I did it on my SM Viperjet. Didn't work that great, all I got was oily grass at the back of the plane
Moved it right at the turbine, works much better. I didn't use the 'preheat' trick, so that might have been the problem.
I'd say, give it a try, but don't drill all your mounting holes yet

Depends on the distance and pre heating helps alot, need to get a fine mist to work best.
There is still a fairly high temp at the end of the pipe not much different from a Gas engine so will also probably work better with the smoke oils rather than just diesel/kero.

I run a 3/16 brass tube between the dual walls of the tail pipe then bend it at the end of the pipe. I stick a #11 Exacto blade in the of the brass tube then squeeze it and take the blade out. This set up works great. I have may Smoke pump travel in my radio set down to 35% and I get a nice thick smoke trail.

There was a guy on here last year who used a oil fired boiler injector to spray oil into the exhaust, it made very good smoke, never know it may help to have a very fine spray at the back of the tube?

I have the Bifricated tail pipe. I only have the smoke tube on one side as in a full scale twin turbine jet. The pipe is 25 inches long.

I myself am debating the placement of the smoke injector on one of my current projects .. I have always had great results with it right behind the turbine exhaust cone, however if it would work all the way in the back of the pipe with the preheat, then it would sure keep things a lot cleaner ... Running smoke through the pipe results in that nasty grimy build up and it needs to be cleaned regularly ...
