CA Model's Eclipse Kit
#51
Well,
I have my Eclipse ARF right now all I have to do is fly it. It was the one at the Toledo show on the table. I will be flying it when I return from the Joe Nall so I will give a good summary on what I think. Also anyone heading down to Joe nall I think there is going to be some Eclipse's and Fantasy's down there. Come check them out. I have a DZ and futaba digitals on might and it is just a ounce over 10 pounds ready to fly.

Hey Gents I took out the eclipse for flight on memorial day and had the scare of my life! I did not check the incidence on the elevator before I took off(Overlooked). As soon as I took the plane of the ground the plane did not want to climb, I immeditely switched to high rates and the plane began to climb. Whenever I would take my hands of the stick the plane would descend very quickly. with the help of a few friends at the field I was able to get the plane back safely without any injuries (sweet). Second flight / with the help of a few experienced pattern pilots we seroed out the wings and stab and took the plane off. It was the sweetest feeling watching that plane fly through the sky. This model does not fly fast, and very responsive in the air. Hands down down probaly the best model I have ever flown, and I have flown quite a few models. Here are my rates. 10 degrees of elevator 45 negative expo. Ailerons were about 12 degrees/ negative 50 expo. As far as I can tell withe the eclipse the CG is right on the wing tube. I rolled the plane inverted and it did not take and down throw at all to keep the plane level. If you are still waiting to put your plane together the time has come to take it out of the box and put it together you will not believe how well it flies. P.S. I flew the ARF. I first bought the ARC but it met an untimely death on it's maiden voyage --- bad rx switch

My Eclipse right now dry weighs about 10 pounds. I am running a YS 140L with a johnson header and Hatori pipe 693. I was planning on using the DZ but I think that is a little more power than I need right now. I am going to put the DZ on my focus to break it in and see how long it takes to get use to the engine! I am using a 9CAP radio with Hitec 605 on aielrons and rudder and 645 on the elevator.
