Hallo Carsten,
alomst looks like you know Sandor for a longer time, yes he also told the same about the turbine and he is not the only one.
On the dutch forum we also had that item and a few people told me that they are going to use a P200 in the Viper.
They wanted a turbine for real man. My Answer: I don't need a bigger turbine te be a man

I don't worry, it fly's with a P160 so i guess it will fly with the 18,3 kg thrust Merlin.
Regards Ron.
P.S. Oleo's looking almost as nice as on mine Viper.

hehe
Yes, I know Sandor quite a bit, must have bought too much stuff from him
I'm sure that a P160SX is more than enough for the plane, I got the 200 only because I didn't have one already, so I simply had to try it
Oh yes, and then we can always make fun about it

Carsten, what about the travel adjustments for the Viper.
I already asked Ali about the rudder and he told me the travel for the rudder is as much as it can get.
How much travel do you have on the alevator and the ailerons.
As much as they say in the manual or more?

Ha ha Ron, I agree with you. Those that have gone for a 200 are compensating for lacking in other areas !!
I measured Ali's rudder movement during one of the team building sessions and he has 75mm each way
Cheers

I went with the movements in the manual, I think that a little more aileron would not hurt, but didn't have enough time with the plane before the fu##ing snow came here [:'(]
But the settings in the manual is a very good starting point, you wont go wrong with those!
You are going to be very happy with the plane!
and Duncan, you are sooo wrong

About the ailerons, i was also thinking to give a little more.
The 15mm as the say in the manual looks not enough for me.
Regards Ron
P.S. Duncan i agree with you, sorry Carsten

Hello Gonzalo,
Just for your info...today I received a small package from SM with a new bottom fuel tank.
Fits perfect under the inlet ducs now.
To be honest, Skymastersservice is just fine !
Kind regards,
Erwin

Thank you Erwin for the info. I contacted them about this and they said it will take a while to get one.... so I am in the process of cutting mine.

I got to fly two vipers this past weekend. One with P-160 and the other with P-200 power.
P-200 has the edge for sheer vertical power, but as I showed the 160 powered viper could easily go out of site vertical after a straight run ( Not sure how much more vertical than out of sight anyone could want )
The rest of the flight envelope the P-160 buried the P-200.
Lighter
Easier to manage the speed
Much improved slow speed handling. I could really feel the extra weight of the 200 version wanting to bite me in the same low and slow pattern that the 160 version had no trouble with.
More floaty touchdown
Much softer and less aggressive stall. Both version dropped a wing but with the 160 version I could fly out of it ( Catch the wing drop ) 200 version actually went into 1/2 a rotational spin.
Oh and of course the flight times were longer on the 160 version.
The P200 Viper was still a great plane to fly ( So dont get too despondent all you guys that have gone down that route) Its just the lighter version is that much greater.
Ask me if I would ever have a P200 in one of my vipers.........
Nope!
Regards Al
P.S I forgot to mention... We were flying at an elevated field in 30 deg temps with high humidity and the Jet Cat 160 Sx didnt struggle to fly the Viper in anyway!
