i have a quick question about mounting my new engine. ok on my os .15 cv-x i notice that there is a nut on the crankshaft. now when i put my flywheel and clutch pads and stuff, how do i secure the clutch bell down? because i notice on my stock t-15 there is a screw that screws into the shaft with a washer in front of it that holds the clutch bell in place. is this nut on the os crankshaft the same thing? hope i said this right, let me know if it's confusing, i'll try to explain better.

Actually there is a full size Savage. Check out the video here : http://www.hpi-europe.com/show_video...=en&videoID=65

Where do you get the idea that I am going by diecast models? Wanna bet there's no full scale savage or revo? Far as I know, there isn't a full size revo, instead a t-maxx and a savage. Although they came after the rc versions, they do exist none the less.

Are you going by diecast models? Not the same for these RC trucks. There is no full scale SAVAGE or REVO that exists.

They are both 1/10, but it depends on what they scale it from. For example, a 1/10 vw beetle is going to be much smaller than a 1/10 4 door 4wd truck.

Ight guys i have just had a whole new like carb block put on my mt2. and it starts perfect 1st time. but when rev it goes tiny bit and spits quite bit of fuel but u can full throttle it and goes dead slow. only tried this 2wice or it would damage engine. so is it just a case of puttin it on a block and tuning the low speed needle to get it moving quicker then move onto the high speed needle??? by the way using a t-15 engine.

blowerz you start with the upper needle first, then lower, upper needle counter clockwise
open it up 1/8 turn at a time till it runs smooth if that doesnt work turn opposite way, lower needle on side of carb the bigger screw i have always left at stock setting flush with outside edge, sounds like it is set to a rich setting no worries of hurting it then ,

started my mt 2 for the first time today in the basement (with the windows open and hepa filter on full blast) since my clutch bell broke 2 weeks ago. i finally got hear how my new tsais badboy exhaust sounds. all i have to say, is it sounds like a beast! also put some new fuel line on and fuel filter. put on more fuel line so it doesnt stall so quickly when it's upside down. too bad i cant go outside today. way too cold, it's like 15 outside with a windchill of like -10 or something. look on my face when i first heard the pipe --------> [X(] . i called my friend who just got a traxxas nitro rustler (his first nitro rc) yesterday and told him the pipe sounds awesome.

i added good 6-7 inches of tubing. worked pretty good too. emptied the fuel out the tank, then started the engine to burn the rest out. took about i'd say a good minute or two for it to finally shut off. i wonder what would happen if you did go wild with it and put more than the 6-7 inches i put on there? you just gave me an idea too. but also, i got different color fuel tubing. i got neon green going to the carb and neon orange that connects the tank to the pipe. looks pretty cool, and got the red fuel filter on there.

They are both 1/10, but it depends on what they scale it from. For example, a 1/10 vw beetle is going to be much smaller than a 1/10 4 door 4wd truck.

Unless you can show some sort of info for this, then I don't see how you can be so sure. Because of that, I say INCORRECT! I tried to give the simplest example possible to explain difference in size of scaled vehicles, but I guess some people have to read too much into it instead of reading it for what it is to get the explanation. Since that wasn't easy enough to understand, I will go further into explanation and example. If what you say about the potential space for an engine is true, then that makes the mt2 a 1/8 scale. I say this because I have a 1/8 engine, savage's s-25, in my mt2. If you look at a scale example, the mt2 matches very closely to a single cab ford ranger with the short bed. Here come the specs, and what is in parenthesis is a simple 1/10 conversion of what it would be in full size. MT2: Length 17.4" (174" ) Ranger: Length 189". MT2: Height 6.5" (65" ) Ranger: Height 66.2" MT2: Wheelbase 11.75" (117.5" ) Ranger: Wheelbase 111.5". MT2: Ground Clearance 1.5" (15" ) Ranger: 7.7" at lowest point, rear axle. The clearance is different due to the mt2 being fully independent suspension and the ranger having a solid rear axle as well as the mt2 having a higher clearance, in scale, for performance benefits. This will also influence this last spec which is width, since the suspension arms are made alot longer to compensate for performance, so I will go by the body width, which is the width of the chassis and all the components that fit on it. MT2: Width 6.4" (64" ) Ranger: Width 69.3". Although some of these specs may seem a little far off, for instance the total length, if you really think about it, that is very close. 15" difference is nothing at all, and really not worth me mentioning, but I just thought I would just for the sake of knowing that I realise this difference and understand that it is really miniscule. After all this, I regret to say that the most likely judgement when putting a scale number to it, the end result is ultimately up to the manufacturer regardless of numbers. I think they may start off with an example full size vehicle just to get the base numbers, but then tweak them to make everything they want to fit, the way they want to fit it.
ORIGINAL: friday13
CORRECT!
Traxxas and everyone else rate the scale of their vehicles based on the potential stock space for the engine.
ORIGINAL: bradley_wrench
its the same with the tmaxx. it is considered a 1/10 scale but its nearly the same size as a savage. I think the reason they scale it 1/10 is because of the size of the stock engine. the revo and tmaxx both come with a .15 which i think may class it lower, im not for sure though. I could be wrong but thats just my opinion

To address this current post you posted with the dimensions... in the automotive world 15" is A LOT! That is 3 inches over a foot.
In general, "to scale" means exactly that.
A diecast or RC should be to scale to the real size of the vehicle its being referred to.
This whole REVO being a 1/10th and the SAVAGE being a 1/8th is nothing but a farce! I do not condem the REVO - I love it. Although, I feel its a cope out for Traxxas to claim the REVO to be a 1/10th scale - the truck is practically the same proximity size of a 1/8th SAVAGE 25.
Let's move on to something else.

So...if I add extra fuel line it will help with stalls due to roll overs? I was wondering how to fix that b/c I roll all of the time.
I'm starting to make my titanium parts tommorrw, I'm gonna do my front lower arms first and the the rear. Im also gonna see if I can make some titanium c-hubs without using a CNC machine.

yep, shouldn't stall out with the extra fuel line. it'll still be fuel in the line so it gives you time to get to it. tested it out today when i started it in the basement. ran for a about a 1 and a half or two with just the fuel that was leftover in the fuel line.

the fuel tubing on mine is about 12-14 inches and it runs fine, just make sure your return line is a little longer too and you will be ok. It lets me run for about 30 seconds upside down without stalling.

Thanks Redfox/Bradley Wrench
Need some creative help here. Now that I have started to make my custom titanium parts I need a project name, I'm going to engrave whatever name i choose onto a front tubular bumper. Any name suggestions?
for consideration my goals for my MT2 are: custom made titanium parts that I will make at work, big block, i going to set my new chassis plate up to accept the savage 3 speed with reverse, rc innovations supercharger, and more. Thanks for any suggestions.
