Ok so if I get a JR XS3 radio can I use the following receiver pack? (I think so)

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXFJT1

Also I can use the below charger to charge both the above receiver battery and the JR Transmitter battery (once I get one)?

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...ProdID=JRPC222

Are you saying with the JR XS3 I need the following because it doesn't come with an on/off switch?

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...ProdID=JRPA003

Should I stick with the JR XS3 or should I just go with a Futuba or something? THANKS. Sorry but I am a newbie and I thought a radio came with an on/off switch otherwise you would always have to remove the battery pack.

I love my JR 3XI so much I just got that JR SX3 pro for myself for christmas. I have TX packs for both.

yes that charger will work when you buy the TX pack.

The on off switch you have there has a charge plug on it. so the RX pack does not have to come out of the radio tray or be removed from the truck to charge. You just plug charger into the extra empty plug.

Ill see if I have a pick of mine on my MT

Edit to add pic here it is.

The empty plug is to charge RX.

Note my throttle linkage brake mod, the stock throttle linkage would not allow WOT with my new .18 OS CV-RX.

Thats an ofna linkage set and the only color my LHS had at the time. Ill put a blue kit in soon as tower ships it to me.

Ok, thanks bigbodychevy. So I guess with the above three I would be good to go...

Wait I just realized that the JR has amn opposite charge so it would not work with the above receiver pack battery, correct? So far I don't see a JR receiver pack.

I don't know much about chargers but when I was looking for one I wanted something to do all the battery packs I had around, so I did a bit of research and selected the Piranha Digital Peak charger, I bought a couple of battery holders and terminations, now I use that charger to charge all the batteries around the house from AAA to Receiver to transmitter packs and I like it allot its doing a great job, a bit more expensive but more pratical for me. That's my own opinion.

So the charge will handle the reverse polarity of a JR transmitter? Sounds like it, wow that would be great, for the price of two charges I can get one that does it all. THANKS.

One more thing. I want to order everything at once that I need to build the car. Which size return sping do I need to order from towerhobbies, a link would be appreciated. THANKS.

ok only the plug on the JR TX is reverse polarity. RX plugs are universal.

THE TX Plug is a circle with a pin. The pin is usually positive (futaba, airtronics, blah blah), the circle is neg. On JR TX its reverse. so the charger must have the correct TX wire. Witch the JR charger you linked has.

Besides the above two last question concerning batteries, ect. what is best to use on the MT-2 18SS as far as a hop up pipe (for low end torque) and side pipe or a rear pipe. I don't want it getting damage so what is the best to get? THANKS.

The switch he is showing is for the receiver power(on the truck) not for the transmitter. Yes they come with on/off switches, just so much talk maybe confusing.
As far as throttle return springs, the 18ss doesnt require them does it? And for that reason, aren't available as a direct replacement part. Assuming you are talking about the ss kit. The rtr doesnt either. But if you want one anyway, the savage with s-25 does use one. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDLJ4&P=Z They may be a little long, but could easily be modified to fit.
By the way, got my savage in today! Unfortunately it's supposed to rain for the next couple days.[]

I bought the throttle return spring and mount for an Evader to use on mine.

Last night my MT2 got an OS .18 CV-RX installed in it. I was still trying to get it started, about the third pull of the cord and it just stayed out, the more I worked it the more came out. I got pissed, pulled the .18 out of my evader and slapped it in, finishing touches will be added tonight. Does anyone know if the OS is a better engine than stock?

(I'm still going to put a balanced/blueprinted OS .18 TZ into the truck I think come first of the year)

The os is way better then stock, loosen the 4 screws on the pull cord till it pulls it self back in the box. Dont pull it out so far next time.

kuhndog599:

I am sorry to hear that it was HPI in California that told you that. My question to them is, from one tank how can they asertain that I broke the engine in wrong?

I have heard good things about HPI and their support, maybe they were just having a bad day.

Have you been able to get an engine in it to run?

hey do you think with the proper jacks you could use that on the mt2 t15 receiver and transmitter with out completely removing batteries from there compartments. i like using nimh batteries because they last a bit longer. but transmitter and recievers cant be charge directly using there own chargers with nimh batteries.

The only plastic parts I have broken yet are the front and rear upright sets. That was due to hitting curbs as well, but all the other stuff is still the original parts and have been driving on them since february.

mt2nitronut :

I have been running the CF brace for about 2 years. It is a great piece, but you need a flat pack. Ties the front and rear diff together and makes the chassis very stiff. You only need this for serious competition.

For bashing it is really not needed.

i guess they had a bad day. yeah that ticked me off. instead of getting a new engine and differentials. i just got an older mt with a .18 engine. i got it today in matter of fact. i like it. its used and has metal dogbones and stuff. the only thing i dont really like is that it doesnt have those sides to protect the insides on the chassis like the mt2. it has an ofna fail safe too. i like my bumper on my mt2. is there any way of getting it to fit on the mt. i tried to find a way but i couldnt. thanks.
