BTW it was a real honor for us to do this plane for Mike H. I have been admiring his planes for more then 25 years. Ever since we met in 85 when he had a gorgeous Cosmos. I never thought it would be possible that (without being a despiration lob at the buzzer) I would be building a plane for Mike. lol Just goes to show anything is possible

2nd sign of the Apocalypse. 1st was Arch Stafford going electric.

Beautiful model. Why does the new paint shop still look like the old paint shop?

I think you're right, too many signs of impending doom. I'm taking out a lot of loans that won't require 1st payment until 2012. I believe in the Mayans.

Uh-oh. The earth's rotation has been disrupted. I wondered how he intended to shoehorn a 1.70CDI into a WindS Pro.

I do believe we also overlooked mr Watson ordering a Visa to see what all the electric fuss is all about.

Signs Signs, everywhere is signs... Now is Roddy Ory cuts his hair the cycle will be complete and the change can begin...

I guess we just need to keep the Keymaster away from the GateKeeper.

Fun times.

I was googling today to get a set of wheelpants for my visa (don't ask) and found that google lists the CA model website as suspicious. The google link says that as of 8/16/2010 they found "six instances of malware on the 4 pages" that they tested from the website. I'm sure that CA isn't trying to distribute malware, but likely the site has been hacked and the malware planted there. I have no way of contacting them other than through the forum here, so I thought I'd try this post.

Sincerely,

G Miller

I am not familiar with the computer stuff but I will have Marcelo check with the web guy about the malware deal. Sorry it is not intentional.

Now onto other things. A few posts back was some talk about the Apocalypse, and I just thought this might be one more sign. We have just finished two Visas for AC. He had contacted us earlier in the year but already had some prior commitments and decided to stay with them for the Nats.

Anyway he had exspessed an interest in the Visa with a custom scheme and colors so this is what we came up with for him. I think it is a nice change so we are going to offer his scheme along with the others for the Visa.

George if you need wheel pants its no problem we can paint them and send them up with someones plane to save the shipping.

Hi Chip,

I certainly didn't think the "threats" were intentional...just wanted to make you guys aware of the issue. My wheelpants are fine, but I'm not happy with the way I attached them and want another pair to mount differently.

I may try it with a spare set of bollies that I have left over.

thanks,

George

No prob let me know if you still would like a set at a later date. The central hobbies axels work great and they seem to hold the pants on fine. Easy and simple. AC´s plane still did not look quite right in the pic so we went back and made a few changes. Heres a pic of them ready for clear.

Thanks Chris,

The wings and stabs are paint as well for AC´s planes, I am just waiting on them at the moment. Marcelo says I will have them tonight (or MANANA lol) so hopefully we should have some pics tomorrow or wed. We just shot clear on the fuse´s along with the first Visa, with an Onas scheme. This plane is pretty cool because it belongs to the guy that is responcible for assembling most of the CA planes that leave here. His name is Augusto and this is his first new plane in quite some time. As always it was a pleasure to do something different even if it was an Onas scheme on the Visa.

Chic I am sorry for not responding sooner I was traveling when I got your pm and forgot. As far as a contest setup for the DV I am at a loss because it was never really intended to go in a straight line lol. PM me your number and I will give you a call. Say hi to all the guys at PGRC for me.

AC´s planes finished. They are as close to identical as we can do. They go Monday to get the radios and motors installed and shipped on wed. I have seen enough of these things now that I normally do not assemble them at the paint shop but I had to see this one put together.

We really enjoy custom schemes.

Very nice looking scheme. Just wanted to let you know I finally flew the Visa I purchased at the Nats. Still working on trim. I expect to be close tomorrow. So far no mix for knife-edge. Very solid feeling in the air. I believe it will fly very well in the wind. I have two weeks to get ready for the next contest in D2 and I believe it should be no problem with this airplane. Great design Chip!

Thank you very much I am glad you like it. It has been quite a while since I was able to put this kind of time and effort into pattern. Some of that was life in general, the rest was just not being focused in this direction. I am thoughly enjoying this part of the hobby now and have no intention of doing anything else for quite some time.

Unfortunately we occasionally (first time this year) have an individual that sends Marcelo a ton of emails, asks a ton of questions, orders a custom plane, and then doesn´t pay for it. Here are some pics of a beautifully built Visa (Different colors then normal all paint) that is now hanging here doing nothing because of this. If anyone has an impulse PM me and we can discuss the details. It is 100% ready to go tomorrow if need be.

I was still in the states when this deal took place after the nats so I was not involved, however I can tell all of you that things like this ruin it for everyone as far as having to prepay for the planes. I am sure he had a good reason, but CA is a small company that either has to be able to take peoples word for things or charge in advance. This was the case and the word didn´t pan out.

G'day Chip,

I would think a 10% (or more) down payment for a model like this would be the norm... I would expect to pay a deposit and always offer if suppliers don't ask for it. It's basically a firm commitment. It's a shame that one individual will ruin things for everyone else. That's life I suppose.

Cheers,
Jason.
