That's a sign of the ages,, woops my age only, I forgot that I had removed the hs. needle. Duh.

Thanks Pete, I handled the crankcase quite a bit installing the bearings, cam housing and the back plate. No paint came off, (yet), maybe I did OK. Nice tat, I have three that serve as targets for the radiation machine, as Joe Pesche says, one is in the nether pawwts.

I can see where that would work quite well as a thumbnail saver.

I got one of the Sullivan tools and this DuBro 3 in 1 driver tool for installing swivel ball links, nylon kwik links and cup style ball links.

I finished up Mike's high compression 65 GK, it's early enough that 65 valve springs will not fit, it still takes the 50 sized springs. I equipped it with stainless screws, I reasoned out that the stock alloy screws do not corrode, copper gaskets do not corrode, steel bearings do not corrode so Stainless Steel screws won't. Fitzpatrick 61's came with stainless steel screws, they did not corrode. The camera light made certain spots look as if they need touched however that is an optical allusion. It's even wearing a black Taipan glow plug.

Actually stainless steel and aluminum is the worst combination. Introduce and electrolyte and they quickly corrode. Don't fly it near the ocean!!

At least at $2.79 you can afford to replace it once and while. The DuBro E/Z threader above will set you back $6.10.

Maybe you could just put it on a display stand?

Mike, if I bought that tool I would set it down and never find it again LOL

my God, the humidity is so high here I can only work on my planes for 20 minutes and I have to get away. Vermont has never been like this

I don't have that problem, I set up a card table in the den and build in the air conditioning. If I built on my workbench in the garage I would be working on the same airplane for 30 years and it still wouldn't be finished. I just store projects out there. This wing was progressing nicely until I had an accident with it in the garage now I have to rebuild it.

If so equipped, mine are ejected by sudden abrupt unplanned stops eventually...
