I've got a question for you guys...

My next door neighbor bought the MT2 by HPI 3 years ago. He drove it the first 6 months he had it and since then its been sitting in his garage, for all I know it still has fuel in the tank. It has a few broken parts on the front end ($20 worth), and the engine has not been cared for what-so-ever. What do you think this truck is worth?

I'm not sure if the engine will run... So whats the truck worth?

Thanks
--Pede

I just payed 152 shipped for my sons used MT2 i got it on ebay for him for christmas.

If the engine is no good I was say about 100, if the engine runs 150-200 depending on if he is giving you all the starting equipment.

You might invest in a new fuel cell. I had my mt2 a month or so and it did the same thing. come to find out the o-ring in the fuel cell was defective and the fuel was eating it away allowing my cell to loose pressure. with a new tank i never had another problem.

my mt2 seems to do the same , i hear a click(snick)[sm=confused.gif] then it stop's. stock 15 motor only had probably 2 full tanks through it since run in [].
while I'm typing , which is better aluminium or graphite shock towers ?
one other question , i notice gpm do 8 and 10 degree castor front c hubs , what are the standard ? which would be better 8 or 10 ?

cheers [8D]

What's up guys I'm new here and needed some help I tried the search and this was what I came up with 152 pages of this. Well I brought a nitro mt off ebay and I'm tring to put it together to race I replaced all the broken parts and now for the engine I plan on getting the o.s. 18 cv-r when I pick my other parts up also I have jato wheels but but what do you think of this motor and I what to use some parts from the mt 18ss. What's your take on my project. Please don't jump at me but 152 pages is alot and I don't have the time to read all.
Thanks in advance.

I just got 2 new toys to play with yesterday. I bought a buddies mt2 18ss with an O.S. .18TZ, and a Savage 25 with all aluminum chassis and suspension upgrades. I got alot of extra parts to include an O.S. 18 cv-r, and the stock 18ss engine. 2 gallons of monster fuel, street and off road tires for the savage. and all of his tools plus alot of extras. 500 dollars!!!!!! He decided to start saving money for him and his girlfriend and figured to do so he needed to clear out his collection.

well guys, I finally got my MT2 up and running over the weekend. This thing pretty much rocks with the OS .18 in it!!! I did have some problems with my smart temp, but if you pull the thing out it's no longer a problem. I have decided that I would like to get an .18 TZ for this eventually.. this truck is real cool!!!

Well, I haven't posted in this thread in a little while. I've mostly been messing around with my Stampede. But I did finally get the MT2 out the other day. I added a Reedy 1200 reciever pack to it and, man, what a difference over the AA's. It turns so much faster and stronger now.

I also go an early Christmas present to help out my RC hobby. I got a new Craftsman workstation to put all my RC stuff in/on. I will get pics ASAP. I will also post a pic of my old workstation so you guys can see the big improvement.

Grr... replaced my stripped spur gear and then on my 2nd tank of gas I get a little silly and snap a front upright off. Does anyone have a line on any aluminium uprights for the MT2? I can't find any on ebay or Tower.

RapSucks - I'm a newbie so check someone elses advice. I think It's an "Airleak" i have a DVD that they show them putting silicone around the O-ring on the bottom of the carbuerator assy. that mounts to the engine. They're more experienced RC'ERs here to answer your questions.
Silicone What type of Silicone would i be able to use and thanks for the reply

radial runout and out of round tires are not abnormal, these tires are not made to that good of quality to which this is preventable, even top of the line full size car tires come this way from the manufacturer which is why they need to be balanced when mounted.

I had a similar problem. Make sure your glow charger is fully charged and make sure your fuel line is correctly primed. If those are ok, check your high speed needle and throttle openings. I didn't have my throttle open enough when I first tried to start mine... they really mean quarter throttle when they say it.
