Hi! congratulations with your new car! hope you find it to be an awesome hobby
Its hard to say what parts you need because that depends on your driving. One thing thats always good to have is a spare clutch. because if your engine idles so high that the clutch engages you will wear it out pretty fast, it will melt and get stuck to the clutch bell. A duratrax teflon clutch i hear is a great replacement. With a good tune on your engine and low idle i find the clutch to last forever! spare glow plugs are a must! If you got the plastic dampers they wont last long, get aluminium ones. If your planning on doing a lot of jumping and off road driving some plastic suspension or steering parts are bound to break at some point. the e-clips on the suspension arm hinges disappears occationally. The stock smartech steering servo wont hold very long, I use a metal gear servo on the steering, works great! you could also use traxxas servos, way stronger than the smt ones and you get them cheap on ebay. Its also a good idea to get some diff. parts just incase, especially if you plan on upgrading your engine. A failsafe is a must, homemade or a electronic. Since this is a small machine with moving parts that goes fast, parts will need replacing from time to time. Good luck with your new vehicle!!

radiator
"any thing that radiates," from radiate
radiator
noun
1. any object that radiates energy
radiate [ˈreidieit] verb
to send out rays of (light, heat etc)
Example: A fire radiates heat.
theoretically the fins are a radiator. like i said. if it radiates energy it is a radiator.

The fins act as a heatsink, a radiator that is being discussed must be liquid filled. if you had a liquid cooled engine it would run very cool, but you would need a water pump. I think you could probally pick one up, and as far as liquid cooling the engine, you would have to modify the head to allow water to run through it, or make one to hold water, but i also agree to have full effect of liquid cooling you would want to have a fan. I would think with this setup you could run as lean as you want, and maybe even go up to a higher fuel. as far as your head being .001 smaller, this is a lot when you look at the fits, remember these engines are ringless, so you cant really play with the clearances. if you are looking to get more power then keep the same clearances, and make a oversized piston, and sleeve, I would think you would see a large diference with about .05 oversized. also if you do this you may want to see if you can get a hone to finish the bore with. the tool marks will also effect the performance, even if you pollish the hell out of it you will still have tool marks

It would be difficult to make a small radiator to cool water down unless you could actually use a piece of a car radiator.. but this kinda setup would probably increase the weight of the car

thanks.
ok so what glow plug (hot/cold)
do brands really matter?
liek will a high end (sirio) glow plug be any better than another type?
and plastic dampers, what exactly are dampers, the shocks?
and if i were to get aluminium ones do i need to buy for example duratrax ones?
smartech dont make aluminium parts do they?
thanks again

i use an os a3 glow plug. and for shocks you can just find any brand that will fit. maybe at your lhs. i have been too busy to play with my rc car because i got my Triumph Trail Blazer 250 registered, and it is getting too hot, and i want to fix that, and i am more concerned about it than my smartech over heating. does any one else own a triumph motorcycle?

looks like theyre actually out of both 70 and 80mm yeah racing shocks.. You might get away with 90mm rear but the front must have 60-70mm shocks or they will be to long. 80 mm is perfect for rear.

hey again guys. Im having a little trouble rembering tuning stuff. when i use full throttle my engine sputters a little bit. does that mean its too rich or too lean?
ok now I think I have it tuned right, but after i let off full throttle it sputters after letting go, is that bad, or am I just being paranoid?

dirt tires are for dirt, and street tires are for street. but sometimes old dirt tires make ok street tires. if your tires are trash put pvc pipe on the rims for drift tires.

i know, but where do i get one. i could get the head from a water cooled boat, then make my own radiator. the pump might come with the boat head.
