RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

what pinion are you running? have you check the pitch? I ask because I just went brushless also. I am using everything that is in the manuel. seems a lot more power but flight time is down to about 7.5 minutes . I also have the dual tail motor on it.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

It is an 8-tooth gear on it. I went to the hobby shop and he said it is just a lot of gliching. The pitch is about the same as it was with the brushed motor (about 10 degrees). I have a direct drive tail on mine. He gave me a Himax 5400 motor to try to see if it eliminates the interference. Is this an ok motor for the heli?

try moving your esc somewhere else. Choppers rule just made a good post about this here

Should there still be interference if it is on the back of the heli underneath behind the battery? We tried putting it there and it still gliches.

hrm... check all the caps on the motors. Are they all connected well? and are there 3 on the main motor and 1 on the tail?

Hey folks,

I just got my CP Pro and wanted to ask a quick question...

I have the G-90 Gyro set up and wired to channel 5 on the TX, what should the gain be set at on the G-90 unit itself when wired up for channel 5 operation.
My apologies in advance if this has already been covered in this thread, I tried the search feature and was unable to locate the information myself.

Thanks !!!

Hey Parky50,

If you're wired to ch 5 then it should over ride the gain pot on the G90. make sure that the remote lead is oriented properly so that it
is plugged into the “signal” (like the orange wire on the servo leads) side of the receiver’s pins.

Thanks Captain Randy !!!

Look's like I'm wired up correctly. I'll see if I can get a decent hover going today...[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

Hey, I have a question. If anyone of you people have a DD tail unit, can you tell me approximately how long the tail motor lasts for?? Thankss!!:D

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

The estimates I have heard is double the stock motor. The stock motor should last 20 hours max, so going off of that I would say up to 40 hours (this is just a guess though). Depending on how much you let it rest in between flights, if you have a heatsink or not, what size of prop you are pushing with it, and how tight your gyro is will all play into it. I would expect anywhere from 20 to 40 hours (I know that's quite a range, but hopefully it will help)

Ok, thanks alot!:) I don't have a gyro though, and i am going to use to smaller prop.

i just got my 8103 dailed in and wow its like its not the same heli. by far the best upgrade! i am waiting on the dd tail i took the dual motor off and am going to give it a shot

What is that? I'm still a noob and I'm trying to learn more about helicopters. Is it a transmiter? or a reciever?

It is a Jr radio

its a transmiter from jr.

the transmiter is a great upgrade.

ok, that's what i thought. I am thinking about getting a DX6. but not anytime soon.

You might want to seriously look at the dx7 when you get to that point, becauase it has alot of nice features, like model recognition (wont let you fly the rc unless you have the right model selected, alot of people have crashed eq because they have the wrong rc selected in the menu, ie have e heli selected when they are flying a plane.

Also one thing to mention is that the stock Rx for the cpp is neg shift. So hitec and futaba 72mhz Tx's are just plug and play with them. You wont have to switch out the receiver.

i have a friend that did the futuba and it works great make the cp alot more fun to fly

Ok, thanks for the info. How would it make the heli more fun to fly though, does it make it handle better?

yup, exactly. Easier to fly because it handles and responds better, lowers the learning curve a bit, and is just overall more capable =)

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

Hey Guys,

Been reading up like crazy trying to figure out what is wrong with my CPP. Been to bladecprepair.com and read the entire bdavidson build thread and tons of other posts. The advice here is top notch and extremely helpful. Been "flying" the CPP since mid Jan and having a blast.

Had a crash recently that broke the mainframe at the tail boom. glued it back together and everything was fine. Broke again and decided to replace the frame, so basically a total rebuild. Now I seem to be having a servo travel/pitch problem. Swash is level and 1/2" from top of mainshaft. At max throttle (normal mode) the headspeed seems to drop and I can get maybe 5 ft off the ground. Motor is getting way hotter than it used to. Replaced the motor with another 9T and same result. Have checked pitch curves in norm ( -1/0 to +11/12) and idle up ( -6/7 to +12/13, with ~0 at center stick). In idle up the travel "bottoms out" at max negative collective (i.e. there is not enough room for the head to move up compared to the servo travel). With left/right cyclic the swash binds the mainshaft at about half stick either way (normal or idle up).

I took a lot of pictures and disassembled things as little as possible for the rebuild. I just removed the rotor head assebmly and didn't disconnect any servos from the receiver, etc. When the servos "center" on power up, they are not centered but raised slightly (maybe 5 to 10 degs). can't get them centered by moving the arm as it it too coarse of a gear mesh.

Sorry for the long post but am trying to answer obvious questions up front. My setup is stock motor, G90, Dual Tail, Eflite alum swash, Tail Fuse Mod, Paperclip Mod, Stock Radio (DX7 on order).

Any insights are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

yeah, it sounds like something is off, and it sounds like you are right in the trouble spot. The neg collective should be the same as the positive -12 or 13, and you said you are only getting 6. I would also make sure to use some 3 in 1 to lube the swash and the shaft and the main bearings, and work it out so you can get rid of that binding.

Also check to make sure that your main pinion is not too tight or loose against the main gear. There should be some play, but not enough that it skips teeth or would rip them off.

http://www.bladecprepair.com/man_mr_swashplate.html

you've probably already done that, but like you said, your problem is probably in your swash or head somewhere. My servo arms do not sit level either for the same reasons.

Go ahead and upload some of those pics, and we can look at it to see if we can see anything =)

oh yeah, and no prob here with the length of the post. I would much rather see a longer post with all of the info needed, than a 1 liner =)

Hi, i have a question. When i am hovering, and i am turning the nose to the left, the motor doest just slow down, it slows down, then jumps back to normal speed, slows down again, and goes fast again. Why is this happening? Howcome it is not smooth like turning right? Is it supposed to be like that? Thanks. Your help would be appreciated!:)

that's your gyro gain. That is the front pot on the 3 in 1. It looks like a little white screw. Unplug the battery, turn it down 1/16th of a turn or so and then arm it and hover it. If it is still doing it, then keep doing what I just said until it stops.

You could also have a cracked boom. That makes the gyro much more sensative.
