And then I just realized I have a second question that I meant to ask as well...

Does anyone know what all bodies fit on the Rustler? I want to get another body, but I wasn't sure which fit from all of the different companies out there.

How does the team checkpoint 19t compare with the stock titan 12t?

The checkpoint is WAY better. I burned up my Titan about a year ago or so. Switched it out, and it's an amazing difference. Mine will now wheelie from a standstill, and it seems like it's twice as powerful. Although I did switch out my spur/pinion gears as well at the same time so that may have helped. I noticed an enormous difference though. Great motor to swap out if you don't want to go brushless.

Hey everyone. I was wondering if there would be any issues with running the XL-5 (stock electronics, and a Team Checkpoint 19t motor) with a 7 cell battery instead of my 6cell rocket packs? Would it make much of a difference? I am not planning on turning this into a brushless since I want to keep everything waterproof, so that upgrade is not an option at this time. Is there a top end limit on the battery that I can throw into this truck before I burn out the electronics?
The XL-5 ESC will handle eight cells no problem and your motor should good at this voltage as well. You might need to gear down some, though. Seven cells will be a modest increase in performance...eight quite a bit.

Don't go anywhere even near water or fine dusty/sandy areas. The rubber shielded bearings do a better job at keeping out fine dust/dirt and moisture than metal ones do at the cost of a little bit more rolling resistance. It's hardly noticeable though.

What gearing are you using?

Hello,

I have been considering making inexpensive Rustler bodies. I think that its ridiculous to be paying $20-25 dollars for a body especially if your just going to bash the heck out of it. If I can get them to look good I was wondering if you guys would be interested in rustler bodies for about $10 each. $12 total with shipping?

Thanks,
Ethan

neyou86: I would defiantly post pics of a painted body and of a non-painted body. I actually would be trying to hit the price of $9.99 including shipping instead of $12 including shipping.

Nice man, I almost got that chases, but I opted for the aluminum one.
And you know, mine is still better. LOL
your trucks weight?

The thing that bugs me most, other than the possible weight increase, is that just about every single aluminum part for R/C is either BLUE or SILVER. ugh!
With the battery, I would say 8 pounds. LOL

the trim may be off on your radio. the xl5 will do that if its not given enough time to set up and the throttle is applied

how would the esc be effected if the motor was burnt out. try hooking the battery directly to the motor and see if it works. ive heard the electrifly s-600 is a good motor. the esc will handle 12t and up with 550 motors and 15t and up with 540 motors

well i called traxxas and the first thing they said was that the crystals were bad so i hooked it up to my spektrum. next the motor was still not working when throttle is applied and yes i tried to hook up power straight to the motor and nothing. so everything else works but the motor. so would you say that the motor i posted above would be a good motor to throw in? and yes i checked if the esc gives power to a motor cause i have a 380 motor i tried on the esc and it goes in forward and reverse.
