Just take a FA-18 and make a low level high speed pass over them and watch as they try to swim back to shore! Splintered boat and no shots fired!

Geez, why doesn't Spektrum just make things correctly is the first place? Their business model is to make crappy products and back them with a liberal warranty. They will replace things at the drop of a hat, but it would be better to never have to ship them back at all.

I have a DX7 so it really does not affect me (YET!!). The recall notice does not say what the defect really is.

It's glitchy pots. This has been around a few months but they just implemented the recall.

LMAO...they're making tons of $$$$ and they keep helicopter and plane parts hopping. I've had two DX6's...CCPM problems, and DX7....brownouts due to crappy antenna connector. Lucky for me.....I didn't smash my helicopter, but my F-16...well, it didn't fare too well. None of the electric were injured, so I'll just order a bare bones for $50 and build another. BTW....it will be hooked to a FUTABA......not a SPUNKTRUM.

LOL....you know those micro connectors on medical electronics? That's what this DX7 has with MICRO COAX for an antenna.......what a nightmare. Besides....I'm sure the DX7 is headed for a parts drawer when the FUTABA gets here.

Ok, I'm working on putting my exi together but have a question about mounting the servos. I'm taking them off my belt cp which has a thick plastic frame. On the esky they were just mounted with sheet metal screws, do you install them the same way on the metal frame exi? It doesn't seem like there is that much frame for the screw to bite into.

NO....in the EXI kit, there should be some plastic NUTS...they're small and black in color. You MUST put a nut on each screw. I have a tiny set of needle nose pliers I use to hold the nuts while tighting the screws. It's the worst part of putting the EXI-450 together....installing servos.

ok guys. question.. i installed a new one way bearing.. i oiled the bearing.. i notice the heli is not as "punchy"... do you think the oil is making the one-way bearing slip?? i was thinking about taking it back out and rinsing the oil back out with some contact cleaner.. i am using a 12t pinion, thinking about going up to a 13t..

Check gear mesh on the motor and the tail drive system....sounds like something's too tight. Also check that you re-installed that little spacer that goes above the main gear...keeps the main gear off the frame...somethings assured not to be right....look close, it's the small stuff that'll kill ya.

Hey guys....checking in. Got the new 2.4 gHz antenna for the DX7....it still kicked out on me. All I can say is...."Spektrum, YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!!", 3 bad radios is enough for anyone.

Say hello to FUTABA......... It's not 2.4gHz, but I NEVER had a Futaba screw up on me...ever.

Ya know....I went from 30a to 40a thinking I'd gain some, and I did. But 2x the required? Isn't that a tad OVERKILL? A good 30a will do the trick nicely if you wanna pay for it (Pheonix...etc).
We hit 100 pgs....hanging in there.

I just sold the new 60A Hobbywing that was sent to me. I was supposed to get a 40A. I sold it because it adds another 40 grams in weight and was much bigger.

Edit: I am trying to score a JR 6102 TX + RX off someone for $60. Maybe I won't be grounded til I get my DX6i back.

You guys are good! Keep me on track! Thanks. I will stick with a 40A...Heck, right now I'm using a 25A...

Hi all,
Still working on my EXI. I think I have all the parts except for the esc and blades. What does everyone think of the esc from Castle Creations. I have one on my HBK2 and have not had any trouble with it yet.

Castle Creations is generally good stuff...TRY it. Blades....I suggest 315mm Align Pro's, they work great and hold tracking great as well.
