Default Temperature gauges

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I'm new to this Nitro car stuff. Do any of you use those venom temp guages on you vehicles? I'm thinking of buying one for my car. OH, and my truck (that is apparently on my front porch right now. Per the UPS tracking system) Whoo Hooo I can't wait to play with an off road vehicle.

That's the one I use, but then again I also break in and tune a lot of vehicles without it.

I'm sure it works, but it's less convenient than an infrared one.

Yes, it's as good as the others. The only problem I can see is that you would need to buy more if you have more than 1 nitro.

Mine is green

Only problem with that IMO is if you need to start the engine... you need to remove it from the glow plug (if measuring there) Geez Gex time to clean that LST2

yeah, it's pretty much a "one-trick-pony".
An IR guage is what you want if you have more than one nitro vehicle
Unless you have enough free cash to buy one for each vehicle.

Oh, and I understand that positioning of the probe is pretty critcal to getting an accurate temp

The probe is at the end of the loop of wire. You simply wrap it around whatever it is you want to temp, and pull it tight using fuel tubing or a zip tie. I've used it on nitro engines and electric motors. It does not need to be attached to the glow plug.

For $15 it is good quality, and it seems to be as accurate as any other temp guage. We have compaired the readings against several other temp guages, including the Duratrax guage and those overkill expensive guages people have had at the track.
