yes they are. I covered it in the same pattern as Hazel Sigs clipped wing Cub, except I didn't want blue and white.
this is another picture of it. I was making a pesentation to a nursing home. Had lots of fun with the residents.

that was very kind of you [sm=thumbup.gif]

Regarding the question of a 26cc power.... I am flying a 540 EdgeT Lanier it is an old plane with 14 pounds of weight, I remember that I askhere in RCUwhat kind of propeller to use because the 18x8 was not doing it job, someone recommends to use what they call the best of both worlds 17x8N (APC) 7800rpm and it was the answer to my problems, I’m not a hotdogflyer but I like to do some stuff, not enough powerto do 3D, now I’m flying my Edge 75" 25% with good power that came from my RCGF 26cc,the engine Ihave isone of the older versions with many many hours on it, I bought use it and still good.I have read that this 26cc engine will performgreat between 10 to11 pounds range.<o></o>

Well Gents, here are the numbers on my engine that I promised. WOT-high 8000 to low 8100. Idle low 1900 to high 2000. Running a 16/8 MAS prop. Was able to adjust the engine while it was running. Had to turn it up side down but I am pleased with the way it is at present. Now remember, I only have less than a quart of fuel run through it. I will go to a 17/8 next and see what the numbers are.[8D] [8D]

In my opinion that's to high of a rpm to be breaking in. Would strongly suggest useing a 17/8. IMHO

An XOAR 18x8 is a much better prop and you will be pleased that you spent the few extra $ they are very high quality props .

I do agree that the Xoar is a much better quality/performing prop, but IMHO the 18x8 will provide too much load for the engine , so I suggest you use a 17x8.

I think that I am going to try the 17/8. I don't want to lug the engine down.

Another suggestion, If you really like the Mas props try one of their scimitar props. Holds its shape a little better.

For me, I use the same size prop for breaking in the engine that I plan on using for normal flying. If you have adequate prop to ground clearance, based on the model you have there I would suggest using a 18X6 prop for possibly the best all around performance.

Watch the rpms on these engines they eventually will fail if you over rev them, remember they will unload in flight adding to the peak. They have caged roller bearings in them that have rpm limits.
Always use the recomended prop sizes. If you need more speed, higher rpm's, you should think about a different engine. The new 20cc and 32cc can both rev higher than the 26cc.

Nope don't need any more speed or rpm's. I am flying a cub at maybe 1/2 throttle. My main concern has been that the engine was not running very smooth. The engine has more than enough power for that plane. Take off's are at 1/2 throttle. I did run some numbers on the flight stand this morning and that is why many have suggested that I go to a 17/8 or 18/8 prop. I have a 18/8 apc or a 16/10 prop here at the house. Was going to go and get a 17/8 but looking at Tower they have a 17/6 or a 18/6 xoar. Not sure which one to get.

Go with the 18/8 apc. Not as heavy as the Xoar and has some flex so it should give good thrust at an appropriate rpm. Only after broke-in, Till then stay with a17/8 or 16/10.

It makes a popping sound. It is almost like it is to rich. I adjusted it this morning while it was running and I got closer but still seems to have a miss in it (more so at WOT,than 1/2 throttle). I don't know how to explain it.

Check your battery power or it could possibly be caused by the ignition.

Wide open throttlewithout enough load will do that also. My os .46 engines were so bad I put a silencer on them just to not hear it. OS .46 with 12/4 apc on a swanyhouse profile. Could hover all day or head for the stars and make popcorn while doing it.LOL

My 45 did the same thing, "popping or missing" at WOT. Changed the spark plug and it went away.

Remember the ignitions for these are set up for load. Without enough, basically the engine is a little farther ahead of the fire.

Gregg, Have a question for you. Does anyone make a Top Dead Center tool for these small engines?
