Back to air lines for brakes. I have some Robart air line that is very soft and flexible, it is colored blue or red but translucent (a tinted clear). I never used it because I am used to the hard plastic air line like Tams or Festo. Anyway, is it safe to use that Robart airline? Is there danger it will pop off on its own due to it being so soft? it goes onto connectors so easily I was not confident...

Well that was an interesting day
No wind so came in an little to hot, she start bouncing an bit, brake,oh no throttle, oh no brake, oh no throttle aaaarrrggggg **** Ditch F…
Perfect example of decision taking on high speed………….. stupid me!!!
But after some "mac giver" duc tape did an other 3 flight's
What does surprise me is that after quite an massive impact, as in, an that's it slam, the only damage is the photo's above.
It really is an bullet proof air frame!!
On to the repairs then, really hate that

From my experience, the best way to cure the bounce is reduce flaps and hold the elevator. Sorry about the ding, but I am sure you'll have it looking like new in no time.

More flap would mean slower speed...less likely to bounce! Secret of any bounce it to hold it off after the bounce-trying to "land" it will make the bounce bigger. Big stab of up and travel a bit further, then with energy lost, no bounce.
Robart airline is fine, 169, pink or purple. I use the 169B Black on every model I own...ever have owned. Its fine even in our hottest weather.
Jan, I like as much flap as possible, 95-100mm, some don't. Depends on your landing style and throttle control. If you use the throttle actively, slow right down, use the throttle to control the speed (stall) it works every time!

Be sure and check your stab for delamination of the elevator hinge line. When you get into that bounce phase it's easy to have the tail touch after each time the nose touches.

Another UF finished ready for my thumbs. Third jet for Paul, I'm expecting an immaculate build, since the first model he assembled, he's shown attention to detail way beyond his jet experience. P-140 Rx.

Great looking Yellow Checker scheme. I have the same and still think it's the best looking . About 75% done. Now if I could just learn to land the Habu 2 consistently.........

Another UF test flown yesterday by one of my customers, says three perfect flights and very happy with his Orange Cheque UF!
This one has an old Simjet turbine of 30lb thrust, JR DMSS.

Was up for sale by Ian few months back was going to get it then Steve brought it as close buddy of mine said to him give me first refusal if selling & after couple of months with Steve & only few flights he called me if I wanted it so grabbed it now mine very pleased like new condition.
Cheers Lui

For those that use spetktrum where do you have you remote antennas installed?
I have 4 of them on my UF and during a range check, I found a spot that kept bringing my throttle down to a safe mode. I tried it several times to make sure and it must of been close to seven times since I had 7 holds.
Maybe someone could post a few pics to give me a clear idea
thanks!

Did you note the carbon position (strip) in the fuselage before (presuming ) painting the fuselage?
I have one in the nose at the 2 oclock position aerials front back above the nose unit woodwork. One on the floor infront of the wing joint aerials across, one on the opposite side aerials vertical befind the RX mount position and one on the fuel tank front face aerials verical ( on the angled tank face) I have flown 30+ Flashes all set up basically the same and all perfect.
Some shots of the thread starter should show some positions in the first few pages of this epic!

I got one standing up above the receiver on a piece of wood I made, one in front of the main fuel tank and two on the side walls in front of the saddle tanks. Not sure if those two are amongst any carbon fiber but I will double check when I get home. I'll try and modify one towards the nose area.
I have read read the majority of this thread and it is hard to try and memorize every little aspect if it as it is the longest thread I've been part of. I will go back for pic references.

I always head for the nose as my first choice, its pretty carbon free up there. There is a band of carbon that could well be in the saddle tank area.
Also you are getting closer to the turbine and tail pipe, both hunks of metal!
Its certainly an epic!

Lead! Brilliant screening material...but I presume you don't have sheets lining the walls?
I had a couple of ounces on top of the nose wood work rolled into a tube-no issue with this. The thing with any install is only one aerial needs to be picking up the signal, I do a mental walk around to position the aerials covering all the angles.

The only thing around the lead is just some foam. I got the plane with it already in there. My plan is to use my batteries to balance the plane out and get rid of the nose weight as I CG the plane this week.
Based on the latest ultra flash manual I noticed the CG at 225-230. Everyone still using that as a starting CG?
