Thanks, it has a monster power 46, a 100 amp esc, a 6 cell 5000ma battery, and a 13x6 propeller. Not sure what the weight is as I have not weighed it yet.

I have herd horror stories of the wing strut not being strong enough and loosing the wing in flight is this still true. I'm looking at getting one and converting it to electric, I have the skills to redesign and strengthen the wing struts if need be. I'm glad there are still kits to be bought I love building more than flying.

TA--I completed one of these last year, but still haven't flown it! The wing saddles are made with 1/4" ply and reinforced with another 1/4" piece between the legs. I pinned mine with toothpicks which I think any prudent builder would do. It's an obvious and easy improvement. Just like we pin our firewalls with toothpicks. I may have used 1/8" dowel rods in lieu of toothpicks--don't remember, but I am not worried about the wing disengaging.
If you are still contemplating this plane, you are advised to do a search on this forum. The price was right, and I needed something to work on over the last couple of winters, which is how long I took on this kit. It was a LOT of work. I finished mine with Sig Koverall which added a lot of finish work to cover, dope, sand and paint but I did it as practice woth fabric for when I do a WWI warbird. I have an OS 52FS for power, but as I said above, have yet to fly it.

I finally flew mine. On the maiden flight, the airelon reaction was veryyyyy sluggish, i had to use rudder to make each turn, and no chance of any kind of roll. I thought, what the heck--not much fun. Landed and was checking her over for a second flight a little later, and realized only one of the airelons was operating. I apparently did not get them plugged in all the way...sheesh. Next flight was immensely more satisfying. Rolls, inverted flight, immelmans etc all possible and looking good. Slow fly bys, with the FS52 just above idle were beautiful and so quiet, you would think the plane was electric powered. I am going larger with gas these days, but after all the work, this thing is a great flier.
Don't know why the photos came out so blue--must be a setting on the camera.

I just got one of these planes at a swap meet.
The plane doesn't have any wing struts with it and I'm wondering if they're needed?
Has anyone had positive results flying the plane without the struts?
