The trouble with prop calculators is that there are dozens of them, but, that way you can always find one that will give you the result you want.

Pete, I described that sound as high frequency bee like buzzing.

Have you come to any conclusions yet? on a funny note i've always said glossy playboy magazine covers make the best saito gaskets, they can take up a lot of slack when needed, just like skulling a dr pepper..

No sir, I just dug around and found the parts that would work and moved on, I still need to run the 1.30. It has faux pax that I've never mentioned, the exhaust rocker cover had the lower bolt twisted off inside the rocker stand. It was an easy fix, I simply pressed the rocker cover down tight with a rubber jawed furniture clamp and drilled and tapped a hole for a 2-56 x .125" screw near the bottom edge of the cover. Works like a champ and is down out of sight. Red Loc-tite holds a screw in the abandoned hole. A left cylinder is not readily available.

Saito 130 cam difference between right and left, the left cam has the lobes splayed way out.

It turned out very nice.

This prop thrust calculator has earned my trust for thrust numbers and pitch speed. I have a calibrated digital weight scale that verifies the calculator thrust numbers are accurate within 4% using apc props. Now hp is a different story, the calculator does not correct for air density changes which I know is wrong. It does however correct thrust numbers with changes in air density. The hp numbers even though not accurate for varying air densities are still helpful for use in prop selection.

Static Thrust Calculator - STRC

A link to the "Optimal Prop Calculator" is at the bottom of that page.

To add, this calcultor appears to not be accurate for thrust or hp when using the apc props with the low mass curvy blades. The ones where the blades narrows a lot just after the hub, widen again at the mid blade area and then narrow to a sharp tip like the APC 13x7 shown below.

I gathered up a couple of Graupner gray Super Nylon 12 x 6's and two Xoar 12 x 6's. I'll run the 50 with them in a bit and maybe you can calculate up some numbers between the brands.

I love green. My 65 Electraglide is hi-fi tourquise.. they haven't got me yet, .may have the green disguided in the blue.
i digress. Love the super cool hog tipped with a SAITO
And the funnys you find over there. The Mopar in the battery charger slot just about cracked my eggshell.

This I know for sure: MAS classic props spin faster and xoar props spin slower than apc props on all of my engines. MAS K are about the same rpm as apc. The only other props I've tried were antique TF and the newer Vess but have no direct comparison to other props of the same size.
I've heard the buzzing noise is caused by stalling at the prop tips but not sure about that. Even my apc props will make that buzz if it's windy out at my test bench and also when I'm doing crazy flip flop aerobatics
that's very interesting, and thank you for posting that info, but I better not be throwing that info around in my head much, I may get confused

LOL

I'm betting you will find those Xoars will pull less RPM than the GGSNs will

The Geekster says If I top 9,900 with the 50 it's a real winner. We'll see.

You got me pinned,i used to fly one back in the 90's with a k&b 45 in it when i was just a two stroke fan,i guess it's rosary beads for me too.

Jinx it will be interesting to see the prop numbers on dave's fa50, if i paint an apc prop in greenstone and send it do you think it will win?

Of course! As long as the thing doesn't come off and poke his eye out...
Saftey glasses highly recommended with verdant props, and Kevlar gloves not made of chinesium.
And a few hail Marys before flippin the thing..
On St Patrick's day, naturally...🙄

I had a MOKI 61 Long Stroke and a 51 RC for most of the 90's. Sweet engines, both. The 61 LS powered my second BTE Venture 60. The 51 was on a Stik 40.
I have all Saitos now except for a lone OS 120.

Since the MOKI 51 rc was rare I'll show it, this one came with an OS carb, well I couldn't have that so I put an MVVS
7 mm carb on it.

Nice slimers fellas. I still have a few, nothing exotic though. I'm as green as an Astro Hog.

LT 25's with LA 25 and Saito 30
I have no exotics either, just Saitos and the one OS 120 pumped, the only two stroke I fly is an LA 25 on my second LT 25.

Are they're none among us here who have not apostatized against the Great Saito?

Most of my focus lately has been on porting an EVO 61NX to run with Dub's Jetstream Tuned Muffler. At this point I am very close to topping the Jett 60L numbers. A little more duration on the induction port should get me there but that's for another thread.

Back to our regular programming. Saito Saito Saito!
