Thanks for the info Ed, I've been watching these forums for a long time before I found this G90, and to find one new never run, well i'm very excited to say the least.

I thought some new guys took over BME.

You may be right, but I don't recall it. Memory isn't my specialty these days. I hope Keith is back.
Well, there you go. Shows you what I don't know or remember these days. But all of you knew that. I was the one that forgot.
Sorry to the knew proprietors.

Hi, Karroll, I hope all is well with you and yours.
I really like BME products. I especially miss my G90 gasser. Can't remember why I sold it. Maybe I'll pick up another some day.

Ed,
I'm fine just trying to get through a bout of 'pink eye'. In my glow days I mostly only flew ST's, and not too long ago thought about getting one of the gas 90's, but opted for a G20 from Ralph .... jewel of an engine.
Capt,n,
That's a really good one [sm=wink_smile.gif]

What is the power rating on these motors? Would they be suitable for say, H9 Corsair or H9 P-47? Saito came out with another gasser from the 1.25 but the price is outrageous. I thought these weren't available any longer as well.

The concensus of opinion a couple of years ago was that if the model would fly satisfactorily with a glow .60, then the BME G90 would be perfect, assuming the extra weight of the ignition system wasn't a problem. Lighter fuel load of the BME G90 will make up for some of the weight of the battery/ignition module versus the glow G90's large fuel load.
Keith was saying, I think, that the BME G90 ran pretty even with the glow G90. But the glow G90, being made in a smaller than normal 90 size glow crankcase wasn't as strong as the old dedicated .90 sized glow engines such as the Webra and the OS .90 glow two-strokes. Not .91 OS, the .90 OS of some years back. It was a good deal stronger than the modern OS .91FX engines run.
It gets really confusing. I understand why everyone wants to learn the results of how the BME G90 actually flew. Me too.

I got two .90 Supertigers just setting here collecting dust. I got a ignition now that actually works to place on it. I need to know what walbro or zamba carburator to put on it. Then I can take a piece of round stock and cut out a adapter from round stock aluminum. Or I could try and run it with the stock carb on it. I also have Klotz oil to mix in fuel. I bet on a plane in a slight dive and down the runway, a gas powered .90 engine would sound great on spark ignition! Capt,n
P.S. More oil = more power!

I was thinking of buying one of these little motors but I see they are now up to $399.- plus shipping. Can't see spending that kind of money on the motor. Would have considered it at their original price of $369.- I guess someone will come now and say it is a deal at $400.-. I don't think so.
Maybe I will buy the Webra for the same price??

Why have none of you just run the $130.00 dollar glow version G90 on E85 for $179.9/gallon with a little Klotz or your preferred oil at about 18% and an O.S. F plug? I have been doing this and have great success. In fact all my glow engines are running on no nitro. It is very inexpensive and reliable fuel.

This is what I have been considering too, but I'll use a spark plug instead of a glow plug.
Granted, it won't be "high performance" flying, but most of us just want to putt around anyway at half throttle, so slightly less power won't really make a difference anyway. The money savings will be significant.

The E85 here dropped to 178.9 per gallon yesterday.
There is no need for a spark plug and ignition. But if you desire to run the plane's weight up that is your business. The E-85 runs like glow fuel except there is no nitro in the mix. Instead there is about 15% gasoline. It will burn with the same results as glow except the replacement of standard 2 stroke glow plugs with an O.S. F four stroke plug.
A tank of E85 lasts longer than glow and less that gas. I gave been making test runs with different motors to see how well, how long, and importantly how hot all my motors run on this mixture. For the most part many of my engines new and old run on E85 with 18% Klotz Supertechniplate (80% syn, 20% castor).
AGAIN REMEMBER THAT WITHOUT THE HIGHER TUNGSTEN O.S. F four stroke plug you will have rough midrange and no smooth idle. When all my studies and calcualations are finished my intensions are to post them in video form for the non-beleivers.
You Super Tigre owners will see the value of your large bore monster Tigres become very appealing with this fuel method. I will demonstrate inverted mounting of a S2000, Moki 1.8 and show you that not only these motors run on E85, but the run inverted as well.
The interesting about this is the temperatures that I am taking with infrared thermometer. The E85 is actually running cooler in some applications. Will publish numbers when the spreadsheet is finished.
That's all for now. Back to work
