Default interference whit electric

Hello,I´fly my airplane full fiber glass and has interference, I put one new g3 futaba receciver , engine axi f3a, esc jeti spin 99 opto, duralite batteries 5000 mha. fail safe in-out at less 1 second.
Later I put one 149 dp futaba , continuos interference but less than g3 receciver. My transmiter is futaba mz 12.
Is posible the esc is put in my receciver interference? thank´s. Andres.

Hello Andres,

radio interference is possibile, yet unlikely, if the following advice is taken very seriously: never EVER put the ESC and the receiver in the same place or near. A good distance between the two is 20-30cm, the more the better. Furthermore, drive your antenna out of the fuselage and not parallel to control rods (especially if you used carbon fiber rods and/or a pull-pull system with steel wires).
If you still have interference check for interfering sources (other radio source) or bad/faulty crystal or receiver/FM module. It rarely is the receiver or the FM module, but it happened to me once...)

Hola Andres,

I had the same problem when I started with Electric pattern aircraft. I don't know anything about rx of Futaba, but when I testd the dual convertion rx of Graupner/JR the problems disappeared. Aside from this, I take the antenna outside like Neo02 and take also the rx far of the regulator and batteries.

What's your plane?,

Regards, Saludos.

I've been using the 149 DP pcm and have never had a glitch but thats 72 MHZ not sure what your on. I do keep everything as far apart as I can esc wire for RX goes on opposite side as anything else.

Keep the esc and receiver as far away from each other as possible. Route the antenna far away from dual servo leads in the tail, or if you use dual carbon rods such as the deps for elevators, route them away from this also.

Never had a glitch by doing this so far. I have heard of this with the g3 reciever with the electrics..
If the problem continues you should run a choke. From what I hear, it works well.

Installed on the esc/throttle line..

Here's a link to a thread about it.

Leoni,
I don't use a choke. I run Airtronics equipment in my ships.
I have heard of this issue with JR and Futaba. I am not talking bad about either here, maybe they are more sensitive. Plus I don't know anyone else running Airtronics and electric.

I especially heard of the issue with Futaba though. The 2048 receivers seem to be pretty sensitive. All that should go away soon when the spread spectrum modules and receivers come out for Jr and Futaba. I doubt they will make it for Airtronics as there's not as many people who would want them. We'll see.

I'm not guaranteeing that the choke will fix your problem. But I know of a few people that it did. And they run the 14MZ..
It's cheap. I would try it. It may just save your plane!!!

Try Twisting the ESC lead to the Rx. This has worked in the past

also twist the wires from motor to speed controller this will also help cut down on the EMI... I also run micro choke (single donut) about the size of a pencil eraser on the signal line from speed controller to rx. granted I'm flying a WCII 1024 and have never had radio problem.

Hola Andres,
The tisted throttle cable from the receiver is a good idea, and so is the choke, but there is one thing that is more important than either one of them.
As the throttle cable exits the ESC, make that cable turn at right angles immediately and run as far away from the heavy wires from the battery to the ESC.
Run the high current wires near one side (or top) of the fuselage and the cable to the receiver on the other side (bottom).
Even with the opto-isolation of the ESC inputs, the throttle cable is an antenna that runs deeply into electrically noisy "enemy territory".
esperando un buen resultado,
Deanm Pappas
