I'll definitely agree with the quick shipping part! 4 business days from China to Canada with DHL, that's faster than UPS got my Super Bandit to me from California and the cost from China was less than UPS from California for about the same size box. I've heard DHL horror stories in the past, but I'm really impressed with them too, it was fast with no damage.
It's been a great experience so far, I am glad though that I read about how fix the soft oleo's here, my gear struts will stay compressed under the weight of the empty airframe right now. Need to put some oil or a stronger spring in them.

Hi Keith,
"Would some body who has the retracts working on the F16 do me a favour, with a small amount of presure with one finger on the front of the nose leg try to retract the undercarrage and let me know if they go up with out taking the finger away many thanks Keith W "
I am assuming that there is no air in the tank and you are trying to push the retract that is not in locked position up in to the belly??? If there is no air in the line, on mine I have to push it all the way in. Now if there is a bit of air in the tank and I command the valves to go to gear up position, the gear does not go in, when I try to push it in, it goes with minimum pressure.
I hope I understood your question right.....
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike, with air in the system, full pressure, is what i mean,t i have found that the front leg will not retract with finger pressure on the front leg stopping the others from going in as well,by putting pressure on front leg i am simulating the force of air on leg when flying,if i slow model up in the air, pull the nose up and hit the retract switch they go up,it seems that the air pressure on the front leg stops the retract from coming out of the lock when retracts are down!!diffiecult to explain but i hope you get what i mean,i wondered if every one is like this or just mine regards Keith W

Hi Keith,
I just tried it wiht the bird right side up and on its back, I do not see an issue. When you have the nose gear in down and locked position, do you feel any movement if you wiggled the front gear? The locking point in the gear may not have been machined or matched properly.
causeitflies-RCU,
I do not htink it is the cables as it is configured to colapse during the retraction process.

Mike

Yes, but the backward pressure is what's keeping it from unlocking. If you move it forward or release the pressure it will then unlock and retract rearward.
Try it on yours by holding a LOT of pressure rearward and then retract the gear. It may stick in the locked position until you release it or move it forward. It may require a little grinding on the locking mechanism.

Keith,
Initially my nose gear was not unlocking easily. After trying a number of things I found that if I loosened up the screw a little in the trunion block that clamps onto the strut it worked much better. Make sure it is snug but don't over torque it.
I tried your experiment and my nose gear retracts fine with a little finger pressure on it. The only issue is if the pressure gets too low. At or below 40 psi it won't unlock or retract.
What type of oil did you put in your strut?
Joe

What does that mean regarding this thread? Have you read it? There are lots of people, myself included who've ordered these jets and the deals are awesome with them. This is one case where the deal is what it is

Hi Mike and Joe the cables are not tight and after your thoughts i think that mine is just a one off but if anyone gets trouble like this i cured the problem by putting a small radus on the corner of the slot that the pinion moves in just as it drops out of the lock,i think mine might have had a burr on it,but if you look at it, preasure on the front of the leg stops the lock from dropping out regards Keith W

One of my buddies in Germany just received one F16, but it's badly damaged by UPS. So we are now talking to FLY Eagle to get a replacement.
They are quite responsive at least to our club.
I will be opening up a few more boxes later and inspect their products. and will post the inspection results.

again my post disappeared yesterday.i have included some pictures with it but it was deleted for some reason.
i have to admit that the guys in FEJ are very sensitive to what the people say about their quality .i have sent them an email together with the pictures to show them the damage of the frames and the fuel tanks that were not installed as per agreement and i got a reply that they will send me all the frames again plus the cockpit free of charge as a compensation.
credit to them this is very important for the customer and i felt that everybody should know about this.
