Jumpy? on elevator, nope... I like to have to push my elevator when I'm inverted. I found that the rudder is less sensitive (not effective, or KE loops would be impossible) with the more forward CG. I'll be flying tomorrow so I'll try different CG's and see what results I get.

Hi Bryan

Started at

-2.5 motor, +.5 wing, 0 stab CG 285-290mm from wing TE (about 31-32% MAC)
needed 3-4% up ele-rud right rudder KE, 4-5% left rudder KE, 4% down ele-low throttle for downlines-this caused big problem on 45's

I could get rid of the KE mixing with even more forward CG, but the plane didnt fly well with it that forward.

Final setup was -

-.7 (or so) motor, +.4 wing, +.1 stab, CG 280mm from wing TE (about 33-34% MAC)
0 pitch mixing, 1-2% of down ele-low throttle on downlines - no problems on 45's

I've just received another Integral today via UPS, and looking at the yellow / purple lines on each side, I'm having difficulty believing that it's intended to represent the thrust line, because on one side the line bows up, and on the other side the line bows down. In both cases neither is a straight line, so you can't use either one to determine an appropriate straight line.

Does anyone else have the same problem, or am I the only one?

It's not the fuselage line I've been talking about. Only the chin line (crease) is the zero line. The crease is also the split in the purple and yellow on the chin only. You can not use the fuselage line because it is not in-line with the chin (zero) line.

Ok guys,

Here is a shot of my new Integral This is a stock scheme but modified colors/placement, although you can get it through Jason as a custom scheme if you want it I think its super cool.

I am hoping to be flying this one for the US Nats and Can. Nats/ Team trials. I have been flying a white one getting it all setup, and am nearly done (will post my results, I have changed many things from stock). I plan to use the same setup on this one when I get it.

Let me know what you guys think of the colors

Silly question...

What is the current availability and pricing on the Integral (ARF or all white). I recently lost my ZN Line Fashion and need a plane pretty quickly.

Thanks
Anthony

Chad, looks great. What prop are you running? Better than APC?

Hi Jim

Thanks, I think so too

The prop in the picture is just for show I think. Comp-Arf took that picture, but to me it looks like a RASA prop.

I am using different props at the moment, I have three different sizes, 21x14.5, 21x15, 21x15.5, they are 30 grams lighter than APC and seem to perform well. They are not really new, but the way I am using them is quite strange compared to what is the norm. I have to evaluate more before I put any pictures up or give any real details.....I am sure when people see it at the Nats they will think I am crazy LOL!

One thing, they are extremely quiet, with any background noise at all the plane is almost completely silent in flight.

Chad,
Did you mount the motor in the center of your fuse-wing, and cutout a slot for the prop like some foamies?
C'mon man, we gotta know now... [sm=bananahead.gif]

Look forward to seeing it at the nats..

I forgot a pic... here is the root rib. We put a piece of balsa that fills the gap between the root rib and the fuselage side. This prevents the wing nut pulling the fuselage in towards the root rib.

Okay, thanks to a tip from my good buddy Bob Satalino from Chicago, I went out and bought a laser leveling device, and I've been using it to check out my new Integral. This is what I've found.

It looks like the front chin line crease on the front of this model is pretty close to the yelllow / white line, and the purple / white line at the back of the fuse. Take a look at my pictures to see what I mean.

On this model both stab halves are about 0.3 degrees negative to this line, and the left & right wings are 0.3, & 0.4 degrees positive to this line respectively, which makes the wing an average of about 0.65 degrees positive to the stab. The nose is 2.0 degrees negative to this line, which is 1.7 degrees negative to the stab.

The wing is pretty much perpendicular to the tail fin of the fuse, but the rudder is about 2mm off relative to the wing and the tail fin.

The stab is perpendicular to the rudder, but it's off relative to the wing, and the tail fin. There's about 3mm of height difference from one stab tip to the other stab tip when the wings are level.

So, based on what I see so far, things are a lot better than my last Integral. The wings are with 0.1 degrees of each other, probably not worth worrying about right now, and the stab & rudder are not exactly perpendicular to the fuse and the wing. I think I can fix the stab, although I haven't got it completely figured out yet, and I'm looking into remounting the rudder to the fuselage tail fin. I'm not completely sure how I'm going to do that either, but I'm thinking on it.

What is the weight of your plane ready to fly? I'm asking because I have the exact same setup (motor/regulator/batteries) in an other plane and wonder if I will make weight with an Integral.........

Best regards - Paul

Guys,

Here is how I did my incidence adjusters on the Integral. The wing is pinned at the back, but I reversed it so the pin is in the fuse, and donut on the rear of the wing. Makes it easier to remove, adjust and re-pin, should the need arise once you get it set. Everything else should be self explanatory.

Also shot some pics of how I did canopy and chin attachment.

For settings, I have the wing increased by 2.5-3 mm at the LE, stab increased by 1mm at the LE, and the motor thrust was removed, such that there is about a 2-3 mm difference top to bottom of spinner to fuse. CG on mine is around 275-280 from the TE! of the wing. This results (for me), 0 pitch mixing in knife edge, 3% ele-thr on downlines, but it is invisible on 45's. In general its nicely locked in with these settings. I fly at 3500' though, so it may be slightly different at sea level.
