I have at least 3 gallons throw my Savage and more then likely like 5 and with my pull starter I still have the same one way bearing. I am getting ready to do a big change over on my Savage and updates. One of them is LCG chassis and you cannot user a Roto Starter with the LCG chassis.
According to Towers this is the backing plate but I would check the number on HPI web site first before ordering.

Picked up a hump pack for mine. Still using the stock servo. It works great. I ran it with the new HPI upgraded air filter system and it works awesome...
Now I just need to find a decent pipe thats not 30$+

This is not the best pipe but better then the stock composite and is what I am running right now. Not only that the prices is right.

Thats right it is a matter of preference but also each tool has its needs and place...if you want to put a pull starter on all your engines then happy trails an drive off into the sunset. They are not a race tool and thats a fact. That does not mean people do not use them. I stated my preferences and I stated why, if you dont agree with my prefrence then so be it adn keep your whims to yourself, all in all, that you problem so please stop trying to be so damn confrontational and arrogant. I have told you many times 46U on this thread even before you started to dominate it, which why most of the original members left, not be as you are and try to be less intense. Myself and nitro are probaly the few who were on at the beginning with no problems. You have some great advice but this does not mean its all good, neither is mine, but I dont biggot myself after stating a personal preference and then say "its a personal preference".
Changing the subject...have any of you tried to play with your differentials, with lube and or seal the diff with various weights and viscosity oils...?

How you start you engines is a matter of preference. I do not have a problem starting mine whether I have a flame out or what with my pull starters. I run both small and big block engines with them and in about 6 years I have only broke 2 trying to start my BB when flooded. Never even had to change a one way bearing yet. Lord welling when I get my Hyper 8 I will have my first starter box. Matter of fact I all ready have the starter box because I came across a very good deal. As far as a Roto starter on a small block I am sure they are fine but from what I read in the Savage forum there are a lot more problems with them tearing up then pull starter as well as replacing one way bearing. I am sure it has a lot to do with knowing what you are doing just like with pull starters. But as long as you get the engine started is all that matters.

What part of it is personal preference did you not understand. It seems when I state my opinion you get your panties in a wade. When you state your opinion you act like it is Holy Grail. If you cannot take opinions do not voice them.

Gees you dont know when to fukcing stop do you...?
Diff oil...>?
I think its you who does not understand son...you need to take visual identity classes and re-learn how to type in a manner more becomming your age, because you have proved that so far with the posts you have made now and in the past with over 9 members permanently left due to your linguistical elliquence - and probably my typing...
Now the MT...(sorry to the other members, this is an old contention here, adn one that should be left off the thread), I have found that by sealing the diffs and using different viscosities and weights I can get better power to the drive train and or change it so that either the front gets more than the rear or vica versa. Its also great on the longevity of the diffs. Just have to seal them. The alum inner diff cup is probably a must dues to the plastic ove warping slightly over a short period of time and flexes, causing problems for your differentials. Just an idea to think about.

Now you can finish getting it broke in and let us know how it runs. It is a pain but pull starters can be fixed.
Good Luck and keep up posted.

hey 46u
i did try and fix the pull starter.
i had it wound up. put back on the motor.
it worked for 2 pulls and same thing happened.
i thought. ok i don`t have it wound tight enough.
tried to fix it again. the end of the spring was
pretty bent up by than. it worked for 3 more pulls.
after that i threw in the towel.
i should be able to finish the break in this weekend.
i got some linkage issues to play with.
you know? when i hit the brake the engine dies.
i`ll play around with the linkage and the trims
on my radio. and go from there.

I know what you mean about fixing the pull starter, as they can be a pain. I have only had problems so far with two and was able to fix one. So far it is holding up OK. If your truck is cutting off when you applied the brakes sounds like the idle is not set correctly. Other words when you applied the brakes it is closing the carburetor more then it should. Keep us posted and good luck.

hey 46u
yea thats what i think too. brake linkage is closing off the carb.
i`ll take off the air cleaner and look down there while i adjust the
linkage,idle and trims on radio.
its way to hot here today to run the engine so i`m going wait until
the outside temps go down into the 80`s not 100`s i got today.

Yes it is hot here about 97 heat index of 106. I will be glade when it cools off but up your way then it will be cold. We only see snow about once every 5 or so years then it normally does not stick. How is the MT running? Good to hear from you.

Correct me if I am wrong as I am not very good with metric but isn’t 50 Celsius about 122 degrees?
