Its a couple of bucks of fuel, just get rid of it or use it to clean parts and save the headaches.

I initially wrote its just a few bucks of fuel then thought it needed more but lost my creativity.

OK I finished my other MT2. I put the LRP Z.18s with 13/52 gearing with a 2 shoe clutch with .9 springs. It has a CVEC pipe on it and new GPM shocks. Now if it will just warm up a little I can get it out to test it.

New car is looking good Keith.

Update on my car. Finished sealing and rebuilding the engine with the new gaskets. It warmed up a little today, even though there is still snow outside, I fired up the car and it RUNS! It's aliiiive! I am pretty stoked, just hope it warms up and dries out some so I can tune it up. Let it run a full tank in idle/low/medium speed and it seems pretty smooth. It is running very rich at the moment, but I just wanted to get the engine a little lubed up and make sure it worked.

I will post some pictures up a little later, but just wanted to let everyone know, I am up and running ... and my first engine rebuild was a success

Cool glad you got the engine working.
Thats actually the older of the two trucks. I just started upgrading it with some spare parts and a few new ones I ordered.

Finished the rebuild on mine. I slapped on the Traxxas revo pipe and rebuilt the diffs with 30K oil. She flys now. If you have a TZ I really suggest a Traxxas blue dual chamber pipe bored out to 15/64, best pipe I have tested. I did it to my mates Jato (bored the stinger) and he gained heaps of power.

Buku's are not worth the price, theres not much gain from them. You can just tune them for low-mid or mid-top. I didn't seal them really. I have the aluminum diff cups from innovative RC. Excellent cups. They seem pretty air tight atm but if they leak I will buy some gaskets from innovative-rc.

I got the buku for 40. Everyone that has one raves about them so I figured Id give it a shot.
Are there rubber bushings on those cups where the drive cups insert?

. I didnt like the Odonells. I found it was too oily for me.
You most have been running the O'Donnell R2R blend which does have to much oil but there Race blend is good fuel. I think Blue Thunder changed their fuel and it might be OK now but it sure use to be poor but not sure about it now. Many fuel manufactures have more then one blend so brand is not the only thing to look at but all so what blend. Any fuel with more then 12% oil content is too much.

I used blue thunder 20% sport blend last season and am going to try sidewinder next. Nothing bad to report but I think my trucks ran a bit hotter than some other people I know that used other brands. Luckily I have three shops that carry different fuels within a 15 minute drive.

muddy what do you have?
46u, Im pretty sure it was the R2R blend. It ran ok but afterwards everything was always covered in a thick oily mess. It was a pain to clean up and it clogged my lines. I switched to the trinity monster brew and thats been working well for me. My temps are good, smoke is good and it seems like everything is lubricated well. The hobby stores around here seem to only stock HPI, Trinity, and OD's. I havent seen any other brands.
eminent what tires do you have on your truck?
It warmed up here today finally so I was able to get one truck out for some driving. It was starting to warm up and run nicely when I lost a screw out of one of the knuckles. I had a screw to replace it but its stripped out so Im going to have to replace the knuckle instead. Was fun while it lasted though.

hey keith, it's the mt2 with the t-15. i have the rotostart, but put the pull start on it. a couple of glow plugs, two ignitors, it has the motor saver air filter. a fuel filter. i haven't done a lot with it hop wise. being new to nitro, i thought that i would run as is until the motor needed to be replaced, then start hopping it up. but i have been bitten by the TRAXXAS Slash bug! i've been trying to get my kids into the hobby, but they only have about 1-2 days of interest in them. i got a slash and now, they all want one. i guess i found a common ground interest with them in the slash. this thing is a blast. bad news is that we just got another house, bigger, much bigger! but i'm gonna lose my track! that kinda hurts, but i'll have three more people to help with a new track now. i'm trying to sell the mt2 so i can buy another Slash. (or trade for one). let me know if you're interested. or if ya know some one that is. thanks.

Those are proline road rage 2 on 2.2 rims they feel like there going to be great they stick way better then all the other tires that I have and are way lower then the dirt hawgs and geolanders. Right now I only have just over 1/2" of clearance I put the sway bar kit on it and it is killer riged. I used some fuel tubing under the shock pistons to lower it and cut my springs down to get rid of the extra pre load. The only thing left to do is the 2 speed then its ready to go.

What do you guys think of the painted letters on that tire in my last post? Those are the tires for my friends tsunami I think it looks sharp. I might waste a few hours and do that to my tires.

Nice truck wga. I really want to get out and run my truck, but it just started snowing again today, UGH! It seems like the electronics are pretty well protected, and might take it out for a little bit. It is bad to run the truck in the cold? I have heard wrapping tin foil on the header to keep the temps up and running it rich (it is just a little leaner than factory settings, so it is pretty rich right now anyways). I guess the winter was a poor time to get into this hobby, haha.

you put the tin foil around the heat sink not the header man honest. And your going to have to re tune it for every weather change even if its only a few degrees. Be careful man winter is the worst thing on your engine if your not sure what to do. Watch the temps closely try to use a lazer temp gun and you might have to adjust the amount of the cooling head that you cover. Winter bashing is a blast man after you bring the rc inside let in sit for about 1/2 an hour then open up your radio tray DO NOT open it right away or you will get condensation in it. and as soon as the engine stops running put the piston at BDC asap! Do not start the engine when its cold heat it up first or start it inside. I bash in the snow for 6 months out of the year its a blast oh and spray some wd-40 on your bearings after you bring it in to prevent rust. Have a blast man

Thanks, I figured there would be some tuning involved with the heatsink coverage. And yes, I meant the heatsink, I guess I keep thinking that is the "head" being on top of the motor, haha. It is like 12F outside right now, so it might be a little too cold for a run. I just want to drive it so badly Come on sun, do your thing!

Yeah thas a tad on the cold side man. fuel gels up when frozen and thats pushing it. I try to make sure that its about -5c or warmer (23f) and 12f degrees is munus 11c you still can bash in that weather but just keep a really close eye on things.

Ouch sounds like you guys have hard time running. In winter the coldest it gets is around 10 degrees celsius. In summer which is now it gets to about 40 but atm its about 28 so its quite cool. I can ran anytime of the year! The coldest I have seen is when the mist on my windshield froze and I had to run the wipers for ages to get the slates of frozen water off. But thats the coldest I have seen it in ages.

I might sell my MT2 as a roller soon or keep it for a brushless conversion. I am buying a revo roller and transplanting the TZ-TX in there. All I have to do is either grind the fins down on the crank case or buy a new era engine mount, different header aswell. Cant wait.
