Jack sent me a bare engine with carb. This engine while it turned over freely had more crud in it than the first one, but no aluminum swarf.
I'll run the engine and see whats what. Who knows, maybe it will outperform the DLE anyway. I'm concerned about the con rod not having oil slits or holes and the size of the top of the rod looks narrow compared to the DLE.

WOW I doubt that a MT -35 is in my future after reading that.
My dle-30 was spotless inside when I took it down, I just can't imagine what they are thinking leaving that sort of trash in there engines.
No oil hole's on the rod is that on both ends or just the big end?
Thanks for the heads up Brian.

Down the road we're going to have some pretty good choices in the 30cc class engines.

I want to remind you that this is the DLE thread and I am not going to let it be Hijacked by MT.
Any more MT talk will be removed.

Put another couple of flights on my DEL30 equipped Aeroworks 25% Edge and am still leaning the low end a touch at a time. Other than some mid range burble the engine ran beautifully. I "almost" think it's overpowered my Edge !
Running a Xoar 18x8 and Huskvarna oil at 40 to 1.

I ran my DLE 30 for the first time today, since getting it earlier this week, seem to have good power on a JXF 18x6, turned 8400. I know this isnt the right prop size but i already had it. I will try a 18x8 xoar maybe tomorrow after work. It would only idle down to about 1900.
The only thing I didnt like, was seem's to have more vibration than the other two gasser i have or had G38 and SPE 26. and by the way i can tell it will kick the spe 26's butt and i think i will match the G38

RR24 I'm not sure what your altitude is there but guessing its low from the turns that your getting with the 18x8 I'm sure your correct in thinking that you will need another prop, Jody has been using a 19X8 Xoar Laminated and getting about 7300 with the stock exhaust. Just remember you will gain approx 800-1000 turns in the air.
I bought the 18x8's for myself but i'm higher and know for a fact I won't see the turns you lucky guys at close to sea level get POUTS. That little 30 is a potent little engine and light to boot.
I have been so busy here I have not even drilled one out let alone be able to run it.

I ran it with Xoar 18x8 tonight and got 7900 and it would idle about 1800, only have about 1/3 of gal. through it, if that. The higher vibration i see with this engine concerns me a little, since i havnt seen this in the other two gasser's i had. But i am fairly new to gas so that might just be the way some are.

That sounds like good rpm. Did you set the timing?

It would be nice for sure.
