Ciao Gonzalo,
what kind of 3D printer are you using? [X(] It's amazing what it can do! I think is something of very expensive isn't it?

after looking for a good solution , we had to exchange the front steel plated steering plate on the Viper.
now we machined one out of Alluminium 28ST to hold the new pin and has many advantages like 0 play on the pin itself.
all our customers who purchased our complete set of oleo,s will get this part as a free upgrade , you simply exchange it together with the front oleo.
here is the new set as it is delivered from now on.
in the middle you see the front oleo together with the new servo bracket , we also made it so that any jr servo from 8411 up to 8911 will fit.
i am sure there are actually people who have a 87 or 89 as a front servo:D
for the other customers we have now a pin that will do the job

Hi Alessandro,

That was done on a Stratasys Dimension 3D printer. The printer can 3D prinnt in ABS plastic and they start at USD 15K. HP is going to license these printers very soon under the HP logo and who knows what would be the price. I am sure in the next 2 years we will see 3D Printers around 5K with the same capabilities.

It was soo cool that I was working on the Viper and I need it the stand for the LCD.... I went to my computer and it took me about 30 minutes for the CAD design. Next day I sent it to the 3D printer.... a few hours later the stand was already install on the Viper :).

Regards,

Gonzalo

Thanks Gonzalo,
it's really really impressive (and a little bit expensive for now :)). I'll try to find some video on YouTube.

At one point I remember seeing on this thread (or maybe another) a post on the route to fish wires and tubing from the area of the wing root in front of the wing tube back to the servo box and gear area. Have looked for an hour now and can't find it. Anyone remember where this is?

If you mean oil leak, all the oil leaked out of my nose gear. I separated the oleo & the rubber seal looked ok. I refitted it & coated it with silicon grease. Refilled with oil & it has been ok since.

Forgot one thing, I'm using the ''EVSD-5U-PRO Airpower multivalve thing'', and I notice that one of the main gear does not retract completely in flight, and when the gear retracts, it's looks very ''scale'', as if they don't get enough air.
I have no restrictors etc in the lines for the gears, have any of you experienced the same (low air output from the EVSD-5U-PRO) ?
I'm running with 8 bar pressure, and it works ok on the ground, but doesn't ''slam'' the gears in.
G-DAY Carsten
I am having the same problem with my gear, Would like to know how you fixed it.

Hi John,
I have not had the Viperjet out since the change, I swapped all the airlines to 4 mm instead of 3, if this does not work, I will try and add another airtank, and if that does not work [&o]

Mine is now ready for it's maiden, which hopefully will be on saturday if the weather plays ball.

I applied the Al's Hobbies Decal pack over the easter break and just have a few on the nose left to apply. The cross head screws look awesome on the panels, even if i do say so myself :D

I am using seperate electronic valves on my Viper, but have to put nine bar of pressure in the tanks to get the gear to retract reliably. You also have to begin the retract sequence as soon as the jet lifts off.

Thanks for the reply guys big job to replace the lines to 4mm shall try an extra tank,We also thought gear on rotaction, Some one also surgested inverting :D.

JOHN PS My old MENTOR Manfred seems to think maybe main gear door at inward angle (little bit) so air did not pull gear back down .

Dunc, finally! Looks great!

In the future people will look back and know this period as the 'ViperAge' with build time similar to that of the ice age, bronze age.......

Going inverted after take off & retracting the gear works everytime. Much easier to pump up the tanks to nine bar or more. Bang :D.
