Maverick101 I don't think there are any AT3's ready to fly. This is a new plane and as far As I know there are only about 4 of them in the country. I will be building one as soon as I get done with The advanced F-16. I have the new 5 in 1 valve coming in next week for this plane. It is finished other than the plumbing. The AT3 is sitting on my Dinning room table. It is going to be Quite the plane. I am writing a manual with both planes as the pictures that come with the Fly Eagle planes leaves a lot to be desired. I will do a built thread on the AT3 as I build it.
Thanks

pratorian, Fly Eagle Jets is coming out with a 5 in 1 valve for retracts, doors and brakes. You can check them out here
http://www.flyeaglejet.com/ I will get my hands on one of these new units next week. We will stock them when they come out.

Mav, you measure the throw from the wingtip end, some people may differ there methods Ive never had any dramas with what I do.
I was extremely happy with the way it flew, rock solid in the air, just make sure your c of g is spot on also regards your hopper tank as stated does not matter what way it goes I have mine facing the front and it works fine.
Regards
Todd

Thanks for throw measure point wing tip and COG info! I now cannot wait to fly this thing. I only have a few hours left and I am done. I will be using a 3rd fuel tank. I plan to fly it at Nowra before Temora to get it sorted.

just to let you know i bought the 1" air power rams and they look like a perfect fit. The fixing screw is a smaller diamiter than the existing fittings but have put a small metal tube into the existing hole and used a screw threaded servo link if you know what i mean inside that hole. have got to get some locking nuts that fit the thread today so that i can fix them in properly so will let you know when i have done it. Just to let you know please do this before you put in the turbine and fuel tanks etc as it took me an hour just to get one of the old fixing points out because i can't get my hand in through the front wheel well to unscrew the existing fittings aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Yes I concur. I had to buy the airpower 1 inch rams locally as Airpower (who I purchased the first lot off sent me 1 1/4 inch instead of 1 inch and would not take a return?) You are right they fit fine. So I have (2) 1 1/4" airpower rams going cheap if any one wants them. I buggered the 3rd one up trying to make it fit before giving up.
Now one of my brand new Hitec 7955 TG elevator servos are chattering and causing uncomanded deflection. So I have had to buy another one locally (far more expensive) and have to send the defective servo back to Hitec USA!!!!
I won't be beaten, so this thing will fly in the next 2 weeks!

Todd/Jeremy thanks for the offer at Temora. It may come to that as time is ticking away. I plan to do the maiden as I have been flying all sorts of RC for years albeit electic and gliders. The brand new faulty HS 7955 TG elevator servo is my last challenge so touch wood no more issues before maiden!
Catch ya at Temora!!!

Mav,
Friday will be the day to do it. You will still need to get a turbine / heavy model inspector to look over it and be out there with you on the first flight to make sure you are okay flying it solo before they sign it off. My advice would be to get Paul out there with you. He has been doing alot of flying of the small F16s lately. Should be a good meet, i'm looking forward to it!

Ok am getting different information on this site now bofore someone said you always measure throws at the wing root or fattest point of the aileron etc which would make you do this at the fuss on the f16 but are you saying do this at the tip so the thinnest edge of the aileron !! Confused

Measure at the airfoil's trailing edge (the aft edge). What they are trying to reference is the chord dimension. The chord line of an airfoil runs from the leading edge, thru the airfoil to the trailing edge. The part of the aileron with the biggest chord dimension is where you want to position your ruler, at the trailing edge. Now you're ready to make a measurement.

Jason,
This must be the reason that some folks were saying that the throws were excessive, they must have meaasured/set it from the wing tip to the aileron. I beleive there is quite a bit of difference between the two measurement.
Regards,
Mike

USSCAT, aviation as many professions are, is defined by its language and the associated definitions. Specificity is a must and effective communication is a huge hurdle wether it be model aviation or full scale. Accidents and loss of life can be the result of a simple miscommunication. Build safe, fly safe and have fun!

Interesting statement, I could go through all of the aerodynamics of wing measurements etc, but I dont want to bore you, could those people let me know how there 16 reacts with this measurement setting on the ailerons from the wing root. just curious.

Put my airpower air rams in this weekend 1 inch throws and all great on the main gear doors to then find out that the nose wheel air ram is only a 3/4 inch throw i had not taken a measurement on that one just thought they were all the same. never mind just wanted you all to not make the same mistake if you were changing yours.

Hey guys, I am all but finished the build on my FE F16 plus. Man I have spent at least 40 hours. This is my first jet is that normal???? Under my radio tray looks like a birds nest. I recon if i left it out over night I would find eggs in the morning[
] I tried to be as neat as possible. I replaced all the pnumatics with festo and the air rams with air power. FYI Dirk from air power did eventually send me the 1 inch rams that I need ( he sent me 1.25 inch as error) but I already purchased locally so I have 3 spare 1 inch rams. I will post a pic shortly. Thanks Dirk great customer service. Please all use air power
So about 2 weeks from maiden. So providing my partner does not leave me for spending all this time in the garage, I will also be able to post a maiden vid.
Cheers,
Mav

Hey,
A few guys in Adelaide Australia had rudder flutter and elevator flutter on their FE F 16 over the weekend. It ripped out the rudder linkage and burnt out a Hitec 5955TG servo on elevator
Has anyone else had any of these issues????
