Ahhh, thee ole 'thin skin' internet commando diversion tactics.
It's designed to call into question the person's character in hopes to further skew the original point of the thread and to help cover up the fact that the person(s) using the tactic are contributing nothing helpful to the existing topic.
It's a classic high level E thug tactic. Are you sure you're at that level of wizardry?

My skin is far from thin. I've been in some of the worst internet wars ever.
Here, I'm being polite.
I see the board rules in red and interpret them to say: There will be no retaliation if someone insults you.

This thread is dead anyways.
It's meaning completely lost.
Although, the internet commando tactics used here to hijack this thread are high level. I give them a 8.7 out of 10. Nice work. I salute you all.

In the end,
CA Glue WINS
5200 threw in the towel

Hijacking the thread ? Where was it hijacked ? All I see is people conversing and showing their point of view . But if that`s hijacking to you ok then . You talk about the internet commandos that know it all , take a look in the mirror pal . You are doing everything that you blame everyone else is doing . It really looks like your over it also .

Dont mean to be too sensative here...but he has a point. Writting the rules does not put you above them nor does it make you an expert in exerting them.

There are some moderators who are perhaps less than savoury with their subtle backlashes and snide remarks...and at some point it makes it worse, as the sarcasm implied is actually worse than having someone tell you to get F###ed, at least if someone did, you know where you stand on the matter.

As to the tip...I would have thought all are welcome...not just the eclectic esoteric claims of the gods of RCU...ooops, sorry the mods of RCU.

Perhaps the mod needs to re-read the rules he wrote.

Mike where did Slodsm curse, flame, degrade, insult or embarrass in his post ?
Let me help you out here:

Please resist the urge to insult someone in your post. "If I didn't know better, I would think Mike was working for them or getting a commision the way he is selling this stuff."
I take that as an insult. As I stated earlier in this thread, if you have good luck with CA glue, great, I don't care, use it if you want. And at no point did I direct anyone to any 1 store to buy it. Like I'm some hobby store owner who just got in a shipment of 5200.

Please resist the urge to degrade, or embarrass someone in your post. "Count me in as one of the 5 people who must know how to glue a tire because I have never had one come off on me and I live on the track."
Like I've never glued any tires on before. I've been doing this for 25 years. I've glued grasshopper tires onto road wizard rims in the mid 80's

and finally: We encourage the free flow of your ideas.....

I thought I'd post up some results for others to look at. But of course, there has to be the regular internet commandos that know everything and everyone else doesn't know jack.

Party on folks. Have fun on the 1/8 scale board.

no offense guys but yall sound like a bunch of little *******. I mean come on, who cares about the subject line the guy put and crap like that. Most of you all are grown men im a 16 Yr old kid and im the only one that sees how yall are acting like 3 yr olds. I mean Who gives a ****, the guy had a problem and came up with a way to fix it that works for him. Use his or dont, but in the end he was only trying to help out people with his problem.

I think that was the point I was trying to make son... That and I thought the mods response was a bit out of place...nothing bad or anything mind you, just out of place, how would one say that (?) irrelevant perhaps.

Anyway, changing the subject...TO the subject. Depending in what way i run the various trucks and cars...depends on what I use to glue the tyres. i do not ALWAYS use the same thing for various applications. For onroad, CA is great, its fast and does the job well. For off road, I use other things...sometimes. Its no biggy really.

So...hows the weather over there...?

The biggest trouble I have with gluing tires is I cannot use any type of glue with out getting it all over me. The only problem I have ever had with using CA glue is on a set of wheels and tires on my Savage I did not prep well because of the chrome. I hate chrome wheels.

Weather is finally getting nice here in the deep south USA as the temperatures have dropped and now are only in the high 80s F. Will even be better in a month when the are in the 60s and 70s. At my age I hate the heat and can deal with cold much better.

I really don`t have problems using ca . The tires seem to wear out before I would need to glue them back on . Maybe you are not prepping the tires and rims good so the glue sticks .
Hi,

Same here. The off problem is usually about degreasing, CA type and proper procedures. I use Pro-line ones and never a problem. Of course, it is good to learn new stuff, but 3 days drying is too long. Our place here is more humid and should take up to 4 days.

Thx

While I won't be using it since I'm now a racer and need to be able to repair the tires between runs(if necessary), it's a great tip for any bashers I imagine.

I think you should post about this stuff in the monster truck forums because I think that would be the area with most bashers.

Also you are all acting a bit childish:

Mike SVOR: he wasn't insulting/attack/etc you. It's called constructive criticism.

Other guys: he explained in one of his first posts that if CA is working for you then keep using it. It's just an alternative.

Hi,

Just left for 1 day and ended to be like this. Sorry to see this.

BTW, do you guys use these when glueing tires with CA?

1.Thick rubber band
2.The quick dry thing in compressed can

I always do.

Thx

the only response that is needed for that is...bro, if you cant bloody well glue a damn tyre, then go home and start canoodeling bits of wool into a form of kniting.

Learn how to glue...bro, who the hell are to say that, thats so stupid and base...gosh, why am I even responding to it....Oh yeah that right, I went out and had a few brews and thought that minding my speaking waas a great ideas...no no no, speaking my mind was a great idea....yup, you get the picture. The fast that are willing to debate CA is so...how should one put it in the new age sensative world...f###ing idiotic, ha ha ha.

Instead how about you give your whealth of knowledge to us base trogladites who cant aparently glue...? common matey.

All 4 tires have held up perfectly. Not one has broke loose.
It's time for new tires already though, as these are worn now.

I'll be using 5200 black on the next set too. It worked great.

How about taking this idea a step further? Contact the manufacturer to package the Marine 5200 glue maybe in a smaller bottle / container and market it to the hobby industry. I would not have time to take on a new product, but I'd be happy to help you get the idea off the ground. It would be fun to help you out with packaging, artwork, marketing idea's etc. I've done well with the SAME scenario for the Performance Devices temp guns in working with Fluke. There should be no reason you could do the same with this glue!

Hey folks,

I got tired of glueing my tires back onto my rims after the millionth time they've torn off.

My friend in the boat building buisness suggested I use Marine 5200 to glue the tires back to the rims.
His theory was: The CA glue is hard and brittle. Plastic is flexable. Rubber is flexable. It requires a flexable glue.

I went to the marine store and bought some Marine 5200 Black. I tore the tires off the rims, cleaned the rim and tire with pyroil non-clorinated brake cleaner, and applied the 5200 black to the bead.
It takes ~3 days to dry. But once it does, it's all you're gona need.

Have fun......

Hi,

For an even and tight bonding, you need thick rubber bands or hand bands from your sister.

Thx

It depends on the track also.
I bet you all race in all those fancy tracks with dirt like asphalt...!
I challenge you to come here at my track and race once.
You all seen the track at the 2006 worlds...well it's twice as rough...plus rocks.

He's got a point on the flexibility of the glue.Just try and stick two pieces of plastic together and then bend them a little and you can hear it cracking.
If it's clear plastic you can see the cracks also.
Although you also have a point on that the glue might be too much which prevents the two parts from touching, and creates a weaker bond...!

WELL i will try the "silicone" that he used and see how it does.If it's no good i can go back to CA glue whenever i want to.

Thats a good idea...if they accept the idea. I have had some good luck adn bad luck with appraoching some companies with a new marketing idea and product placement even with a full pro-layout. They just have'nt wanted to invest in such a niche market. But in all accounts, they may well litsten and then your on your way to making a small business venture.

Good luck though.

If you need help with the promo/marketing and design PM me.
