Hmmm... Funny. I can't remember the last time I saw a thread like this about Jetcat.
OS fuel needle, ''maintainance'' fees every 25 hours, $60 to ship(!)...
Keep it simple folks, go to the jet meets, talk to folks about what to buy and from whom.
Sorry to stir the pot. (But it's kinda fun!)

I should have mentioned that mine is an older Falcon. Shortly after I added the needle valve JC came out with a larger restrictor and Eric would send one to any customer who asked for it. The more recent engines now have a gas % parameter in the ECU which the customer can adjust.
How much does Jetcat USA charge for a bearing change and 25 hour maintenance? The guys I know have been hit a lot harder than $250, or $310.
I made my statements because I thought someone reading this thread may benefit from it. We all have our brand preferences and unique experiences. I don't feel the LTW is all it is hyped up to be, but on the other hand what kept me from considering Jetcat was the amount some of my friends were paying for repair bills and the constant updates. Not trying to start a brand war here, just trying to be objective.

I'm going to just pipe in here for a moment. Keep in mind, I import and sell a competing brand of engine to Jet Central. However, with that being said, I have owned and/or sold every Jet Central engine with the exception of the Rabbit. I also did all the testing regarding the use of A123's in Jet Central engines. I had one catastrophic crash with a Rhino and one bearing lock-up on a Super Bee.
The Rhino was COMPLETELY rebuilt to BRAND NEW status at an UNBELIEVABLE price. The damage was so bad, I almost threw the engine away, TWICE. Eric forced me to send it in for a repair quote.
The Super Bee was sent in and returned 2 weeks later (free of charge) and I never had another problem with it.
Eric and Jet Central always stood by the warranty when it was a warranty issue, and charged me fair prices when it wasn't. And that's coming from a competitor.

Interesting Joe considering the Jet Centrals I know about have gone back to the factory more than a couple times in the first 25 hours of life. While it may not cost anything to the owners it certainly costs them flying time and to some of us that is more precious and worth the piece of mind knowing that our "purple" turbines will be going strong. I will gladly pay $310 every 25 hours if that's the ONLY time they ever go in to the shop and I know thats the case with 99% of JetCat's out there!!!

The warranty is really quite simple and has few restrictions and many positives. . .
We require you to service at 25 hour intervals. . .fixed cost of $250.00 plus UPS 2nd day @ $60.
We require you to put oil in your fuel at the rate of 2.5% which saves you an average of $5 each time you buy 5 gallons of Kero or Jet A
We offer as an option; the LTW may be transferred to the second owner for the sum of $250.
We cover. . .
All parts of the turbine package except Festo fittings and ECU battery. ECU battery is covered by Duralite. This coverage is forever for the first and second owners as long as it is serviced at our complex in Mexico City.
We exclude:
Crash Damage
FOD Damage
obvious customer neglect.
There is no complexity or as you say "all the restrictions" placed by Jet Central. It is as simple as it can be and the only LTW of its kind in existance.
Neysayers aside, Jet Central owners are loyal, repeat customers who refer many to the Jet Central family. . .
All questions gladly accepted. . .and answered.
Regards,
Eric

My sincere apologies to those hurt.
I think competition is great for all as it keeps us on our toes. "Our brand" of laissez faire, I suppose.
I was somewhat terse as I was on my Iphone (which is no excuse really). Since my post was quoted, it will be there for everyone to see, but I'll erase it anyways!
I'm sure Mr. Clapp is a super stand up guy and the jet central turbine owners seem happy with with their engines.
It is also VERY clear that this transaction is not "run of the mill" for Eric or Todd.
Best of luck to all!
Raf
PS. And again, I only meant some well meaning rib poking. God KNOWS I get tons of it!

Frankly,
I know its going cost me more if my bearings need changing. And shoot I got PO'd 'cause the O-ring in my starter motor died.[:@] So I know I'm a big complainer myself!
And finally, Katarina PLEASE PLEASE use spell check!
I know your 3 PHD's required correct spelling!

I agree that we as consumers need the competition, I sure would hate to think about any of the Turbine brands going away, they all certainly have their merits.
You must admit that it is an exciting time in the hobby to have so many good choices

And I am still not going to get rid of my Jet Central Turbines

Since posting in this thread I have talked to Eric on the phone. I also did apoligize to him (for what remains between the two us and will stay that way)
and we are working on the issues that I am having with my Falcon. As far as the Igniter well That was my Dumb ***** fault. I am sorry about that.
Eventhough I did post something bad about him/Jet Central I have to give Eric credit he is still right there to help me out on the phone like nothing happened
Sorry again Eric.
Thank You

Well i think that this can know be put to sleep We can all agree that you cant please everyone no matter what the product is ...There will be people who love it and ones that hate it .have had good factory support and ones that had bad . This is a hobby that we all enjoy and in stead of trashing a company to each other.we should try to give helpfull info. Iv been reading other post about other brand turbines and they have the same problems , questions and complants, so its all the same no matter what turbine you buy. Lets all just fly and have fun

Upto this date I've not even had a failed start, bearing issues, thrown blades, flameouts, wet starts, hung starts, no error messages on my ecu, we can go on and on. And i've logged 19 hours.
No life time warranty need here brother.
No hard feelings bro!

Two cycle oil? You got to be kidding... No mobile jet and Jet A, bought it from Gerry Hinshaw. Or the airport. Guys I got thousands of hours in Citations, and Bell 206s. I know I am blond with large ''atributes'' but I am not stupid. Look me up in the FAA database you will find a commercial multi pilot with rating in fixed wing, gliders and rotary. Not stupid ... But thanks for asking. Got a heart issue so I stay on the ground anymore. Except in my dreams.

Ah dude, so you flew the T-45 with the SE. I told you it would be a bad ***** engine.
Another happy customer with a happy turbine. Way to go bro! Glad you flying it with a better turbine than what you had before. Keep me informed, lets do some flying next weekend. Want to see that T-45 go with that raw power you talking about.....

Oh no, thats not the only JetCat I own! And its not an old one either. And it wont be the last one I own trust me on that one!
Its a JetCat I bought and have put on a solid 19 hours of flight time without any issues. I've seen other turbines of the brand that is the subject of this thread have been sent back way before its reached its 20 hours.
I'm glad your having fun cause I sure am.................
