I thank you both, Tony & Mike, for the kind words. Our guys/gals have, over many years, been a source of peace and love for the entire family - we call our morning stints with them our "Vitamin-H(orse)". At one time we had 9 - that was pure FUN!!
Episodes like what's going on with Banjo, thankfully, are rare. However, some 10 years ago all our guys/gals came down with "strangles" at the same time - Banjo & Blue are the only surviving ones from that group today. That was a true adventure - 8 horses (at that time) all with the same wildfire disease, all needing hot compresses, shots & disinfectant treatments at the same time, 3 times/daily over a 5 week period. THAT, gentlemen, was an adventure. They all pulled through with no lingering issues - took US weeks to recover though.
Anyway, an update on our boy - - as of this past Saturday we're down to 2 shots, twice daily, and it's kinda looking like he just might be back in the pasture with Blue & Cherokee either Sunday or Monday. His vision on the right side is definitely impaired, probably functionally blind, and he's going to need to keep a fly mask on, pretty much for the rest of his life to protect that eye, and he MAY need periodic washing out of the eye (time will tell on that one) but he's doing just fine - - other than the fact that he's now spoiled beyond all belief. He gets grain twice daily right now, laced with peach-flavored Bute (horse aspirin) and applesauce - thinks it's his royal right to have it like that. Going back to the old schedule is going to be quite a shock for the poor guy. He's also been getting WAY MORE than his normal ration of carrots and cookies throughout this, trying to keep his spirits and cooperation up. That'll come to an end when he gets back to the pasture.
One thing's FOR SURE though, I'm gonna need a super-stiff Scotch when I see the vet bill. I've got a mental image of what it's gonna be - and it's not pretty. Oh well. Lotsa Scotch & Peach brandy in the fridge (as always) so I'll survive.

Let's hope the Pickup is a used model

This is the SIG Hog-Bibe that I have been working on forever. It is just about ready to cover. It will be powered with a Saito .91. It will be covered with Covertie 21st Century Fabric, and it has Futaba electronics throughout. It has been a long time coming!

Slightly different rib spacing, wing span, and length of the struts. This applies to all 3 sizes of our Cub kits. 1/6 - 1/5 - 1/4 scales.

I don't now about this one, but there is no difference except the wings and struts for the 1/4 scale Sig J3. You can build the full span version and then buy the clipped wing kit, and have both versions just with wing and strut switch. The clipped wing is one piece, the full span wing is two piece. Enjoy.

I had the same issue about 2 weeks ago. Still, sometimes I get notices, sometimes I don't. I've taken to checking all my subscriptions on a daily basis to make sure.

When I received the email from Sig about Hazels coming Birthday I started reflecting on all the enjoyment Sig's planes have brought to my life over the years. I soloed on a Kadet over 30 years ago but I think what I've enjoyed the most has been the time spent in the shop, looking at plans, thinking about what changes I want to make, etc. I've had a lot of fun over the years.
I want to thank Hazel and all those who continue to make Sig what it is today!

I also have enjoyed Sig kits over the years. I first started with a Klipper, soloed on it. Moved up to a Kadet MkI and then a MkII. After I was done beating up the MkII I went on to a Kommander. I also left the hobby for awhile and now that I'm back I'm starting out with a Kadet Jr and a Kadet MkII. I still have my Komander so I'm set for awhile. One day I'll get my Top Flite P-51 Mustang built and flying, all in due time.
I second Pork Chop with a shout out to Hazel and Sig MFG for all they have done to help this sport grow.

I have been building for almost 6 years. I've built 3 kits and I am almost finished with the 4th. All have been SIG kits. I started with an Kadet LT-40, then somehow got out of order and built a Mid-Star 40, which I Loved. This past Spring I finished a 4-Star 40. I am very close to finishing a Hog-Bipe, which I my 1st Bi-plane. These have all had very detailed instructions and were fantastic kits to build. I have learned an enormous amount about building along the way. Thank you SIG for all you do for this Hobby and the Builders that are still out there.

Almost everyone over the age of 30 in this hobby and anywhere in the world most likely knows the SIG brand first hand and what it stands for. I hope Hazel can feel the immense out pouring of well wishes and gratitude for hers and her families work. They are the reason there are countless memories cherished and shared over and over at flying fields and on forums like this.
I didn't have the pleasure of meeting or knowing Hazel but I will always be thankful for the memories I have that would just not exist today if it were not for her work. So Happy Birthday....Make it a Great One!!

If you want to challenge yourself, try one of the Sig Craftsman Series. They have the same great plans and instructions, but the builds are more challenging, and therefore more rewarding.

Haven't started it yet, read through the manual and have been looking through parts boxes for servos and an ESC. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to start it.
Have you ever flown one of these planes? Until I found it in the back of the LHS I hadn't ever seen one before but it looks like it should be a fun plane to fly.
