DLE30!

I have been running mine since sep 1
I'm using 89 oc 50-1 belray h1r and a 19X8 xoar
It has been a great running motor never dies, great power, smooth, and easy to tune.
On my pilot yak it has crazy power, more than my 50cc planes.
I have got a 2nd one for my new plane a DVII. after the first one ran so good.
I have not done any mods just put it on the plane and tuned it one time and have not had to do anything since.

Yes it is mounted on a angle...about 20 degrees...did that long ago. I mentioned that in my postings way back. I wanted to do video then...but the computer did not want to give me the GO. I ran the engine twice today. the 2nd time with a rag cramed in between firewall & engine. I got my camera ready an restarted the engine...it warmed up and i had to set the speed slower. You can see that on the video when I reach and turned the idle speed screw out. Capt,n

Hi what I was wondering Jody is since you basically sell these things what do you rec as a pipe. What has your experience been as a seller of this engine and aftermarket pipes. Extreme flight mentions the ES with the syssa.
Second From the Extra 78 thread:
The stab is 2 piece and mounts on a carbon tube. So far the gas/glow version has been flown on a Y.S. 1.40 with great results. I have one of the brand new SYSSA 30cc gas engines on the way for testing as well as a DLE-30. I am really looking forward to trying both of these motors. I will be running an ES Composites carbon pipe with the SYSSA and I think this is going to be an amazing set-up. The engine is already producing 19 lbs of thrust with the stock muffler, so with the pipe it should really be amazing. I would expect to receive the shipment around the end of October. As soon as I receive confirmation that the container ship is on the water we will begin accepting pre-orders. I"ll make an announcement here when that happens.

Don't know who makes a header that fits the DLE and the EF 78. The EF 78 electric version is due to arrive before thanksgiving (with the 88" Edge 540T), the gas version in December, so you'll have to wait for a manual to be available. I own both the 88" gas and the 48" electric versions and these planes are the best! The 78" Extra seems to be even better and has an adjustable stab incidence.

Like you said the plane is not out in the gas version for a bit so what I am trying to do is get the list of what i need and various options so when its here i can get going on it ASAP. I also see there is some reported issues with the DL30 (my buddy has had them as well). So if I dont have the plane I am not going to buy the engine right away that has some reported issues wether they are blown out of proportion or not.
I would also would like to think a guy that sells the engines would have tested some other exhausts systems out and would have more to say then just pointing out another posters link with the word THE. If you have no experience with it then just say so no big deal... Maybe you did get into it in other posts and I am not seeing it. [X(]

Anything a Dealer comes up with and it works good, like a tunned pipe would help him sell more engines and anything that makes his line of engines perform better will in turn help his bisiness. Capt,

TBM has this engine for sale with your choice of 1 out of 4 accessories for free. One accessory is the 42% Opto-Kill switch. They are also offering $15 discount. The total for the engine with the 42% Opto-Kill and shipping comes to $304.00! TBM offers "in house" repairs and full warranty. Not trying to bash "the other guys" just letting you all know where to get a good deal. I think TBM is a reputable seller. A friend of mine bought a Pilot-RC 33% YAK 54 from them that had some issues and TBM replaced a wing panel with no questions asked. Speedy

A dealer has to go out and buy all the exhaust appointments just like anyone else. So to test out a few different pipe combinations will likely cost that dealer upwards of $600.00 or more to come up with ONE pipe/header combination that works just perfect for the one engine/prop/plane combination that they might be working with. Gonna have to sell a few engines just to break even on the experimental exhaust parts.
Better to do like the Chinese do. Let the customers experiment with the exhaust so the manufacturers can then make them up and sell them. Oh, forgot. People thinks everyone else should spend the money except them....

I too have had a great experience with TBM.
I have one of thier Magic Hands Yak 54 and love - great buy!
And yes - they have a great offer going on the DLE 30 - maybe better than most and they do warranty service - not the China sellers!

Wearing my official CH Electronics hat.
Single bolt conversion for DLE 30 and a hub holder/hub puller.
The holder will work on the DLE 30, DLE 55 and DLE 111 AND most engines with a 4 or 6 bolt hub
Both are in-stock. Give us a call for info and pricing....307 857 6897

Terry, I and a good machinist friend designed a prop drilling jig, but I can see your adapter would make things a lot less work in changing props fast. I bet some guys would like to have another version to extend the prop out just a little, that may sell good too? Keep up the good work. Capt,n

Not if you install it correctly, if you have any questions or concerns when doing so you can call me or Terry. I've installed it on one engine so far and I think it's great, yes I have ran it also. Gonna put one on my 55 next, just got them in.

Now for you do it your-self people that have a lathe. Look at the photo below and visualize 4 bolts that line up with The 4 DLE hub bolts. Last thing you will need to leave a center-ing lip on back side. You guys that have lathes or know someone who does...this will work! Capt,n
