RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0
Yes that is a problem, only big blocks tend to run on hot plugs.
Get a OS#8.
Did he even ask what engine you have???
Sounds like he dosn't know much.
But i could be wrong.....

This thread has it about 1/2 a page up. The OS .18CV-RX

I would just keep the stock engine 'till ur warranty expires. It's not that bad of an engine.

The os A3 is fine for the stock engine. Small blocks run hot plugs and big blocks run cold plugs. Personally i got a little bit better performance with an OS #8, but the A3 seemed to last longer. It is up to you, but both work fine.

Cut body holes in the body and keep it a lil richer. Don't worry too much about temps, but check them once in a while. Also, clean off the engine and cooling head.

fuel in the lines? I had an exhaust leak causing no pressure to the tank and no fuel to the carb--did a head smack when i realized both exhaust screws had vibrated loose...

Congrats to all in this forum for flipping 100 pages. There are a lot of useful knowledge and great tips that everyone has brought to the table over the last 100 pages. I have made a lot of decisions and spent a lot of money over the last year based off of the recommendations in this group. Thanks to all, see you when we flip 200 pages! Cheers, from Detroit.

(In honor of flipping 100 pages)
Look, I found Dicko's first post back when he joined in 2/4/04. Thanks for all of the advice since then Dicko.....................
Hi Guys,
I live in Australia & run an Evader as well as a TTR DT-10 among other cars/buggies. I just bought a new engine (OS CV-RX) for the evader and got rid of the stock radio as well. I run a JR XS3 radio unit on my Evader. I had problems with the DTX 18 engine and decided I would get a better engine rather than spend more money on the DTX. I would love to know if any one has found a hardened steel alloy bell gear to fit this car. The stock aluminium one is next to useless as it wears out far to quick. I am looking into getting one made up I am that frustrated with the stock one. I also am not a fan of the fuel tank. It leaks fuel over the car from the filler cap (it doesn't seal properly) which makes cleaning the car a pain. I am going to order the Associated RC10 GT fuel tank for it. Other that that the car is great. It's hard to get parts in Australia but tower hobbies is my life saver. If you are looking for spare parts, many of the associated parts fill fit straight on as the Evader is based on the Associated RC10 GT(except the drive train up to the spur gear unfortunately).
there is another forum up on Radio Control zone with a lot more posts and action going on than this one If you are interested. link below.
http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/foru...postid=1317620
I also would definitely recomend a failsafe, as soon as you crash because you don't have one I will guarantee you'll get one.
Cheers

Breaks? Who needs breaks? It's a race truck, race trucks don't need breaks. Only noobs use breaks . You don't need a new break pad or disk, clutch there are lots of options. Search the last 2 pages and you'll find out.

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0
hey idk if any one has tryed this but i learned this today! ok went to the hobby store and he didnt have any sper gears for the evader (needed) but he looked at the Gts sper and hes like i have a 64t and 60t and im like yea im looking for the 56t but i sayed this will get me up and running so i bought the 60t and he told me if it dosnt work take it back in the package and i can exchage for the 56t evader one when he gets a shipment in. so i took it home and it was a direct fit so that gives me all the GT sper gears to choose from and also the evaders 2 so idk thats something to think about but its a direct fit
this is exactly what i bought they come in 66-64-60-56-54T and is a direct fit onto the mounts and to me i think these gears are a little harder and more durable than the stock evaders (idk) but they just to me feel that way

Shot gun getting the 3000 post
Team Sai-
If you have a bigger sper gear (more teath) that means it's a lower gear. And you will be faster of the mark.
Also if you have a smaller clutch bell and a bigger sper gear, you will be fast of the mark.
If you have a smaller sper gear and a bigger clutch bell (which means bigger engine) than you will be faster at the top
end. But with the standard engine it will be more stress on it.
If you like you can get the clutch bell of off the Evader BX. You will notice a differnt's at the top end......

Guys what is a excellent clutch bell and spur gear combination for the stock engine? Yes you do need breaks once you see a jato coming toward you, you will probably slow down and turn around.
Dicko, I read that " you set up your car not to do wheelies " how do you do that?
