Thanks Chip
That's what I wanted to know. I've used 7776 clear before it is a very nice product especially if you need it to dry quickly.

Maybe I am getting old but it seems like nowadays the smallest thing excites me. I was just over at the laser cut shop and they handed me a bunch balsa that had been cut. It took me a second to realize what it was.

You know how there are two totally different ways to go when it comes to aileron servos, and when we build the planes we never know which one each customer is planning on using. Well now it doesn´t matter anymore as our boxes are set up for both. When you recieve your model you will get 8 laser cut pieces of 3mm lite ply. They have an interlocking tab that keys into the servo box. You use the larger ones for standard size servo and the smaller ones for the low profile. I attached some pics.

It was brought to my attention that we have not showed any landing gear or wheel pants for the new Visas and this person wanted to know if they all had the really cool single color (carbon) gear like mine or something else.

My plane has the carbon because we were in a hurry. All production planes have a two color gear and 3 color wheel pants unless otherwise specified. I attached a pic.

Yep, those were mine and they are 140g. I just received my Visa. It is even better looking in person than the photos, just like my comments about the prototype only this time its 10X because of the color scheme. I have to say that the paint scheme is a real knockout. I'll post more later.

Steve - happy to hear that you are really pleased with your Visa. I am anxious to get mine and get started on assembly. Did your's have the Ultracote covered bottom of the wing with the painted top? If so, how does it look. I like the idea because it gives you the opportunity to fix dings and dents from rocks and debris that may kick up when taxiing.

Just got the servos mounted in the Visa, I will start on the wings as soon as I get back in town. By the way the plane was worth the waite it is beautiful CA and Chip
have done a great job..
One thing I need to let everyone know (some of you may already know) is on the control horns that are supplied with the planes(Visa Pass-Port's and Onas also) the clevis has a ball bearning in it. Make sure the when you put the screw through the clevis you do so on the side where you can see most of the bearning. If not the clevis will slid off of the bearning. They are made this way so the bearning can be replaced.
Just let me know if you have any questions

This week has been a monumental week for us down here. As you guys know we added the all painted planes this year and with that a ton of extra steps and little problems along the way. The paint shop was getting really backed up so we made the decision Marcelo would stay at the one factory and I would be at the paint shop. Now at first I was really nervous about this because the last models I painted were Formula Ones in 93-94. Of course all of the products I new back then are still the same now (fillers, primers etc) but all the numbers are different and to top it off we are in Argentina. So Marcelo and I went to the PPG dealer and through Marcelo I was able to describe the products I was looking for and they had them.

Last week was also a short week due to a national holiday so nobody worked on Wed. However we were able to get a ton done and back on track. We finished Mike Muellers second Onas (ARF) Mike Kleins Visa, Dan Landis Visa, and Todd Blose Visa, and Gustavos Visa. I am jealous of every one of them.

Also by Marcelo being able to stay at the other factory without having to run back and fourth he was able to get a ton done. We now (finally) have in stock ARC Visa's and Onas's. A new laser cut rudder for the Visa/Passport split version and the planes that are being brought to the paint shop are complete and ready for primer. I have attached a couple pics showing a few different Visas that were all finished last week.

That one is for Gustavo here in Argentina. I didn't like it as much as some of the others until we cleared it. Then the purple really brightened up and I think it looks really nice. I know you have been wanting to see your stuff finished so here it is. The yellow Visa is for Glen Watson. It is one of the first two we had Daniel paint yellow in the mold. They came out really light, the second is for Sean.

OK guys,

Here’s a download of some pictures of my production Visa. Mine is in the same pink scheme as Chip’s. I got the shipment last Tuesday but haven’t had a chance to post anything until now.

I am probably not going to start construction until next week. I also received my new Passport wings with the Visa so I need to get those outfitted and installed so I can dial it in before the next contest.

I have to say that the paint scheme is a real knockout in person. Very sharp!!! The quality is really nice. As everyone has stated already, they have stepped up their game for sure.

The Ultrakote bottom/Painted top method on the wings and stabs came out really nice. There is a seam at the LE, but you can’t really notice it. I took some pics of it but I am not sure anything will actually show up.

The surface of the fuse is very flat, as are the wings and stabs. No washboard is visible in the sheeting.

The framework inside the fuse is done very cleanly as you can see.

The spinner with fan backplate is really nicely done and very light.

So, here are the weights. I can’t vouch for the accuracy of my scale, it’s a Harbor Freight special, but you’ll get the basic idea. This is as I took it out of the crate and haven’t done anything to it yet.

L Wing, Aileron, Bolt, and Nut: 350g
R Wing Aileron, Bolt and Nut: 365g
L Stab and Elevator: 100g
R Stab and Elevator: 100g
Split Rudder, both halves together: 75g
Both Landing Gear plus Wheel Pants all combined: 140g
Canopy: 125g
Fuse w/o canopy: 975g
Fuse + canopy: 1100g
Spinner plus backplate: 35g
Stab tube + anti rotation pin: 10g
Wing Tube: 55g

Now for some pictures:
