Os. if you like the mini titan i think you would like this. feels extremely solid. it shares the same feathering shaft, main shaft, flybar, dampners, etc...with the mini titan. the main gear is compatible with trex 450. boom and all tail parts are compatible with mini titan. only thing difference is the frame. design is different. its more narrow. i'm very pleased with it.

check out the pics. the tail is like the trex450 style. and also how it connects to the frame. the thunder tiger version the boom mounts on a bracket and the bracket slides into the frame. the exi pro is just like the trex450 style in which you slide the boom into the boom mount and secure it with screws. maintaince is the same.

Anyone know what size Axi or GP Ammo motor might work out out pretty good for the Titan? I have some tower credit and I figured I might try to find a motor that might work.

3d. nice!
when your building it dont over-tighten the screws. could strip the plastic. the swash plate moves down for positve pitch. loc-tite all SCREWS GOING INTO METAL especially the head area...like the spindle shaft. loc-tite the tail rotor hub and grips screws.
as for motor get something that can haul this bird. after all its not lightweight fully loaded. i run the scorpy 6 on it. very nice power. i have also run the JustGoFly 500Th brushless on it. that's nice as well. whatever you do get a motor that performs and you wont regret it. and a good motor is under 60 bucks brand new. get a decent esc to go with it. at least a 40a. 55a is ideal. i'm running the scorpion 55a esc on mine.

What is it about a new radio that makes all your planes, with exactly the same settings, fly so much better?
Nice, 3d-wanna-b
. You're going to have a great setup.

I've just got started on my MT build and I want to do everything I can to have a smooth running heli. I was wondering when I get done with the head what is the best way to balance it if its out of balance??

I just balanced the blades for mass and spanwise CG. The head itself shouldn't be bad right out of the box, but if you want to check you can use the heli as a fixture- without the gear on the mainshaft, temporarily hold the airframe in a vise so that the mainshaft is held out horizontally in the main bearings and can spin freely.
Do remember that getting this absolutely right can be difficult, so if it seems like the balance is off, you may not be getting accurate results. Until you get to fly it, I'd not go beyond balancing the blades.

get a digital caliper if you dont already have one. i followed the direction on the manual, used my digital calipers for measurements on the linkages, and it tracked perfectly straight out of the box. i didnt have to adjust a single linkage. the blades was balance and tracked without issue.
its a nice kit to build also. i really enjoyed building mine. instructions are easy to follow. enjoy it! take a picture of it. cause its never going to look the same again.

Thought I'd post where I'm at in my build. I still like getting the ESC & servos. I got my blades balanced perfect but have a slight problem. It seems that one of the root ends are bigger than the other and when you put the blades on one is very tight to the point to where when you tighten the bolt you can see the blade grip bend. What would be a good set of blades to go with?? I'm also (I think) having a problem with the tail blades also. I'm not sure if they shoud be this way or not but when you look at the blades from behind they both curve towards the boom like they are warped?? anyone have this problem? You cant tell from the pics but I've replaced all the phillips head screws with hex head ones from hexcrews.com and I can tell you its worth the time cost $14.00 and that includes the shipping charge, decals, and extra screws. I think they fit and look much better the stock ones.

Glad you know about the hidden pot. That's what I wanted to make sure. If you have not seen the AXE 400 forum, there is much discussion on it. I built my Mini-Titan about a year ago, with a GY-401 gyro. Several months ago the gyro failed and so I bought an HM-4000 to replace it. It did work, but it tended to drift and didn't have the locked in feel I was used to on the GY-401. Unfortunatly, that was before the discussion on the hidden pot, so I never tried to adjust it. After I had the HM-4000 for about a month, I discovered that the GY-401 was still in warranty. I sent it back to Futaba, who shipped me a new one within about a week, so I replaced the HM-4000 with the new GY-401. I was thinking about building another mini-titan and usiing the HM-4000, so when you get your mini-titan finished, I would be curious to know how it works once you adjust the hidden trim pot.

whoa whoa whoa. have you guys heard of the g401b? its said to have the hold of the genuine gy401 for a fraction of the cost. 42 bucks shipped to be exact. i have one but have not tested it yet. i am building a helicopter just to test shortly.
there is a large amount of people confirming how kick-arse it is!
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=956825 also chaos rc is listed as one of the shops you can buy one from but stay clear of this place. the kid who runs it is a scammer.

If it was a quality product would it need to sponge off the Futaba GY401s name ?
I have found that any product that needs to sponge its credability of another companies product and reputation is bound to be a disappointment.

Yes that is true.
But there are a lot of knock-offs coming from chinese brands.
Most of them are very equal in quality to the expensive ones.
If you read/see good reviews than why not?
I´m actually thinking in buying one of these, or just go to hobbycity and buy one gyro with good reviews.
Futaba, spartan or logicteh are too expensive for me.
If it wasn´t for all of these knock-offs I wouldn´t have a brushless system in all of my cars, a lot of lipo battery´s or cheap servos.
