Default Velox CG HELP

Guys,

Putting up a post for Sin City....

He is putting finishing touches on his Velox. He needs to CG the jet. Can you Velox experienced pilots chime in on your CG settings and recommendations?

(Yes I know it is like posted here somewhere...I wanted to make sure I have the most current data/experience)

Thanks!

balanced mine...gear down. nose slightly pointed down using shoe strings on the front carbon anti-rotation pins. I used the recommended control throws. The Velox needs a LOT off up elevator mixed into flaps (about 20%) . Make sure you have high rate elevator. You can easily run out during landing !!

???? Down elevator mix? Better check that, as mine is set the same as John Agnew (see this post/thread [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=5956753]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=5956753[/link] I mixed 15 mm up elevator for full flaps and I saw no change in attitude. I also raised the front of my Falcon about 5mm on the front straps to give a little more down thrust. Flew great.

My CG is set slightly nose down on the forward anti-rotation pins as well.

This is how mine's set up...

CG - 5mm aft of the C/L of the wing anti-rotation pin
Aileron movement - 14mm each way (measured at the tip - no expo...gives the very soft aileron I like)
Elevator Movement - 30mm each way (12% expo)
Rudder movement - 25mm each way (measured at the top - no expo)
Flap travel (measured at outb'd flap/inb'd aileron position):

Take-off: 20mm with 9mm up elevator trim mixed in
Full-flap: 35mm with 11mm elevator trim mixed in

(so that means there's 20mm up elevator trim required with full flap travel)

Cheers,

It took 5mm under the front strap to get it to fly straight?!?

How much speed are you getting out of the Falcon on the Velox?
