Default Range Check

Futaba 18mz
Can anyone please explain in detail how to do a range check on this radio. I have repeatedly tried to follow the manual, however, the manual leaves out many of the steps. I can never get to the menu that says "transmitter outputs a weaker signal. Perform a range check ? YES (button)
Thanks

To enter the Range Check mode, hold S4 while turning on the transmitter. The is the far right-hand button that's below the touch screen. The transmitter will then display a screen that says, "Transmit?" Press "NO". Then go into the System Menu and then the Range Check function. It will ask you if you wish to perform a range check. If you do, press the "Yes". The transmitter will be in a power-down mode for 90 seconds and the display shows the countdown. If you need more time, just press "Restart". If you're done, press "Exit" or just let the time run out. Return to the main screen in the normal manner. The transmitter will be back at full power.

Thank you for responding. As soon as I press the "range check" button in the system mode, I get a WARNING that says "Non-default condition".
At that point there are no options left. I see nothing in the manual that talks about this.

"Non-default condition" means that you have a condition active. You need to move the condition switches to turn off your conditions. Condition 1 is the default condition.

Page 99 of the manual describes the warnings and how they are set in the transmitter.

Wow and double wow,

Without you Bax, I would have never figured this out. Apparently, there is another manual that I am not aware off. On page 99 of my manual there is no reference to "Range Check" being linked to "Conditions" .
Now I totally understand why calling the support number (217-398-8970) does not work with this radio. Every time I have called it, the first thing the gentleman says is that no one there is familiar with this radio. He asks for my phone number to have another person call me back, however, they never do. Is there another number for support on this radio ? I have a few more questions that I would like to get answered if possible. I can't thank you enough for your help. Thank You Thank you !!!!

Range check is not linked to conditions. The transmitter has warnings, and will not transmit unless you know it's safe to do so. Setting a non-default condition warning prevents you from having the model turn on and link with the system setup incorrectly. Once the non-default condition has been corrected, then the transmitter will turn on. Page 99 sets the warnings. You can elect to have the warning, and to also have the transmitter vibrate when it gives the warning. Or you can cancel getting the warning entirely.

Since updating my 18SZ to firmware update 3.3, I cannot select the range check option....it's grayed out so to speak. Screen display is "Currently transmitting (RF ON) Range check is unavailable." Obviously I've missed something....can anyone help? Thanks!

I observed this on mine as well with 3.2. The easiest thing is to turn on the TX with your throttle all the way up. You'll get a warning and see a "RF OFF" box in the lower right hand corner of the display.

Tap that

Then go into SYSTEM->RANGE CHECK and it will work.
