Comp ARF Flash update
#876
I have talked to the owner of the one in the marketplace. It is a really well equiped Flash and at a great price. The only reason I have not purchased it is that I have a new Rabbit and ordered a new Flash on the 28th which is in transit now. If you snooze on these deals, you lose.

In as much as the balance is as the model flies i.e. with the gear retracted this is the way I set mine up. However since the critical stage of any flight is the landing with the gear down, it's any bodys' guess. The recomended range for the c of g is very narrow on this model but I cannot say that I have ever felt nervous. Mine is balanced on the forward point and flies a treat. Ron

that is incorrect, on some setups where the main wheels retract back (such as on a P-40) you balance with the gear up. the Flash is gear down.

I tend to balance new models gear down and header full as this is likely the landing phase, when things become more critical.
The Flash 365mm was set gear down and UAT (just infront of wing break) full.

You only need to scrap some foam of the inside of the steps.

Hi All,
I just purchased(sent money in) for my Flash, in the Thunderbirds theme. Does the kit come with a UAT, and if so is it as good as the BVM one? I am trying to decide if I should order one.
Also which servos have you been using in the stab for the elevators.
Thank you,
Stan

Stan, mine did not come with a UAT. I am using the one from Dreamworks and it is fine. I just just used the recommended 8411's becuase I had them you can use other servos but you may have to modify the stab a bit. 8411's fit pretty good with a little file work. Mine is the Thunderbird scheme also and it is really easy to see in the air.

Thanks guys,
I have used the Dreamworks UAT before with very good results also. I will get one.
I have some HT 7955's I believe they are the same size as the 8411's.
Anyone used the JR 3421's for power on the elevators. I have never used them, and they are smaller.
I ordered the Dreamworks gear package after being warned by several Flash Pilots I know.
Looking forward to the build, I am going to order a JC 120 SX for power.

It comes with a hopper tank which is used as an air trap.

Hi All,
I just received my Dreamworks gear for my flash. In looking it over it appears there will be some modifying to get the gear to seat and fit correctly.
Anyone who has used Dreamworks gear if you could tell me what you had to do to get the gear to fit correctly, that would help me.
Thanks,
Stan
