If i sent him a fresh batch, i wonder if i could get a GlasCat for free ...... Actually, making one fly and bringing it to FloridaJets would likely be the talk of the event .. a heck, even paint the bunnies on the tail

A good question would be, is the Starcat, in all actuality a Glasscat.
The photo with Tracy in it, is a Glasscat, the other photo is the
toy small version of the "as of yet to be manufactured" other
thing.
Very misleading. I sent him a question to the add, and he
emailed me this reason for the old photo: "It shows the size
relationship compared to a person." I also in the question,
put a link to this thread, he could have posted the question
under the add like the rest of the questions, but I guess
he doesn't want potential customers to see the Travolta-Heff
side of production.
The add should say, "this is an ancient photo, many many years old
just so you can see an older plane that has also never been 100% completed,
that has absolutely nothing to do with this kit for sale". Its there
simply to show size reference, of what one might look like if it were
ever built with your hard earned deposits.

The very reasons the add should be pulled. Tracy has yet to prove one shred of evidence that he can produce and I think potential unsuspecting/naive customers may get taken to the cleaners.

In all fairness to Tracy, I don't think he has ever entered into transactions with the intent to swindle anyone. I truly believe that he started all of this with a unique design and an honest desire to provide modelers with said unique design in molded form. Unfortunately that desire never quite materialized for one reason or another.
If he would simply spend a half year building and flying and perfecting, he might change some minds. But, alas, all we ever hear are fantastic claims and rumors of past buyers still waiting for what they paid for.....

I totally agree with this, I don't think he does this with the
intent to take people's money and not deliver. But the facts
are what they are.
The jet world has all been taken on the deposit thing, time and time again,
its a dead horse for most here. If you can not have a
kit-engine-paper airplane ready to ship with no waiting,
sell it some place else!
People need to know this stuff, so they don't fall into this
black..... money hole. Honestly, my belief is anyone that gets
cash in his hand is going to be hearing the same old same ole.
and I would also bet, there will be another add change when the
projected dates come and go, without as much as a murkin shipped!

I just emailed Spiderman, but there was another guy, I want to say
his name was Gordon, and he was from over seas (maybe not,
but I thought he was). Never heard a word from him, since I
returned the kit to Tracy, but we did send a few emails back and forth.
Someone that can access the rcjets list (if its still there) could look through
the dates from 01-20-2002 and 09-15-2003 for all the greats that were posting
there on this topic.

The problem right now is that when I resigned to use $15,000 of my retirement money to pay for the lawsuit, since we have proof in court and will win, that I anticipated getting my job back within 6 or 7 months according to the normal time it takes a controller to get back in. However, as my bad luck would have it, when Marion Blakey became FAA administrator she put on a hiring freeze that, as far as re-instatement eligibles go, is the longest FAA hiring freeze in history, at two years now. Our case was finally filed in the right court about 4 months ago, and we anticipate resolution within a couple of months. As a matter of fact the DOJ attorney plans on submitting a motion to dismiss by Feb. 17th, and has stated that if the court won't dismiss it that they will enter settlement negotiations. This same DOJ attorney tried to have an almost identical case dismissed in the same court about a year ago, but the court denied his request. So it looks good, one way or another.
But in the mean time, since I wasn't able to get my job back, and other employers hesitate to hire me because they think I will return to ATC soon, I had to file Chapter 7 about a year ago. Therefore I am not able to get a business loan, nor an education loan to bridge the gap on my pilot time and get on with a regional airline. My job is gone, my retirement is gone, my boat I had is gone (because of the Chapter 7), and all I have is alot of possessions from my past years of employment, and sadly I have $2,000 worth of prepreg in the freezer, all the core material for about 50 kits, and the oven and vacuum pump and everything else I need for production, just need a spare $1,000 to get into a 24X48 brand new heated garage where the rent is $495 per month. It is sad that here I am in this predicament, when the government owes me $135,000. I have the possibility of working as a car salesman nearby if I want to start in the next couple of days. Never done it before, but I guess you can make a living. When I resigned I new that the Cleveland Judge who delayed us in moving to our new towers because of an FAA screwup had found out about the resulting pay fiasco and was upset about it, so it would have been an easy win taking it back into her court, but it was diverted into MSPB, and then FINALLY filed in the right court four months ago. The sad part is that if I would have had any idea that it would take that long just to get it in the right court I could have stayed on the job and saved up money over two years.
It is sad that I have 960 hours of flight time, with all ratings except ATP, and an EXTENSIVE background in ATC and Aviation in general, and might even have a hard time getting on with a regional at $22,000 per year to start. To fly cargo requires 1200 hours. I contacted Ameriflight yesterday to see if they could have me ride in the right seat of the Chieftain (Navajo) or Metroliner as an unpaid pilot to do the flying and become familiar with their operation and policies, and then have a commitment to hire as soon as I have the 1200, but there is a problem with their insurance coverage doing that. I guess everything has gotten more difficult because of 9/11. I will try to find a Cessna Citation operator that will put me in the right seat, or a regional, and make the agreement that when we win our lawsuit I will pay my first years wages back to them, but my brother says he thinks that is illegal.
If Todd wants to enlist my help on the DARPA project AND use the StarJet design for the contract AND help on the StarCat model development I could possibly come to Florida and agree to pay him a part of my lawsuit settlement. What do you think, Todd. Do you already have some of the DARPA money to hire employees? Anyone with suggestions? Hope I don't have to end up working at McDonalds.

