Hey tiger1431,

I have an extra 2-speed tranny and bell if you're interested in upgrading. $40 shipped to you. Let me know, and I'll send you my paypal address for payment.

If you read back about 40 pages or so there was this guy called naturefreak who was talking about replacing gears in the buggy with metal gears from HPI. Don't remember which gears, but it might help you out.

Found this while searching:

I wonder what happened to him (naturefreak) he was one of the regulars on here, did lots of good testing with odd ball stuff, was waiting for all his input, he stopped to go hunting and he has never been back on since... Wonder if he converted to another car...

dont know. but i read that metal gears would eat up your clutch bell real fast. and he was also taking about whe he got them he had to shave down the points because the gear was actually too big.

I thought it was the metal clutch shoes that ate your clutch bell.

yeah that too. but u guess somthing about the metal on metal makes it wear fast. but it sounds like you would be better off with a metal gear. it dosent wear out fast i dont think, but i think back there somewhere i read theat the metal gear eats up your clutch teeth rather then the original gears(dont know that thy are made of)which dont wear it out as fast, if it wears it out at all.

im sorry if you cant understand my typing. belive me i dont talk like this. the metal gears dont wear on the clutch teeth as fast as the other kind would. but if you are eating up your gears on sticks and other stuff then it would be an advantage to have metal gears.

you can buy a hardened clutch bell, and I would think the wear would be good, I run a hardened traxxas bell, with alumnium shoes, but I havent had to replace the main gear yet, I know you can also get a nylon gear that is much more durable then the plastic, it may be worth looking into. I would take your gear into a hobby shop, there is a good chance they can match one up for you. Also I am not sure, but I think you should be able to get a alumninum gear. That with a hardened bell, there would be no wear at all, even not hardened you would have very little wear.

those tires and wheels will look good on the buggy, I was just looking at mine and the only place I can see twigs coming in would be through the hole under the gear box, maybe put a piece of duct tape over the hole would cure this problem. just a thought

So when you connect the servos to the receiver normally, and turn the steering wheel, the wheels turn and then stay locked in that position, and won't return back? Sounds like something is binding up in the servo saver. I would disconnect the steering servo frome the steering linkage, and check to see if it is something mechanical in the steering system or it is electrical problem with the servo.

When the car is off i can turn the wheels with my hand and seems to be to bindind and when i connect the steering servo wires in the slot where the throttle servo wires go in the little box and hit the throttle tigger on the controller the wheels turn
