This guy documented every one of his flights with the 85 in it. IMO his landing ability is not the strongest and his approaches are high, but he still manages to grease a few landings in this video. The Rebel appears to give plenty of warning of an impending stall and slows down nicely. I like that:

To anyone that has finished one of these out, how much weight in batteries was needed up front to balance? I'll be running a Spektrum Powersafe system in mine, so dual batteries, and I have another similar size jet with the same number of HV servos and it only burns 200-250 mah per flight, so I didn't want to over-do the batteries in terms of weight and am doing dual 1350 2s lipos. Total battery weight including ECU battery will be about 1 pound. Is it going to be enough?

I'm not new to rcuniverse, but I'm new to rc jets(kinda, did a lot of EDF stuff back in the Hoffman magnetics days). I hope this thread starts popping once the next shipment starts delivering. Am I the only one that thinks the Rebel is pretty much the best looking sport jet currently flying? And aren't sport jets the latest IN thing?

In seriousness, it seems to fly fine with a 45N turbine, but definitely not my cup o tea:
I've never flown a jet for the sake of having a flying jet. It has to be fast and/or overpowered or I'm not interested. A 10lb plane with a 14- 15lb take off weight does not seem like a jet made for a 45N turbine.

Thanks for the video, had seen it before but never realized that was a k45 in it. The Rebel fly's nice and light with a k45g2 so can see that a k70 would be similar but with oomph. Bob's x45 as will be a lb or two lighter with correct equipment choices as long as Carf has not added a lot of fat to the build so should be a smidge better than k45g2 performance.
Of course I understand your point of view on how a jet should be, I have a x45 and a k70 at hand so if x45 got dull, k70 would power it very well. Keeping the landing gear in would be my first priority though and that means build light to start with.
Anyway not about to jump on this jet for another season at least, but it does look interesting and hope to see Bob's success soon.