Oh, one more thing. I posted several notices on the nearby "garage town" doors, where people have huge garage units to do whatever in, that I am looking for a business partner to develop the jets, who just needs to supply space to do it, and maybe a minor amount of money to move everything, but someone took all the notices down. Seems like no matter what I do doesn't work. I also don't want to show Ellen Travolta my display model of the StarJet without having a professional paint job on it, but don't even have the money for that. There is a $12 per hour job nearby that I am pretty sure I will get, but I won't find out until another two weeks, or so. Sad that if the FAA would have transferred me to Boeing Field under the GS regulations, AND THEN applied the conversion rule, which would have happened if we would have moved "on time" I would be in Seattle making $120,000 per year right now. So they have destroyed my life because of THEIR wrongdoing.

I guess the lack of replies since yesterday shows compassion.
And I don't want to piss in someone's coffee, that already got
more piss than coffee, but, I call things like I see them.
I guess now, its out there. There are no other "employee's",
and without a place to build these kits, and no cash flow.
Personally, I think Tracy should remove the add, until such
time he has kits ready to ship. If one person sends him a
deposit, its not enough to get him going, this person will have to
rely on others to put up deposits as well. And this means ship
dates would never be kept.
When someone does this to your coffee, you should cover it,
in other words, gambling on lawsuits with your personal life savings
is not my idea of covering yourself. Its also not the fault-liability
of the Jet community to make your personal saga better, by getting
you up and running, and financed.
Personally I feel bad for you Tracy, but myself and others have been taken
by people-companies that have sold THOUSANDS of dollars of
merchandise, and failed to come through with products, that had
deposits put down on them. You on the other hand have a track
record for not 100% completing the sale as it is.
Like I said, I hope the best for you, maybe you'll find true
love in the used car sales business, maybe on John Travolta's
used car lot, maybe on Playboys used car seat sales, who knows.
I don't think this is the forum to tell your life story to everyone,
b/c only a few like it for the comedy of it all.
Maybe you should build a 60 size copy of these two products that
you can afford to build in your own kitchen, and fly them as cheap
as you can, to proof them. Then you would have something to sell.
Take Lemons and make lemonade.

man, that BatWing is nice.. i think i will just have to get myself one of those
the one you see in the picture is designed and built by Richard Hamel, who is trully a genius in havving gotten that thing to fly, while maintaining 100% scale acuracy to the one in the movie. There are a number of unique airfoils incorporated into that wing to allow it to fly, maintain stability, and prevent weird stall conditions. The prototype has flown on a G62 with a prop, mounted to the nose leg mount bulkhead. The plane is surprisingly stable and smooth, and will even do the signature BatWing tail slide [8D] .. There will be one flying on a p180 for power some time mid this summer
, and will likely be one of the only 2 or so that you will ever see .... thats all im going to say for now on this topic [8D]

I hear that BatMan himself ( actually Bruce Wance ) is personally interested in a StarJet of his own too !!!! I think he might have to get in ahead of the line in front of Hef and Travolta ....

Hi. My name is Dan. I just want to convey a special message to all the doubters and naysayers, and those who think my buddy, Tracy, made up the connections to famous people, or the interest that Playboy has in the StarJet. I bet you'll all be real nice to him when he comes to a nearby airshow with the StarJet/PlayboyJet giving rides and offering photos with the Playmate of the Month. You might even get to meet me there, as I like airshows, where I can give you the message in person. And don't take it personally, it's not meant for any particular individual. And don't blame my buddy, TJ (that' what we call him) for it, as I am the one who did it. I'm sure you have seen me before. Anyway, TJ called Ellen Travolta, who knows I am into airplanes, so she called both me and her brother John. You'll see the StarJet in a movie, and with the bunny on the tail soon. Have a great day!
