there shouldn't be anything wrong with the car/engine depending on how long it was going crazy for. but i do recommend you get a FAILSAFE!! i got a dynamite one (£17.99) and when the car looses signal the failsafe appllies the break. well Ive got mine set to apply the break. and also when the receiver batteries are low it will apply the breaks to warn you. a must for any RC owner. also never let anyone go on your car only you know how to use it/control it. don't let over people wreck it because you will be the one paying.

This is where I usually take my MT2 RTR for a spin. As you can see, it's pretty much perfect for flat-out running. Wide space, no debris, and it's surrounded by thick grass banks on all sides, so no chance of high-impact smashes.

What did happen today though was this...

I gave my uncle (in pic) a go at the car today and this car park is so long he ran it out of signal distance. The car flew into the far grass bank, got caught up in the long grass and started to rev out of control because it couldn't read neutral from the transmitter.

Is this a bad situation for the car? (i.e - engine running like mad, wheels can't turn) I checked it over thoroughly when I got home and nothing seems to be damaged. The clutch is fine, too.

the biggest engine you can get is a .18 but you will need engine mounts. o.s engines are very good (cv-rx)

The only shims I know of come with the spider gear cup or the HD final gear set and as far as how thick or how many it varies as one might be different then the other. They only have one size that comes with the HD final gear set to shim the ring gear assemble but the spider gear cup comes with both for the ring gear and pinion gear.

I don't think so. Pretty sure you need motor mounts or a kit like this.

The 21 is a BIG BLOCK and if you are going to run a big block get ready go spend much money where the truck will handle it.

I am not talking about shimming the spider gears I am talking about shimming the ring and pinion (final gears) where they have a tighter gear lash but not to tight.

thats what im talking about to. my spider gears are fine. i think i need 2 shims. 1 is not enough. i will take the gear and shim to the lhs and see if they can match some up for me. because ive got washers/shims but they are to thick and make the gears to tight.

oh yeah my mum and dad told me they have orderd the lrp .18 with a pilot shaft, HD 13tooth k-factory clutch bell, bearings, racing clutch, hpi mounts, got a normal flywheel as the light weight ones are causing crank case vibration from reports. cannot wait until christmas

Oh I see what he means. He didn't get any shims with the ring gear. I think you can only get shims with the spider gear set (which is strange) The only shim he has is the one he got off the old diff.

With the pilot shaft you will have to get a different flywheel nut or modify the one you have if this can be done. You should have gotten one with a standard shaft. I run pilot shafts with my Savage and Buggy but on my MT I run a standard shaft. It is not big deal! Here is a TZ with a standard and pilot shaft as comparison.

46u, i've always been curious about how those crankshafts are different. Doesn't the second version just mean this part is integrated to the crank shaft?

That is it pretty much it and with a pilot shaft all you need is a nut. Acutely it is stronger with a pilot shaft and is why most not all big blocks come with a pilot shaft.
