If you have a look at the webpage, any reference of weight and power requirements has been removed. Although the downloadable manual still has power requirements of a .46 to .60 2s and .60 to .90 4s. This is not a .46 2s or .60 4s for that matter .70 4s model, not at 9 plus pounds.
I'm still very angry with Mr. Charron / MB Planes for the misinformation that we were all given about this product. So much so that I drafted a 3 page response which I have been unable to edit down to a more manageable size and probably don't need to. Mr Charron said to me during our most recent voice conversation that he didn't follow this thread and that another forum reader called him to tell him about my issues. I don't understand how a manufacturer / distributer can disregard a thread with the enormous amount of hits and posts that this thread has had.
One other note and to set the record straight for Mr. President. I was in voice contact with MB Planes on 3 previous occasions with far less than comfortable results. They are as follows:
1st contact
Called about different versions of kit materials after starting my kit and being made aware of this on this forum. I was told to not worry about it, the model will only be 6 oz. heavier.
2nd contact
I called to get missing tail pieces (see previous post). I was made to feel like a crook and told that the video would have to checked to verify this as they have had problems with people wanting spare parts in the past. I finally did get my parts.
3rd contact
I called to get landing gear wire replaced as it was bent incorrectly. I was asked if I had any wire that I could bend, no offer to replace. I made my own lg.
Based on these conversations I wasn't about to contact a company that already had my money and didn't appear to need any further business from me.
I was going to continue flying this model with the OS 120AX, but since the most recent contact with MB Planes I've decided that I can't promote / show their product. Therefore I will be taking my model to the skeet range, hopefully this weekend and let my 12 guage have it's way with it (if the range officer allows). I'll post pictures if it happen
With all that said, I must remind everyone that this is only my opinion, based on my experience with this product. Other people may have had or will have a different result. Please be your own judge. I can only guess that anyone that has a 9+ pound model that should have a weight 7.2 pounds is OK with it, I not one of them.

Daryl,
Man I am sorry to hear that your experiance with MBP was so unfavorable. I got one of the first production kits and it build like a dream. I couple of heart attacks have sidelined me a while so mine has not flown. My kit was missing the two inboard wing ribs and ken sent me a matched set by air mail. When I had a question about something he would answer my E-mails within an hour or two. We talked on the phone several times and he was always friendly and helpful. Ken is the designer. He does not run the production shop or the front office. He does, however, have to answer for their failings. I dont' know the boss and have had no dealings with him. Ken is the guy I go to and he has never failed to deliver. MBP has some stuff on the drawing board and I hope to build a few of them as they mature.
You can shoot your airplane to pieces if you want to, but it would be a waste. Why not offer it to a club member or to some deserving modeler who lacks the funds to build one. Who knows, you might feel better if you gave it away. Blasting it might give you some fun, but the bad taste will remain. Im sure you built a very pretty plane. It seems a waste to blow it away.

Roger, I sincerely hope that you are recovering well from your health issues and can return to building and flying your models. I reread my previous post and realized that it may have sounded negative toward you. I in no way hold any animosity toward you for phoning Mr. Charron, I have nothing but respect for your build and communication skills. In retrospect I shouldn't have used your name and I regret and apologize for doing so.
That being said, I cannot in all food conscience display or in any form support MB Planes. I will continue to support other modelers and club members, it just won't be with this product. I was fine with making the best out of a poor situation prior to Mr. Charron contacting me and in my opinion blaming me for building one of his models into a 9 1/2 pound plane and then admitting it's entirely possible and probable for these PLYWOOD kits to build out at 9 pounds. I purchased a kit that by manufacturer's spec should have weighed 7.2 pounds and fly on a minimum .46 2s or .60 4s, this is not what I was supplied.
Since you received a balsa version of this kit, it will probably fly very well and they are a very good looking model when completed. As I've said in a previous post, others may have had or will have a different experience than me. If we compare product and treatment experience, yours was / is far more desirable and what I would expect from a company that wants to sell and support their product
Roger, get well and back to the hobby soon.

Hey fellas. I just returned to school and caught up on all of the submissions to this thread. Good to hear you are doing fine Roger. I have made it a mission to fly every plane I own at least once this summer, the Tripe is next on the list. I agree with Roger, give the thing away. Give it to me. No seriously, we have kids, former members, guys who want to join that can't afford this wonderful hobby, give it to them. I have given a few away, and as selfish as I am, it made me feel good. It's $200 plus dollars that you will never get back, but it would be money well spent for someone who would like to have it. Raffle it off and give the money to your club.... Something good could come from all this grief.

A notable idea Hillville.
I know, lot's of people have been wondering why I don't say something... Well, I tried the usual methods ... you know, email, phone calls. But good ole' Daryl didn't want to do it that way. Nope, he likes attention. Well Daryl, I just got permission to discuss this here, so attention you will get.
Let's start off with Daryl telling everyone what really happened.
Here is you chance Daryl. If you have the guts to tell everyone what really happened (you certainly have the guts to take my email messages out of context - without permission too). So take it away Daryl.

I think this is a good place to close the thread. Ken and the the others involved can handle this situation privately from this point forward.
