Has anyone else noticed the venturi problem with the carby. Is a velocity stack the answer?
Ask TOM....Maybe he will write a book on his wonders about the carby venturi![X(]

ROFLMAO!!!!

Ya think he'll publish sequels to the first one?

I don,t hear that much about blowback on the DLE30cc engines. I never had any on my DLE 30. Capt,n
Mine has blow back. I coats the inside of the cowl pretty well, and after about 5 flights leaves enough to pool at the cowl ring.

Every one I've ever run does it, more than any other engine I've seen,a v-stack does help but the Cyberplate cures it.

I just ordered a Pilot 26% 260 for mine. I hope it turns out to be a good match for the 30.

One very good way to cure a lot of the spit back is to use a tapered velocity stack anh install a wire mesh screen on the largest intake of the stack. The fuel will be stopped long enough to be drawn back into the engine. I have read that it makes fuel economy better....not sure on that! Its more the way you drive/fly...your mileage may vary. Hey...where is Antique lately????

Shovelhead = pre 1968 Harley

Barstool = something to stay away from if the padded part is on the floor. Better still, immediately exit the bar where a barstool so positioned is found.

The shovelhead motorcycle engine is one that many custom chopper owners are proud to own. This V-Twin powerhouse was manufactured by Harley Davidson beginning in 1966 and ending in 1985, and reflected refinements from the other types of V-Twin engines Harley had produced such as knucklehead and panhead engines......Capt,n

The above referenced refinements endeared it to some, and to others it became the "Troublehead"

Speaking of which, seeing as I ordered a Cyberplate from Richard I figured I should get the engine. So I placed an order for one from my dealer. Oh well, now I guess I am going to need another plane. Dang it never ends does it? Can't think of allot of better ways to spend money though, my wife begs to differ.
My wife gave me a ration one time for buying an airplane, the next week I went to the casino, blew $300, came home drunk and tried to accost her. She's warmed up to airplanes some.
I tried that once. When I came too,I had knotts all over my head.

Lost the ignition on my DLE30 yesterday. I thought using an A123 battery with the battery eliminator was OK the guys at Troy Built say you need to use a voltage regulator also. Just ordered a new CDI and voltage regulator $130 later prblem solved

How did you lose the ignition system? Did I read this post right? Did I just see 2 ignition failures from 2 different guys. Ok you got to clarify what exactly happened. Was it user error or did the ignition just go south? Please be long winded and spell it out. I have to ask. Still on the fence on which engine I want for the T-craft. It will be either the DLE30 or the Zenoah G26ei. If your ignition failed how many hours do you estimate you had on the engine before failure? Would it be a warranty issue?

Thanks

P.S. How did we go from the original subject to Harleys, bar stools and blow? LMAO.

Guess I am the odd man out. I have run two rcxell ignitions on A123 batteries for two years now, one has about 100 flights and the other about 30. No problems or failures as of yet. I know, I know.

Ok this question is a little off topic but topic related. Here goes.

1. I have found a wholesaler overseas (alibaba) I can get an engine for a dang good price and the price includes shipping. The savings are substantial.

2. Has anyone here ever done business with them? If so how was the service and how long did it take to get your merchandise here?

I would appreciate any response.

Thanks
Glenn

<span style="color: #ff0000">Many people have done this, many with good results, some get burned, it's a roll of the dice and you will have no warranty here in the states. One trip back to China for a warranty
repairand your savings are gone.

I would appreciate any response.

The Rcexl ignition system that comes with the DLE30 isthe best ignition system made for our enginesnext to CH Ignitions system, most Chinese engine manufacturers equip their engines with them. Why they failed.....stuff happens, sounds like one of them may have been fed to high of voltage without a regulator, that's a good way to kill one for sure. Over voltage failures are not covered under warranty Bill's would have been covered under warranty if he hadn't invented the thing in the first place.

Alibaba is a manufacturer and distributor database, not a vendor for anything, many, many, companies listed there.
Including quite a number of scammers that happily take your money but don't send any goods (because they never had them in the first place).

I understand your aim is to get the best price possible (according to your previous post about capitalism at work ) but let's say that your investment gains are likely have have an unacceptable risk associated.

Why don't you just bite the bullet and order your engine from Jody?
The time you have already spent (and continue to spend) plus the risk you take. I dare say the engine will cost you more than buying locally

I just looked up the WRCIBE on the TBM website and there are three versions (1) for unregulated 5 and 6 cell Nimh/Nicd and 2 cell A123 batteries (pn WRCIBEF) and (2) for four cell Nimh/Nicd or any regulated 5-6 volt (pn WRCIBEF4C) and the last one (3) for unregulated LiIon/LiPoly (pn WRCIBEFION). If you had the P/N WRCIBEF4C version and used a 2 cell A123 then I can understand the failure and the statement by TBM that you also needed to use a voltage regulator however, if you used the version intended for use with a 2 cell A123 version P/N WRCIBEF then I do not understand. I am sure many of us would be very appreciative if you could tell us which version you had that failed. Thanks

Howard
