Does this softwares support widescreen monitors/wide screen resolutions?
I have a sony 23" 1920x1200 monitor (16:10) and I would like to know if I could run this game without and "Streching" i.e. in the proper aspect ratio... Or does AeroflyPro only have a forced 4:3 aspect regardless of resolution

I don't know the answer however here is a link to their site[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]. I think they have an email address there for questions

Bowser did you install FRAPS? I'm not impressed with the new update. It only gives you the option to select 30-60 FPS however I can get anything above 30 in 8 bit mode.
What are you doing to make it work well?

Hi Dion... I got 60 FPS in 32 bit mode however I have a confession[sm=redface.gif]. I removed version 2.5.0 last night and retreated way back to version 2.2.5. The reason is this new upgrade seems to interfere with AFP performance(stutters while flying yet playback is smooth)[sm=thumbdown.gif]. With 2.2.5 I get 30 FPS and no noticeable interference or slowdown while flying or in playback[sm=thumbup.gif]. I have taken every upgrade and keep reverting back to 2.2.5
.
I think that version 2.2.5 is still available for free download if you are registered. You will not know it is running when flying and the output is excellent. I stay in 32 bit mode with a Radeon 9800 card.

Hi pilots,
let me show you some more features of AFP Deluxe.
First, when wind is switched on, the windmills are turning and can smash your aircraft:

Clouds moving over the sky dependant from wind direction and speed:

Foggy conditions can be simulated:

Transparent water surface and underwater geometries:

AFP Deluxe now supports more than 4 heli blades and left turning systems:

Hope you like it.

Rodeo can you give me some feedback on the handling of the thermal soarers on AFP Deluxe? How does the sim simulate slope soaring and thermal soaring now? You guys tried a little Dynamic soaring on it yet (Ok this one is too much to ask of any sim but I'm taking a shot)?

Spacey,
in plains some thermal uplifts will build up, increase and vanish on a random basis.
On slopes there is an uplift in correlation to the slope shape. Ipacs claims to calculate the uplift from the slope geometry, wind direction and strength.
The general strength of the uplift as well as main wind direction and turbulence factor can be set by the user as it was already in AFP.

Yes, we are getting more on Wed and then more right after that. I do not know the cutoff dates for your orders yet, but hopefully the date will be past Dec 10th.

Sweet! I think I ordered on 12/6... Realy looking forward to getting some flight time on this thing.
Your making me way to jealous with all these screen caps.

Wait a sec...can a user install their own photo sceneries with APFD! I can actually take my digital camera to my own flying field, make a panaroma image, then make a scenery for the simulator?
If this is true where do I find detailed info on this?

You can do this with AFP also. Go to: http://www.rc-sim.de/index_en.htm and download some photorealistic sceneries for AFP and read the readme file. Should be links to the author's sites that have how tos. Search this forum too I know there was posts about it at one time.

Spacey,
actually I fly a lot of gliders ranging from 1-4.5m wingspan. Either on our airfield with glider towing or a winch, or on some good slopes in the surrounding.
As you said, AFP was already good in simulating the slopes. But the behaviour of the tow was not perfect (too elastic I think), also the difference between small and large gliders when hitting the turbulence.
But the developers will continue to improve the flight model. They live in the same town and sometimes come to our airfield. It's now included in AFPD, called Rottenburg scenery. Dion seems to prefer this scenery as you can see it very often on his screenshots

Ahh I thought the field looked kinda glider like
I'm just starting to get my glider fleet up an going again. Stuck on the gas bags for now to get my thermal skills going. It's the same as the 3D thing, no one at our club flies gliders so it's a tough going learning curve trying to figure out how to hunt the thermals. I do put the same time in on AFP with the 3D planes as the gliders tweaking the thumbs and things are starting to take shape. I hope the developers keep working on making it better and better. I also do a lot of slope soaring but there's not too much worry there about stick skills. Just pure solid fun

I'm thinking about creating some more slope sceneries, either as 3D or foto panorama.
Just a foto of my Multiplex Alpina (3.8-4.4m) and me.

Sweet machine Rodeo! Oh and don't hesitate about creating more gliders and sceneries! I wonder if we can figure out how to create a scenery to do dynamic soaring? That should be possible with some tweaking would it not? Mmmmm....future project for the bored

Here is another video as requested many times:
http://www.flybuder.com/aeroflyvids/dvdedge1.wmv
Just messin around, however it has an unhappy ending.
I got a new DVD Vid cam Sony DVD201. So far I like it alot. I've only done stuff in low res to see how well it can compress but I'll get the Shocky/Gym vid next in a decent resolution.
