there for quick reference when you need to show someone how to do it. Let me know if it looks alright =) You can also add any other pages you want, or edit that one to your liking =)

Choppersrule Here:

Battery Tray:

Three ways to keep the battery tray rods from slipping..

1) Just a dab of CA to fix them to the skids.

2) A rubber band

3) A wheel collar

I don't have a picture of a CA fix, the rubber band and wheel collar fix is attached..

The collar in the pictures is just for reference, it's a main shaft retaining collar and is to big in Inside Diamater. You can get the right size at the LHS. A shot of black paint would make them invisable. You'd have to use a total of 4 collars, two forward, two aft.

I like to use the rubber band trick, it's fast and easy. Plus, when you have to change a main shaft, tear down is a piece of cake.

Battery Tray Rods::

Forgot on the earlier post.. Isn't just a pain to get the battery tray rods through those tiny holes in the skids....

Hmmm, computer brain is on and thinking...... Processing.......Problem resolved.....

See Picture: I just used my dremel tool with a cut off wheel, and used the side of it, and sharpened the end of the rod like the lead in a pencil... How easy is that. Makes for threading the battery tray rods through the skids a snap...
