Bill, I sure hope this batch is good (weight) and better then the first. I would be a real shame if Fliton cannot deliver on its promises. It would be a good idea if these kits are weighted and checked before being sent to customers.

I think Fliton sofar has delivered great planes and it would be great if they can continue this for the pattern community!

Any news on the Bipes?

Yes,....I made the suggestion to Alex and Mr. Lee at the Tangerine,......QC each plane before it's sent out until you have the right formula for success. Mr.Lee is at the factory doing just that from what I understand.

This is a very,...very good plane and even better at the introductry price of $650.00 USD, but it will be going up to $750.00 at the end of Jan. I flew my composite last week and it's Sweeeet!

Bill,

Looks like a great plane for the price! I'm really interrested. Would you please confirm that it is a one piece wing with pipe tunnel. Also, how hard would it be to change the engine conpartment to fit a hyde mount?

Thanks

Greg

Yes Greg,....

It is a one piece wing with a full lenght belly pan to cover the pipe and underside wing area. The Hyde mount is possible,..you will have to remove some rail material to do so. I would do it anyway, if your going to use the Hyde mount to offset the additional weight. The Dave Brown rail mount would be a great alternative for the two stroke,...ran one in My Icepoint on the rail mount system with no issues.

Greg,...

The DB mount,...two stroke only or maybe the smaller 4 stroke up to a 110 or so. The big 4-strokes will challenge the mount to survive!

I just received my Element today. Looks great! Is anyone running one with a 2 stroke? I want to use an OS 160 with pipe. Can someone advise me where I can purchase a header and pipe that will work on this airplane. Maybe it's not feasable...please advise.
Thanks.

Mark-
I don't run an OS (I use Webra), but the going OS side-to-rear header is made by Karl Mueller.
For a pipe, run an ESD 2c 140 L9 (Central) or an Aeroslave.
Do a search on Mueller in this forum and I'm sure you'll get lots of info. Jon Lowe is an expert on the OS, BTW.

The OS-160 with the mueller header is what I used on all mine with the OS pipe for the 140RX,..works great! The other pipes will work great as well,..it should be a fairly easy set up. Order the header pipe from Karl for the Icepoint as the Icepoint was on a rail mount system and it shoud fit just fine.

Is the supplied DB mount ok for OS160 or should you remove wooden rails and use Hyde type instead ?
Thinking to get one also and have OS already waiting for it.

If you use 2 stroke with pipe.
you need one servo and push rod for elevator.
It is designed with YS160.
2 stroke 160 with pipe is more power, but balance is little off.
you may need little adjustment.

The Element 170 mono-wing version will accept the DB mount for the a two stroke only. I would not remove the rails entirely, as it does provide some strenght to the front side walls. You can use a Hyde mount, but you will have to cut away some material off the rails near the firewall and shave it else where to get it to fit.

Hi bill H.

Could you tell me about a width that is indicated on a photo.
Then I have a plan of installing a gasoline engine(ZDZ 40) to Element 170.
Thank you.

Thank you so much.

Okay guys, just for the record. I got an email from Alex and he said they have stopped selling the ARC due to economic reasons. For 700.00 it's still a great deal.
